A Night At Sakura's Pt. 1

08:17, 22 January 2025

October 811:23 a.m.

———Now that Sasuke was in the village, Sakura decided to take him to see Naruto. Sakura looked up at Sasuke and smiled, "I'm serious so glad that you came back." she said sweetly.

Sasuke kept his focus on the road in front of them and nodded. His expression was stoic as usual but there was a small hint of blush still on his cheeks. Being around Sakura again for the first time in a while made him extra nervous but still happy nonetheless.

"Oh, I don't think I told you but Naruto got a new apartment. It's wayyyy cleaner and bigger than his last." Sakura said enthusiastically, "Hinata is definitely the reason why they aren't living in filth...I couldn't see Naruto cleaning very well." she giggled.

"Hn." Sasuke smirked a bit...although he wasn't smirking at what she said. He was smirking because he almost couldn't contain how much he enjoyed hearing her voice. The letters that she sent to him these past two years were great and all but they couldn't compare to the sound of her voice and the emotion that it carried....

As the two walked to Naruto's place, Sakura went on and on about all sorts of things. She was excited that Sasuke was back and she had so much to tell him. Sasuke would normally hate this, but because it was Sakura, he enjoyed every second of it.

The two spent the rest of the day with Naruto and Hinata catching up. Hinata and Sasuke were mostly quiet while Sakura, and especially Naruto, did most of the talking.

During their get together, Hinata would notice Sasuke staring at Sakura with soft eyes. Hinata instantly recognized the look in his eyes...she too had the same look whenever she'd watch Naruto from afar. Before Sasuke and Sakura left, Hinata planned on telling Sakura about this.

—October 89:47 p.m.—

The group were saying goodbyes to each other but before Sakura could walk out the door, Hinata grabbed her hand and pulled her into the kitchen.

Sakura looked at her confused. "Why are we in here?" Sakura asked, "Do you need something?"

Hinata shook her head before pulling Sakura closer. "While you were here...Sasuke never took his eyes off of you." she whispered, "Did you notice it?"

"What??? Are you sure?" Sakura raised an eyebrow.

Hinata nodded and smiled a little. "I think he might have feelings for you..."

Sakura blushed and she looked at Hinata like she was crazy. "Don't say that! Maybe he...maybe he just...w-wanted to tell me something!" she quietly shouted.

"No...I don't think that's what it was." Hinata contested, "I know what I saw...it seemed to be a lot more than that."

Sakura stayed silent for a second to think. She frowned a little before responding, "Are you really sure? I don't want to get my hopes up..."

Hinata tightened her grip on Sakura's hand and nodded. "Yes, Sakura. Go and ask him about it..." she said softly before hugging Sakura, "You've gone through the hard part; he already knows your feelings for him...so there's nothing for you to worry about."

"I guess...you're right..." Sakura said nervously as she hugged Hinata back. "I'll just have to find the right time to ask."

The two backed away from the hug and grinned at each other. "You're the bravest girl that I know. I know you can do it!"

"Thank you Hinata..." Sakura giggled.

After their little chat in the kitchen, the girls returned to the front door where Sasuke and Naruto were waiting patiently for them.

"What was that about?" Naruto laughed.

"Nothing, nothing." Hinata said quietly.

Sakura walked next to the front door. "It was just girl talk. Don't worry about it." Sakura said. Before Naruto could respond, Sakura interrupted him, "I'm getting tired so I think we're going to go now. It was nice seeing you guys."

"Oh...ok then. Goodnight Sakura, goodnight Sasuke!" Naruto said with a smile.

Sakura opened the door and both she and Sasuke walked out. "Goodnight guys!" she said before closing the door behind them.

Sasuke and Sakura started walking away from the apartment in silence. But once they were on the Main Street, Sakura stopped and faced Sasuke. Sasuke stopped and looked at her.

He stared at her with a blank expression, waiting for her to speak.

After what Hinata told her, Sakura was really curious to know if she was right...if Sasuke had feelings for her. She looked into his eyes and tried to find whatever Hinata saw in them. But regardless of how hard she looked, she couldn't see anything. He looked pretty much the same as always.

This wasn't enough to make Sakura give up on him but it did hurt. Her heart stung for a second and her eyes began to tear up.

Sasuke wasn't sure what was going on with her or why she was staring at him. But then he noticed the sad look in her eyes...He didn't understand what caused her to tear up but he instantly felt bad for her. He frowned slightly and sighed.

Hearing him sigh, Sakura realized how long she was staring at him for. She looked away and smiled shyly. "Sorry about that..! I...kinda got lost in thought." she giggled nervously.

Sasuke look at the ground. "Do you remember what you were going to say?"

Sakura's lips tightened as she tried to think of something to tell him. She wasn't ready to confront Sasuke about his supposed staring. Then she realized that Sasuke was in the village for the first time in years and it hit her...he probably didn't have a place to stay.

She looked at Sasuke who was still staring at the ground. "Where do you plan on staying while we're still in the village? Do you have anywhere to go?" she asked worryingly.

"I don't. I was going to patrol the village during the night." he said.

Sakura's eyes widened. "You can't do that! You have to sleep you know?!" she exclaimed.

Sasuke looked at her. "I'll be fine. Don't worry about me."

"You're my teammate and I'm a medic; it's my job to worry about you!" she said as she crossed her arms. "It's not good for your health if you don't get any rest."

Sasuke became uncomfortable with her assertion and it was very noticeable. His jaw tightened and he looked to the side. "I said I'll be-" he started before being cut off.

"No. You won't." she said firmly as she leaned to the side to get him to look at her, "If I'm going to be traveling with you, you will have to listen to me when it comes to your health. Otherwise, I'll worry."

Sasuke closed his eyes and sighed before feeling Sakura's hand grab his. Before he could say anything, she was dragging him to a new location. Embarrassingly, Sasuke's face turned red and his heart was racing. He didn't expect this from her. He stared at her hand as she dragged him away. "Where are you taking me..." he asked quietly with a quivering voice.

"We're going to my place. I'm not going to allow you to go without rest." she said somewhat annoyed.

His heart skipped a beat when he heard what she said. He knew that it wasn't a big deal to stay over at a friends house but this felt different. It felt more special to him....

When they arrived to Sakura's apartment, she rushed him to the couch. Once she got him to sit down, she sat on the coffee table in front of him. "Is there anything you need? Are you hungry? Thirsty? Anything?" she asked.

Sasuke felt a bit awkward being alone with Sakura in her home. He was sort of shocked that she wasn't feeling nervous. But at the same time, knowing Sakura, his well-being mattered more than whatever feelings she had for him in this moment. Sasuke, without looking at her, shook his head. "I think I just want to sleep..." he said, trying to get her to stop worrying about him.

Sakura stared at him for a moment to see if he'd say anything else but when he didn't, she stood up. "Alright, but if you want anything, don't be afraid to ask me. You should shower before you go to bed. Do you have a change of clothes?" she asked.

"I do." he said as he stared out a window.

"Alright. I'll go get you a towel. Wait here." she said as she walked away.

For the few minutes that Sakura was gone, Sasuke stared out of a window trying to calm his nerves. He had nothing to be nervous about but he couldn't stop himself from freaking out on the inside.

Sakura returned with a towel and placed it next to Sasuke. "Here you go. The first door on the left in that hallway is the bathroom. I'll be showering in my bathroom so if I'm not done by the time that you are, just come back here and wait for me, ok?" she smiled.

"Hn." Sasuke said before she walked away....

After Sasuke finished showering he went back to sitting on the couch. But this time, instead of looking out the window, he looked around the room.

The decor in Sakura's apartment matched her personality well...it was sweet but bold. It was very pink and girly which wasn't Sasuke's style but knowing that Sakura liked it, he started to take a liking to it and it began to calm him...he couldn't help but smile.

A few minutes later, Sakura returned. She was wearing a pink tank top and pink shorts. As she walked towards Sasuke, she put her hair, that was still damp from the shower, into a high ponytail.

Seeing her like this, Sasuke's nerves resurfaced. His body stiffened the closer that she got to him. He gripped onto his knee and his breathing became heavier once she stood in front of him.

"Sorry I took so long. Sometimes I don't realize how long I'm in there for." she laughed.

"Hn." he said quietly. His body felt numb and his mind was empty. He was staring at Sakura but he looked like he was deep in thought.

"Well I'm guessing that you're pretty tired." she said nervously. "I can go get you a blanket and pillows if you're ready to sleep now."

"Hn."

Feeling a bit awkward, Sakura nodded shyly before getting a blanket and pillows. When she came back, Sasuke hadn't moved an inch. Sakura didn't want to bother him so she decided not to linger.

Sakura put the blanket and pillows down next to him. "I'll let you sleep now..." she chuckled awkwardly. "Goodnight, Sasuke-Kun." Sakura walked to her room, leaving Sasuke alone.

The second he heard her room door shut, he let out a heavy sigh and felt all of the tension slip away. However, his heart felt as though it were being squeezed.

To try to take his mind off of her, Sasuke set up the pillows and blanket and laid down. When he closed his eyes, his mind immediately trailed back to Sakura. The image of her walking towards him as she put up her hair made his heart race. Her perfect skin was practically glistening in the moonlight. And Sakura standing in front of him, her hips being within eye level of Sasuke, nearly made him start salivating on the spot.

As he tried to sleep, he continually thought about how enticing Sakura looked in that moment. It made Sasuke feel...strange. He was experiencing new feelings that he's never felt before in all sorts of places and ways...———
