Chapter 15

I woke up at the sound of Beans winging for the toilet. I wipe my eyes and get out of bed. I go downstairs with Beans and open the back door for him to go to the toilet.

I go and turn the kettle on and then check the time on my phone. It was 1pm. Shit. I was going to meet Simon in an hour. I quickly run upstairs and looked through my wardrobe and get into some joggers, a hoodie and my Nike air forces. I keep my hair down and put a bit of makeup on. Pick above.

I go back downstairs and see Beans in the house. I'm guessing my mum let him in.

Me: Mum I'm going in a bit okay.

Mum: Okay honey. Be careful and make sure he looks after you.

Me: He will don't worry mum.

Just then I hear a knock at the door. I run over and open it to see Simon.

Simon: Kaylee!!!

He hugs me really tight so I hug him back. Beans jumps on me and tries to get into the hug so Simon hugs him as well. While in the hug I glance over at his car to see a girl sat in the passengers seat.

Me: I've missed you so much.

Simon: So have I! I thought you were dead.

Me: Why would I do such a thing.

He laughs and we walk over to his car with Beans.

Simon: Oh this is Laura. My girlfriend.

She rolled the window down and smiled. I smiled back at her.

Me: Hiya Laura. I'm Kaylee.

Laura: I know who you are silly. Who doesn't anymore. I'm so glad you escaped.

She genuinely seemed nice. I open the car door and get in the back.

Simon: All the boys are back at the house. Have you told Vik you're back?

Me: No, I told my mum to tell Dav that I'm keeping it a secret I'm back. So unless Dav has told Vik then no.

Laura: What even happened to you. Like I know you were kidnapped but like what happened.

Me: Well I played a lot of monopoly by myself. I actually finished and won a game of monopoly which I have never done before.

They both laugh. They seemed really cute together. I still have feelings for Simon but I don't know I guess people move on.

Me: And I actually learnt quite a lot. He let me watch tipping point so I learnt a lot of new things I never knew before.

Simon: And you never tried to escape.

Me: Nah. It was safer to obey him. If not then things will happen. He said if I ever did escape he will find me and kill me like my dad.

Simon: WAIT! So he killed your dad?!

Me: Yep that's why I never tried to escape.

Laura: That must have been horrible.

Me: It wasn't that bad. At times it was but we generally had a laugh.

Simon: You had a laugh with your dads killer?

Me: Well yeah it sounds bad when you put it like that.

Simon pulls into a massive house. I drop my mouth in awe.

Simon: Right I want you to hide. The boys are probably in the living room so when I tell them I've got a surprise you jump out.

Me: What about Beans? He's a big dog.

Simon: Oh shit. Just keep hold of him and hide behind the door.

I say ok and we walk into the house. Simon goes off into the living room with Laura. I hear them all talking and laughing.

Simon: Right guys I have a surprise for you all.

I walk into the room and let go of Beans who runs over to Simon. As I was behind the sofa they didn't know I was there.

Josh: You got us a dog? What's his name.

Me: Do you dick weed. It's me!

The boys all turn around and look at me. Their eyes widen and they all jump over the sofa and hug me. They all start jumping up and down around me which makes Beans bark. The boys get scared and let go of the hug.

Harry: He's a bit feisty.

Me: Yeah sorry about him.

I kneel down and stroke his head to reassure him they are good guys.

Tobi: You're fucking here!

Me: Yeah. I escaped for you lot.

I laugh and get back up. I hug the boys individually. I've missed them so much.

Vik: How?

Me: What do you mean how?

Vik: Like how did you escape.

Me: To be honest I don't know. The police just turned up to the door one day and arrested him so Beans and I got rescued.

JJ: Wait so the dogs been with you since day 1?

Me: Yep. He's never left my side since I got him.

Tobi gets down and plays with Beans. Beans sits down and wags his tail. The boys sit back down on the sofa and ask me if I want to play Fifa with me. I say sure and grab a controller.

About 10 minutes later Ethan misses a goal and whacks his controller against the sofa which makes me jump.

Ethan: Shit, sorry Kaylee. I didn't mean to scare you.

Me: Don't worry about it.

Tobi: What did he do to you? You know the man.

Me: Oh it wasn't that bad. It could have been worse.

Josh: Did he beat you?

Me: Yes but I got used to it though.

JJ: What else did he do.

Simon: Guys! Maybe she doesn't want to tell you.

Me: Nah it's fine. They deserve to know. He used to rape me. I liked it better when I was unconscious so I didn't have to know what was going on.

Vik: Holy fuck. That's vile.

Harry: Wait so could you be pregnant?

Me: No, I got the implant in my arm to stop me from giving birth before I got abducted.

JJ: That's good then.

Harry: Not really mate.

Me: Nah I know what he means. Anyways who's going to take me to my first Nando's in 6 months?

The boys all cheer and we go to the cars. I get in the car with Ethan. It felt a bit awkward with Simon and Laura. After all I did like Simon. Ethan was driving and we were just singing to some songs on the radio.

Ethan: Kayleeeeee?

Me: Yesssssss

Ethan: Can I tell you something please.

Me: Yeah go ahead.

Ethan: I actually used to like you. But like I didn't tell you because you liked Simon.

Me: Aww that's cute.

Ethan: But the thing is, I couldn't take my mind off you while you were gone.

Me: So you still like me?

Ethan: Kind of.

Me: Aww Ethan. You're so cute.

Ethan is generally a nice guy. He's good looking and in good shape but I'm not ready for a relationship. Plus I still am kinda in love with Simon still but we'll keep that quiet.

We get to Nando's and sit down at a table. I sat by Laura and Vik, in the middle. The boys were just talking about YouTube so me and Laura started talking.

Me: How long have you and Simon been together then?

Laura: Oh only 3 months.

She comes closer to me and whisper in my ear,

Laura: To be honest I'm just with him for the money.

She sits back and laugh. I laugh to play along with her. Was she serious? I couldn't let her treat Simon like this.

Laura: So, Simon talked about you a lot.

Me: Oh did he? Apparently he went to see my mum every week when I went missing.

Laura: Yes he did.

She began to speak again so I took a drink of my water.

Laura: That was until I told him to stop.

I spat my water out and started to choke on it. Vik who was sat next to me starts to pat me on the back while all the boys watch, confused.

Simon: What happened.

I was still coughing a lot and couldn't speak.

Laura: I just made her laugh a bit too much.

I finish coughing and agree with her. After what happened I didn't want to take any risks with anyone.

We finish the food and get back to our cars. I get in next to Ethan because I really didn't want to go with Simon and Laura.

Me: Ethan, what do you think about Laura?

Ethan: I think she's a really nice girl, she keeps Simon happy, why?

Me: Oh, nothing. 

I sat back in the seat and started to shake my leg.

Ethan: Why Kaylee? Has something happened?

Me: We we're talking about Simon and she firstly said she's with him for the money. I thought she was joking but see seemed genuine. Then when I told her that Simon used to visit my mum every week she said yeh he did before I told him not to.

Ethan: Maybe you're just jealous.

Me: Seriously?

Ethan: Well maybe she didn't mean it like that.

Me: Hmm, maybe.

Maybe Ethan was right. Maybe I'm just over reacting.
