8: It's my birthday

July 18th, '24 | 📍Los Angeles, CA

"Melly, can you tie this for me?" I called out as I held the strings of my dress. She came over, tying them firmly me before smirking in the mirror. "Reneé is gonna loose her shit when she sees you in this," she said making me laugh. "It's a good look huh? I was kinda iffy about it. You know this isn't my style for real," I said as I moved on, fixing my edges. "Nah you look good y/n/n," she said making me smile. Once I was finished I stood up grabbing my wallet and we headed out to Melany's car to go to the venue. After the thirty minute drive the LA traffic cause, we pulled up and the number of people herew was insane."Damn Y/n/n how many people did you invite," Mel said as I chuckled. "Actually only twenty, but I did give everyone the option to bring a plus one so yeah," I said as she nodded. We parked in my reserved spot before unbuckling as I texted the event host to let her know I was here. She let me know that everything was set and I could make my entrance. We got out of the car and walked right the back door. Once I made it inside I smiled hearing the music and everyone laughing. I just knew this was gonna be a good night. "Hi Ms. Y/n. Are you ready?" The event planner, Naya said as I smiled at her."Yes! By any chance, did you see a blonde woman, blue eyes, like five foot seven?" I asked as I hadn't heard from Naw yet today. Her smile dropped a bit."Uh, I don't recall, but I can take a look if you'd like?" She said as I sighed shaking my head. "No that's okay, let's go," I followed her lead before we made it to these white double doors. She opened them, causing everyone's attention to turn to me and I can't lie I loved it. Everyone cheered loudly as I walked in, making my way to the front. I grabbed the mic and let the clapping die down before speaking. "Hi everyone. First I want to thank all of you for coming to celebrate with me. My only wish this year was to celebrate with the people who love me so I can't ask for anything more. Uh, so yeah, thanks again and let's turn up," I said before passing the mic back to the DJ and the music picked up. I saw my parents sitting with JuJu, and I dragged Melany over there with me. My dad saw me first and smiled big."Baby girl, happy birthday," he said as I smiled hugging him tightly."Hi daddy, hey mama you guys look great!" I said as I sat with them. "So do you, Mel, I heard you have a boyfriend now. Where is he?" My mom said as she couldn't Help but to be nosey. "He's here, he's over by some of our friends," she said gesturing towards bar that Scarlett and Cassidy were at. I glanced over as well, and still no Reneé. I pouted a bit. But I wasn't gonna let her ruin my birthday. I walked around talking to a few different people before I came across my friends, Kyle and Noah."Oh my gosh hi my babies. How are yall," I cooed as I hugged them. It had been a Few months since I last saw them. "Hey miss ma'am. Happy birthday, look at you!" Kyle said as I did a little twirl. "You look good girl. I'm surprised Reneé let you out the house like that," Noah added on. I rolled my eyes dramatically."Don't get me started with her. I'm upset with her right now. Seriously though how have you guys been. I feel like I haven't seen you in ages?" I asked as I sat with them. We talked about their modeling careers and my influencing before the topic of families came up."Oh yeah we're actually in the process of looking for a surrogate now. It's just so hard cause like I would much rather prefer someone we know, and these companies charge an arm and leg to help you find one," Kyle rattled off as i sipped my drink."Ill do it," I offered shrugging. He choked  on his drink as I did, making em and Noah look at him worriedly."Y/n, what? We can't ask you to do that it's a lot," he said as Noah chimed it."Yeah that's a lot y/n/n. We can't ask you for that.""Well good thing I offered and you didn't ask hmm?" I said as they smiled."Are you dead ass? Don't play with my heart bitch," Kyle said as I nodded."Of course. It'd only be right that I carry my future god baby for yall," I said as they both hugged me."I love you so much. Seriously," Kyle said as Noah agreed."Well we can talk about this another time. Tonight is about you. Speaking of," he trialed off looking behind me. I turned around and my jaw dropped. What the hell was she doing here now.  She walked over smiling ear to ear. "Hey beautiful, happy birthday," she said as she approached me. I excused myself and stood up walking closer to her. "What the fuck?" Was all I could get out. Her eyebrows furrowed."I was stuck in traffic. Sorry I'm late love," she said reaching out to hug me. I smacked her hands away rolling me eyes."What the hell are you doing here Calah? You didn't even get a fucking invite," I spat as her smile dropped."I came with a friend of mine. Why are you acting like this?" She said confused.  Before I could react, I felt arms wrap around my waist. I smelled the familiar lavender and knew it was Reneé immediately. She pressed a kiss onto my cheeks before speaking finally. "Happy Birthday baby. Who's this?" She asked loudly. She wanted Calah to hear her."My ex. That shouldn't even be here," I said with attitude laced throughout my voice. "Oh? Hey you're more than well one to leave on your own. Or Benny here can help you out," she said as she gestured towards Benny, her body guard, who wasn't far behind. "Y/n seriously? Don't be like that," she protested as I groaned. "Benny?" I called out as she smacked her teeth."You've seriously changed y/n," she said before shaking her head and leaving. Once I realized she left I turned around, pushing Nae off of me. "And where the hell have you been? I haven't been able to get in contact with you all day. You scared the shit out of me," I expressed full of emotion. "I know, I had to keep a low profile so I could do this," she said as I looked confused. "Huh?" I said as she turned me around. There stood four men holding these huge flower bouquets. "Six hundred roses, and your gift is outside pretty girl," she said as my eyes watered. "Reneé," I whined out as that smirk crept back up on her face. "Come on baby, come see your surprise," I followed her outside along with everyone else. When I made it out, there was her car parked right by the door."Are you ready? Close your eyes," she said as I nodded smiling. I closed them tightly as I heard her open the car door. "Okay hold you hands out pretty girl," I followed her instructions and soon I felt something soft touch my hands. I gasped once I felt it move and put the pieces together. "No!" I gasped out as she laughed. "Open your eyes baby. Meet your new puppy," I was now on the verge of tears as I looked at the tiny dog Reneé was holding. He looked around like this crazy bitch. But I couldn't help it. I had always wanted a Great Dane but never had the space for one and I was just telling Reneé that I was going to adopt one as soon as I moved in to my new house next week. "Here baby you wanna hold him?" She asked as I nodded raking the rather large puppy. Everyone awed as he sniffed me before placing his paw on my chest. And I just melted right there. "Thank you so much baby. I'm sorry for giving you attitude," I said jokingly as she smiled. "I'm used to it. My little cry baby cancer. You're so welcome though my love," she said as she bent down kissing me softly. "Okay, let's head back inside everyone," I said as they all cheered heading back into the venue. I waited for them to all go in before walking in with Reneé and puppy. Now I just have to fire out a name for him. And I was more than sure it was a him, with the extra body parts he entailed. "So what are you gonna name him baby?"  Nae asked as we walked insides I shrugged, looking the puppy in his face. "Blue?" I questioned he didn't seem to respond though. "Lennox?" Still nothing."What about Koda?" I said as he looking up and almost jumped out of my arms. I smiled looking at Reneé. "Koda it is," "Like from the movie brother bear?" She said with a laugh as I nodding happily. "Exactly," she shook her head laughing."Your mom is indeed with kids movies Little bear," she said, petting the dog. I smiled though, I was so happy. "But uh, this dress. You look real good in red baby," she said in my ear, sending chills down my spine. "Thanks Babe. You gone take it off me tonight?" I said back as she smiled."We can make those arrangements," she said tapping my ass. I laughed happily. A perfect twenty-three.
