1. the mission

*NEWT'S POV*

we escape wicked. i hold onto y/n's hand as we're running to find a hide out. "guys down here!". teresa yells from inside a building in the middle of no where. the guards at wicked were trying to find us but we're unsuccessful. we grab out torches out and wonder around the place. "it looks as if people lived here". y/n says beside me shining her torch around. she let's go of my hand and walk with teresa towards a changing area. she picks up some clothes, looking back at me. she walks over and hands me her torch. "i'm gonna change out of these shucking clothes".

the girls change into clothes in the changing room. "fry!". i loudly whisper turning his head away from looking at the girls, mainly y/n. "what?". i laugh while looking at him, then giving him a stare. "you know what". they walk out and walk towards fry and me. i hand y/n her torch back and we walk around together. "y/n! come with thomas and i to search around over there!". she looks at me and nods. i pull her in for a quick kiss then she runs towards the two boys.

*Y/N'S POV*

i walk around with thomas and minho in absolute silence. minho flashes him torch in my face and looks at me. "sooooo, you and newt officially together!". i roll my eyes and keep looking around. i see thomas fiddle around with some objects while minho fiddles with a power box. "MINHO DON'T!". he flicks the power box on. creating light all over the place. i look over thomas shoulder to see someone smash into the gate. her eyes were gouged out. i turn and look over in thomas direction, people coming towards us walking like zombies. "uhhhh guys. we have company!" then we sprint back to everyone.

we run around corners and jump over things. "SHUT THE DOORS THOMAS!" minho shouts. i look around and see a filing cabinet. i start pushing it over to block the door. "move thomas!" i say to him. i back away and we continue running. "RUN!" minho yells out. the other's torches was raised as we going closer to them. "RUN! CRANKS!" i yell to them. they grabs their things and run with us. "OHHH SHIT!" i hear newt scream out. we run toward the escalators, the cranks not far behind us. we run up the escalators. a crank grabs only the jeans and starts pulling at it. teresa uses her torch and hits it off. "thanks!". she looks at me and smiles. "yea no problem!".

we continue to run and through a hallway. thomas tries to open a door but it doesn't budge. "tommy they're getting bloody close!" newt yells from behind me. he runs forward and kicks a door and frypan runs toward it, breaking the lock. the group of us run but one drags winston back. teresa and i pull his arm to get him away. they cut his stomach in many different places then let go. we run with him while newt, thomas and minho try to hold them off. "JUST GO GUYS I GOT THIS!" minho yells to the boys and they run our direction. he lets go of the door and then sprints our way.

*NEWT'S POV*

we try to run out the mall. i push my legs to sprint as quick as they can to catch up to y/n. my body gets a hard push and i fall to the hard ground. "NEWT!". the voice of my love yells from the distance. i fight to keep the crank away from me but it was too strong. thomas kicks it off and throws it over the edge. he hold out a hand for me and i quickly take it. we sprint and try to find cover where the cranks won't find us, to try and kill us.

we all hide under this shelter. i hold onto y/n tightly as we all remain silent. she hold my hands as she lays her head on my chest. the cranks screeches go quieter the further they go away, getting back to their home. we al try to get comfortable with out making a noise to go to sleep. y/n pulls me close and she starts to sleep inside my arms. everyone starts to get ready for bed by placing their bags behind their heads to sleep on. i take out the blanket i took from the building put it over y/n to get her warm.

thomas and i were on night watch first. he sit on two rocks and quietest talk to eachother. "i'm happy for you newt. you're one lucky guy". he says to me while looking back at y/n sleeping peacefully. i look over at him and place a hand on his shoulder. "i'm very lucky to have her". he smiles and looks up to the sky. "so tommy...what's going on with you and teresa?". he just stares at the sky and try's to avoid my question. "nothing. i mean...i like teresa, but i don't really want anything with her".  i over and see a frown appear on his face. we sit in silence waiting for minho and frypan to take over.

i couldn't stop thinking about what thomas said. as i lay next to y/n, i start imagining if she didn't want anything with me. if she didn't like me but she liked my best friend. i shut my eyes and try to fall asleep. y/n pulls herself closer to me, sharing our warmth. a small smile forms on my face and i start to drift off to sleep________first chapter of the new book...done

i'm quiet proud of how it turned and continued on from the last book.
