Rebirth

(Skipping to night time)

Jinora smiled, "Night Kai see ya in the morning!" Kai smiling, "you too!" Jinora went into her room and closed the door. She layer on her bed, and fell asleep after awhile.

Jinora woke up, "huh what a weird dream..." she gasped, "Today's Kai's birthday !" she got out of her room but she wasn't in the air temple, "Dad! Where's Kai?" Jinora asked.

"Who?" Tenzin said, "There is no Kai..." Jinora walked up the a window they were flying over a village, Jinora was confused suddenly they landed.

She stood next to her uncle Bumi, "Come one come all to witness the AMAZING air benders!" Bolin shouted in a megaphone, "An airbending show that will leave you breathless," he whispered but then shouted, "with wind! First up the tattooed master himself you know him as the son of Avatar Aang! He shaves every hair on his head every single day! He's the one the only guy with an arrow pointing to his nose TENZIN!" Bolin yelled in his megaphone.

Tenzin started to airbend a hamster wheel and sat in it, the wheel went in a circle around Bolin and then Tenzin jumped off and it disappeared, the villagers cheered.

 "Now now ladies and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen please be quiet. I have some serious news. We've heard that an escaped fire bending convict has been spotted near here"Bolin shouted into his megaphone, "now, I don't want to panic anyone but if you see a fire bender with a red scarf!"

The people yelled, "I see him!" "He's right there" it was Mako, "I am the escaped convict and and you will all reap my fire!" He said monotonly, he blew fire in the sky, the crowd gasped. 

Bolin yelled, "Oh no! Who will help us?" Korra stepped up, "I will!" Korra said, "with my airbending skills!" Korra made a big tornado and Mako was trapped at the top, "HEY LET ME GO! THIS IS NOT WHAT WE REHEARSED KOOORRRAAA!" Korra and Asami giggled.

"With the power of airbending even this beast can float!" Bolin shouted, "Like a feather..." Bolin looked at Bumi, "Look what can be done in only a few short weeks of practice!" 

Bumi started shooting air balls from his fingers, a Jinora flew ahead, "Don't worry folks she might be young but she is in full control!" Jinora landed on the top of a water fountain everyone clapped.

"Ladies and gentlemen, if you or anyone you know is an airbender, PLEASE send them our way! Master Tenzin and Avatar Korra would love to teach them all they know!"

The entire crowed walked away and went on with their lives, a boy with brown hair, light brown skin, green eyes and an entire green outfit with suspenders came running up to them, Jinora recognized this boy.

"Hey! Hello, if your looking for airbenders you just found one!" He said then shot a wave of air to the left and right sides of him, "I wanna join you guys!" 

"Get outta town!" Bolin said smiling, Korra looked at Tenzin, "we got put first recruit!" She said, "just to be totally clear we're going to be heading to Ba sing se, then the northern air temple to live as nomads, all that sound good to you?" 

The boy nodded, "Yeah, Ba sing se, rebuild the temple, air nomad whaddyado, I'm in, let's go right now!"

"This is so great your gonna love it! Uh...ah..." Bolin stammered he didn't know this kid's name, "real quick what's your name?" 

"Kai!" Kai said, "so when do we hit the road!" He asked, Tenzin put up a hand.

"Hang on a second, Kai where are you parents?" Tenzin asked, "we can't have you come with us without their permission." Kai looked at the ground.

"My parents are...gone..." he said. "Your an orphan?" Bolin asked. Kai nodded, "it happened about a year ago, my hometown was raided by outlaws but my parents fought back against them I was scared but they told me not to worry, they would protect me and they did, my parents saved me and the entire village but they died in the fight. Mom and Pop meant everything to me they were my whole life, ever since then I've been on my own, and on the run those outlaws are still after me."

Bolin sniffled, "Well you don't have to be on the run anymore! Right guys? Tell him!" Bolin said.

"I'm so sorry about your parents," Tenzin said, "I know we could never replace them, but we're here for you."

"We'll keep you safe," Korra said, "Come on!" They started walking into the airship.

"When you board this airship you're gonna leave your old life behind!" Bolin said, "and start a new path that's some big brother advice. Just think of me as your big brother!" Kai smiled.

Mako looked out a window, people were coming to the airship, "Guys, I think we got trouble." Mako said. Everyone turned, "Release the boy or we'll take him by force!" One of the people said, the other ones earth bended a rock, "The outlaws," Kai said stepping backwards, "They're after me, let's get out of here!"

Korra looked at him, "We're not running from anyone.." She opened the airship door, "If you want Kai you'll have to go through me!" She said.  

Korra airbended down to the outlaws they shouted their rocks at her, she fell to the floor but somersaulted and airbended. They were blown away. The captain outlaw shot a rock at Korra but she used airbending to stop it. She earthbended and the ground came up in small pieces shooting the captain outlaw in the sky and on the floor, "Your days of harassing an innocent boy are over, you outlaws are going to prison!" She said.

"Outlaws? Innocent boy?  I'm a sheriff and these are my deputies." The sheriff said, "And this kid is a thief whatever he told you is a lie we've been chasing him for months." Korra got angry.

"Where's Kai?" She asked. 

"Right here!" Mako said, "I found him slipping away!" 

"I was going to the bathroom!" Kai said, Mako glanced at him, "With your sack of gold?"

"I told you I found that on the ROAD!L Kai yelled.

"Enough with the lies kid, I want the truth!" Mako said, the sheriff stepped in, "The truth is he's the outlaw he's spent his entire life as an orphan. Until he got adopted by a real nice family about six months ago, and how did he repay them? By taking their entire life savings. We've been after him ever since." Korra looked at the sheriff then at Kai, "Is that true?"

"The person who stole that stuff was the old me! Once I got airbending, I changed I don't know how to explain it but I feel like airbending chose me for a reason. Like I'm a new person." Kai said, "I'M SORRY! PLEASE YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO ME!" he was getting taken away by force.

"Are you taking him back to the orphanage?" Bolin asked, the sheriff looked and shook his head, "No, he's headed to jail." Korra looked at the floor, "wait!" She said, "you guys got the family's life savings back now let us take Kai."

 Tenzin moved Jinora out of the way, "Do you really want our first new member of the air nation to be a liar and a thief?" Korra smiled, "he just needs some guidance Tenzin, and who better to give it to him than us?" 

"You want this kid or not?" One of the sheriff's deputies said, Tenzin thought about it for a second or two slowly stroking his beard, "Yes, you can release the boy into our custody." The deputies let go of Kai and he ran to hug Korra, "thank you!" Kai said.

"Don't make me regret it!" Korra said.

"Welcome to the family little bro!" Bolin said, and Bolin, Korra, Kai and Jinora got in a group hug. But Bumi just hugged Tenzin.

They all were walking into the airship, Mako grabbed Kai and turned him around, "I just want you to know," Mako started, "I'm going to be watching you, kid I know exactly what your all about because I've been there before, you don't have me fooled." 

Kai stepped back, "woah hey lighten up, I'm turning over a new leaf making a change don't you worry about me." He started walking up to the airship.

"Hi. I'm Jinora If you need any help with airbending I could show you what I know." Jinora said blushed, Kai smiled and pulled on his suspenders, "Thanks, that's real nice of you."

"JINORA!" Tenzin yelled, "We're leaving now!" Jinora smiled at Kai then walked up into the airship, and you know the rest. (If you finished LOK)

Okay so that's the end of the book hope you liked it, I know I enjoyed writing it! Maybe I'll write another one like something totally different. Also bruh I'm stupid this ain't an AU...uh. Yes, I stole this scene from the third season second episode but do I really care! Nope!
