Samantha had been allowed to roam the ship when she had calmed down, which is what brought her to be standing behind the crew as Elizabeth stood on the plank.

In the the loud laughter, Samantha slipped from view as she climbed down the opposited side of the ship. Silently she entered the water, her necklace safely in a pouch as she breathed in the water.

From her mothers side she was gifted with a certain power over the sea and all tje best things that came with bejng a mermaid. Her father brought her enough human so that she could survive outside of water. Samantha was happy with her lineage when in times like these she could simply swim away, she didn't need to come up for air as her gills provided her with oxygen. So instead, she waited under the ship for the opportune moment to move towards the island. She watched patiently as Elizabeth entered the water and began swimming away.

She knew then it was only a matter of time. Next Jack's possesions entered, followed by the man himself. Samantha moved into action, swimming so thay she was along side the captain. Jack was rather frightened when he felt a tap on his shoulder but was glad to see Samantha all the same.

Jack broke surface first, Samantha only following suit when she was sure that the Black Pearl and her crew couldn't see her.

"Come on Jack." She murmured as she bobbed next to the forlorn captain.

"Aye. You better get that necklace back on." Jack ordered. The pair started swimming again when Jack had a thought that made him pause. "How do you have pants on?" He questioned. "You know with the- the- meh?" He finished.

Samantha laughed loudly as she started to swim again. "I took my pants off earlier." She explained. "And I missed it?" Jack asked slightly disappointed."Like you haven't seen that before." Samantha grumbled. "So how did you get them back on?" Jack continued as they got closer to the island. "I'm good at getting dressed underwater. Practice." Explained Samantha with an eyeroll.

The pair fell silent as they waded to the shore where Elizabeth waited.

"That's the second time I've had to watch that man sail away with my ship." Jack pouted as the Black Pearl disappeared into the distance.

"Milady, are you alright?" Samantha fretted over Elizabeth. "Yes Samantha, I'm quite alright. I'm so glad you're here with me. I don't know what I would do without you, it's been so hard living with those pirates!" Elizabeth complained mournfully. "Well, you are quite safe now." Samantha assured. "Are we?" Elizabeth questioned softly before she ran after Jack.

Samantha huffed with narrowed eyes. "You won't be if I have to hear your incessant complaining the entire time."

Samantha followed after Elizabeth and Jack, keeping a watchful eye out as Elizabeth started making assumptions. Samantha knew she probably should have warned Elizabeth that what you hear and see of Captain Jack Sparrow isn't always what you get. She would have as well, if she didn't find great amusement to watch Elizabeth flounder about as she moved from one aspect of hope to another like she does with dresses.

"You were marooned on this island before, weren't you? So we can escape in the same way you did then."

"To what point and purpose, young missy? The Black Pearl is gone," Jack woefully snapped at the high class woman, "and unless you have a rudder and a lot of sails hidden in that bodice - unlikely - young Mr. Turner will be dead long before you can reach him." Jack finished slightly somber, as if respecting Will's memory.

Elizabeth blinked in slight disbelief, before she continued on unperturbed. "But you're Captain Jack Sparrow . You vanished from under the eyes of seven agents of the East India Company. You sacked Nassau Port without even firing a shot. Are you the pirate I've read about or not? How did you escape last time?"

Samantha sighed and moved forward to stand near Elizabeth. "Elizabeth, maybe it would be best if we didn't-" "Last time...I was here a grand total of three days, all right?" Growled Jack in annoyance of having to speak of his past engagements on the island.

"bring up the past." Samantha finished halfheartedly as Jack pulled a secret cellar door open. She was shocked but pleased when the familiar stench of rum hit her nose. She smiled widely dispite herself when she realized that the island wouldn't be half as bad as she had previously guessed.

"Last time," he continued as he disappeared into the cellar, handing up a bottle of rum for Samantha. "the rumrunners used this island as a cache. Came by, and I was able to barter a passage off. From the looks of things, they've long been out of business. Probably have your bloody friend Norrington to thank for that."

Elizabeth was furious, though she didn't quite know at what. Jack, for not having had a much more exciting, action packed escape of the island. Samantha, for finding the simple joy of having rum as a partner while on the island. Herself, for having believed that the drunken pirate Captain known to all as Captain Jack Sparrow could have possibly escaped the island in every bit of the way that she had read and heard about for years.

Or maybe, she was more angry at the situation. In the span of approximately a week she had been proposed to by Norrington, threatened for the first time by a pirate, been kidnapped by pirates, found out that not only were these pirates cursed but that they were also under the impression that it was her blood that needed to be paid to break said curse. Just when she thought she was free, the ship her love had commandeered to save her with was attacked by the same undead pirates that had kidnapped her earlier, she lost Will, was left on an island with a maid and a pirate and nothing but rum to eat or drink. It was a rather long and stressful week for the noble woman and no one else had helped her one bit to adjust.

No, Elizabeth realized that that wasn't entirely true. Will had cared for her and comforted her after he had daringly rescued her. He had tended to her wound and provided much needed moral support, it was only after she confessed to stealing his medallion that he got in the slightest angry. Elizabeth also knew the anger he had against her wad completely and utterly warranted.

Sje needed to repay him, somehow, and she knew exactly how to go about it.

Jack and Samantha sat on the beach with their rum bottles in hand. "She's thinking." Samantha muttered as she took another sip of rum. "Not good. What do you think she's thinking about?" Jack asked as he brushed her hair slightly away from her face and neck. "More like who." Retorted Samantha with a snort. "Ah, young William Turner." Jack murmured as he leaned forward, his lips mere centimeters away from her neck.

Samantha felt the heat of Jack's breath on her neck, nurturing a fire inside her. A groan nearly escaped her lips when she anticipated his lips against her skin again. She could almost feel the way he would touch and move so that she was pleased in everyway.

Then, the fantasy ended with Elizabeth starting out to the forest.

"Dammit, come on." Samantha muttered and dragged Jack up with her, effectively ruining the mood as they chased after Elizabeth.

"Milady! Where are you going?" Samantha asked as soon as they reached Elizabeth's wandering form. "I was going to go find firewood for a fire." Elizabeth explained. "Milady!" Samantha dramatically gasped, earning a weird look from Jack. "There is no way I would let a lady like you do such a task. I shall go find flintstones and firewood with Captain Jack. You stay on the beach and drink rum." Samantha shooed, gently nudging Elizabeth back in the direction of the beach. "Well, alright." The woman consented, happily skipping away towards the beach.

Samantha grinned with victory. "Come on Jack, let's go look for firewood."

Jack narrowed his gaze on Samantha. "We aren't really going to get firewood are we?" "Of course we are." Samantha stated as she marched into the woods. "Just not immediately." She added.

Jack grinned and followed Samantha closely. "In that case, follow me." He led them to a small grassy patch on the other side of the island, away from Elizabeth.

The area was gorgeous, with a warm breeze that made the grass sway gently. The intoxicating smell of the sea was present in the air, tinging it slightly. The sun was still high in the sky and brought out the crystalline blue of the Caribbean Sea.

"It's so beautiful." Samantha whispered softly.

"Aye. I thought that as well, the view has improved since I last saw it." Jack slowly murmured, working his arms around Samantha's waist, firmly pressing her back against his front.

Jack could never get enough of Samantha. She was a true sight to behold and he knew that he cared deeply for the woman. Her skin was sunkissed slightly, tough from years of sailing, but still pale. Her blue eyes reminded him of the sea and everything he loved about it. They changed all the time, sometimes, they were calm and gentle, while the next day they could resemble the stormy sea- cold, rough, and unrelenting. Her hair was almost always in contradiction to her mainly ice cold eyes, it's fire-red color being completely and utterly unique and hinting at Irish origins. Jack always enjoyed when she got annoyed because that was when her accent was the strongest. That and when she cursed.

He had seen Samantha in many different situations. In the heat of a battle, in the middle of thought, soaring with ecstasy, and controlling an entire crew of rowdy pirates with her eyes only. Nothing compared to the view of her he had in that moment. The wind, softly blowing her hair out of her face and behind her shoulders while she serenely stared out at the ocean. The sun creating a halo of light on the crown of her head and lighting her eyes, showing more of the passion, desire, and gentleness that lurked within them.

It was this vision of her, that drove him to move first.

Samantha laid in his arms, contemplating her emotions for a moment. When she came to a rather startling conclusion she shot up to a sitting position in shock.

"I- Jack I think I-" Samantha started to speak. "I know." Jack whispered. "But, if I do... you know... then what does that mean for us? You can't give up the sea and until he's dead I must stay as Samantha Vida." She whined softly, torment clear in her eyes. "Then I'll kill him. As soon as I have the Pearl back I will be sure that you are as safe as I can make you. I won't stop." He swore loyally. "I won't let him anywhere near you." He finished softly. "I know you won't. I'm worried you won't have a choice." Samantha mumbled before giving a sigh.

Reaching around Jack, Samantha snatched her trousers from where they were tossed a few feet away and pulled them on. "Come on, now we actually have to go get firewood."
