Period

i wanted to write this chapter because i was inspired by the cramp scene from twisted hate by ana huang, but i had to do some research on endometriosis, which is a tissue related condition where the tissue from the uterus grows outside the uterus. 

Paedyn

There were warning signs. But of course, I ignored them. A slow ache in my lower abdomen. Inflamed red bumps rising on my face. 

Halfway through trying to wrestle the rest of Ava's scrambled eggs into her mouth, sharp, stabbing pain slices through my abdomen. My knees give out under me, and Kai whips around from where he was telling Adrian and Kit a story. He's instantly by my side, keeping me from crashing to the ground. I bite my tongue to prevent myself from crying out. Ellie instantly is in the room, whisking Adrian, Kit, and Ava out of the room. A trickle of blood snakes down my inner thigh and Kai instantly knows. He scoops me up bridal style into our room. 

I bury my face into his chest as he puts me down on our bed. 

"The sheets–"

"It'll be fine, Pae, it's just blood." Kai murmurs. Once I'm set onto our bed, I instinctively curl into a ball. Kai peels the sheets back and tucks me under them. He slides in next to me, a calloused hand finding its way under my shirt, slowly applying pressure to the swollen skin underneath. He starts rubbing small circles on me. I slowly turn around and smother my face into his shirt, inhaling his scent.

Kai

"I'm sorry, Pae." I rasp. She laughs dryly. 

"There's nothing you could do, really," she responds. "I've been like this for my whole life." I pull her closer. 

I'll hold her until the pain goes away. I'll stay.

I press a kiss into her hair. 

"My Pretty Pae," I whisper. "I love you so, so much." I stop rubbing circles when she shifts to look at me. Her lips press against mine. Butterflies. It doesn't matter that we're married now, because, no matter what, they'll always make an appearance. 

"Thank you," she says softly. 

"I will do this every month just for you," I tease, playing with those silver locks that I know all too well. She chuckles.

"You're ridiculous," she murmurs, her voice muffled against my chest. 

"Only for you," I say. 

so sorry for the short and delayed chapter! like paedyn i've been dealing with lady problems plus my boyfriend of two years BROKE UP with me. the lovely breakup song that i've been listening to by tay is hidden somewhere in this chapter. 

my therapy is kai and pae. bc they LITERALLY changed my perspective on love. anywho have a lovely day/night!
