The Parents

I woke up wrapped in Michael arms. I stirred a bit realizing I fell asleep before he did. He let out a breath then tighten his grip around me.

"You're gonna squeeze me to death. " I giggled.

He just groaned hid his face in my back. I picked my phone up off the night stand and turned it on. It was noon! Holy moly!

"Babe, it 12:20pm." I said.

"So." He replied.

"We need to get up." I giggled pushing his arms off of me.

"Hmm how about...no" he said pulling me back in.

He started kissing on my neck. "Stop that!" I laughed getting out of his grip getting out of bed.

"Why are you so difficult? " he laughed. He got up and put a fresh black long sleeved under armor shirt on.

"I'm hungry. " I said as i brushed through my hair then putting it in a bun.

"Let's go eat then princess." He said grabbing my hand walking out his door. We walked down the steps to spot not only Michaels parents but mine too.

"Oh shit." We both said.

"There's breakfast on the counter. After you guys eat we wanna talk with you guys." Katherine said. We both nodded then slipped into the kitchen as our parents eyes burned holes in us watching us.

"Let's just slip out the door." I said serious.

"No babe. We gotta figure this out. You can't always run from your problems. " He said handing me a muffin. We ate slowly at the table trying to push off talking to our parents.

We finished eating and Michael grabbed my hand. "Your not gonna chicken out on me, are you." He said. " Never. I'm yours. Nothing they say or do with change my mind." I replied kissing him.

We walked hand in hand in the living room.

"Sit." Katherine said.

Michael and I sat on the love seat.

" Audrey, leaving like that last night was childish." My mom said trying to keep her cool.

"I'm 18 years old. You guys no longer have control over who I see or date." I replied.

" Audrey your mom's right. Maybe it's best you guys don't see eachother anymore. " Katherine. Michael and I stared at her surprised.

"Mom, why would you say that?!" Michael said.

"Michael you need to focus on getting better." Katherine replied.

" and i need her help! " Michael shouted.

"You better watch yourself boy! She is not your drug consular! " Joseph shouted. We held hands tight, " Like you guys care anyway!" He shouted.

"Michael we care!" Katherine gasped.

" No! You dont! Giving me the silent treatment and taking locks off my doors does not show you care. I could have left yesterday and went straight back to my dealer! I know this is all my fault but I need help and the only person that's helping is Dre!" He argued.

Katherines eyes became glossy, " You guys can say, do whatever you want but we will not stop being together." He said.

I could see my parents biting their tounges. "Audrey your coming home with us and staying there." My mother said.

I rolled my eyes. "You can't keep me locked in the house all day. I know you guys want what's best for me but the more you guys push this and try to keep me away from him the more I resent you. I want to be with him and I refuse to let you guys ruin this." I said.

My dad shook his head, " you think threatening us will help?" My dad asked.

"Do you think threatening me will help?!" I replied.

"I am the damn parent Audrey Anne! If we say we don't want you around someone we expect you to listen! " he shouted.

"Audrey 2 weeks ago you were crying your eyes out because of him! You were crying in MY lap telling me I was right about him along and I will not sit here and watch you make the same mistake! " My mom shouted. Everyone was silent.

" I'm going to be with Michael no matter what any of you say. That's final." I say getting up going up to Michaels room. He quickly followed. Tears hit my cheeks as i sat on Michael's bed.

"Baby, I'm so sorry." He apologized hugging me.

" Why cant they see we love eachother?" I cried.

" i don't know baby." He said holding me.

"Cant we run away or something? " I asked. Michael giggled then looked at me, "oh your serious aren't you?" He asked surprised. I nodded.

"Babe we cant, we have to finish high school and we've got prom coming up next month. " He said.

"I'm sorry I'm putting you through this. " He said holding me.

"I just wanna be happy. ...& you make me happy. " i cried.

"If i make you happy then why are you still crying? " he smiled lifting my chin smiling. I smiled a bit as he wipped my tears.

"I love you." He said then kissing me.

"I love you too. " I said breaking away from the kiss.

I packed my bag and head down stairs.

"If you ever need me, just call. I'll come get you." He said.

"I know baby."I said putting my bag down wrapping my arms around him. He kissed me as my parents honked their horn.

"Bye." I said kissing him again .

"Bye goregous. I Love you. " he smiled.

"I love you too." I replied .

I got in the car and no one spoke. At all.

We got home and I went straight to my room. I sat in my bed on my laptop when there was a light knock. "Who is it?" I asked.

"Its Ri. Can i come in?" He asked. "Yeah." I replied shutting my laptop.

He came in and sat on my bed with me.

"Why are you, mom and dad fighting? " he asked.

"They don't want me to be with Michael. " I replied. " Why?" He asked

"Michael made some really bad choices." I replied

" but everyone makes mistakes?" He said.

" Yeah but mom and dad are to protective to see that. They're scared he's never going to get over his mistake." I said.

"Do you think he will?" He asked.

"I don't know. I have faith and hope that he will." I replied.

" but if this mistake is so bad and you don't even know if he'll get over it, why are you with him?" He asked confused.

" I really love him Ri. I love him a lot. I always promised myself I'd never be with someone like him but he needs me and everyone deserves 2nd chances. If he messes up that's on him not me bit if i was to not give him a second chance then i would never know if things would have actually worked out or not." I said.

"Ohhh. That's a good point Dre. You're smart." He smiled.

"And you're a good listener for a 7 years old." I giggled and he just shrugs smiling.
