"Eobard Thawne killed her."

My mouth goes dry. Thawne killed Barry's daughter?

"I'm so sorry Barry," I mumble. He nods.

"It happened a while ago. Iris and I have come to terms that one day we'll have kids and a Nora of our own," Barry tells me. I nod.

"So, how is the apartment you got?" Barry asks curiously, subtly changing the subject.

"It's small and dark and a bit moldy but it's nice being able to have my own place," I tell him. He nods.

"I know the feeling. When I left for university, Joe said I could stay at his place but I refused and got myself a small place of my own instead. I eventually moved back in with Joe but the time I spent with my own place was pretty nice," he says, smiling to himself at the old memories.

We stand in silence for a moment before Cisco walks in.

"Barry, there you are. Oh, hey Rae. What are you doing here?" Cisco asks me.

"I was just talking with Barry," I tell him as I suddenly remember the bank card and the real reason I came here.

"By the way Barry, Iris is here and wants to talk to you," Cisco informs him. Barry and Cisco start to walk towards the door.

"Are you coming Rae?" Cisco asks, turning to face me.

"I'm just going to stay here for a minute longer," I tell him before both he and Barry leave.

I look at Nora's suit for a moment before I notice some sort of podium at the end of the room.

What's that?

"It used to hold Gideon, an AI future Barry created," Thawne says. I walk up to it and notice a USB port on the side.

I wonder if...

I take the USB I found out of my pocket and am about to put it into the podium when Thawne stops me.

"Don't put that USB in," he growls.

"Why not?" I question curiously.

"The time for you to see that information hasn't come yet," He answers. I roll my eyes but put the USB back in my pocket anyway. I don't feel like getting another migraine.

I exit the time vault and am walking past Cisco's workshop when I notice a guy that looks a lot like Harrison Wells in it. That's odd.

I cautiously walk into the workshop and the Harrison Wells look-a-like whips around to face me.

"Who are you?" he asks curiously.

"Who are you?" I throw back at him. I hear footsteps and turn around to see Cisco.

"Cisco, why is the identical twin of Harrison Wells in S.T.A.R Labs?" I ask him. He laughs a bit awkwardly and rubs the back of his neck.

"Have you ever heard of the multiverse?"

......................

"So you're the Harrison Wells of earth-1's doppelganger?" I ask him, still wrapping my head about the whole multiple earths thing.

"Yup, you can call me Nash," he says. I nod.

"Ok, I'm going now," he says before he leaves the room.

"That's going to take some getting used to," I comment. Cisco nods.

"Yeah, trust me," he says.

I walk over to his shelf and look at all the tools and machines scattered haphazardly over it.

"What's this?" I ask Cisco as I pick up a small, flat triangle shaped device with three blue glowing lights.

"Harry, the Harrison Wells of earth 2, made this for Cecile when she first got her mind reading powers. It's called the Cerebral Inhibitor," Cisco says. I turn it over and inspect it.

"What does it do exactly?" I ask him curiously.

"It is like a mental activity dampener. It can be used to, well dampen mental activity," He explains.

"Could it, say, block out extra brain wave patterns?" I ask. He nods.

"Yeah, it could do that," he says with a shrug. Interesting.

"Hey what's that?" I ask him suddenly, pointing to something behind him. He turns around and I quickly pocket the Cerebral Inhibitor.

"What's what?" he asks as he turns back to face me.

"Uhh, That lego building thing," I ask as I walk up to it.

"Oh that, we built this model when Barry went into the future and saw Savitar kill Iris," he explains. I furrow my eyebrows.

"Why is Barry an astronaut?" I ask curiously.

"Hey, It's the closest thing I could find to his Flash suit," he says defensively. I laugh.

"Ok, ok. I should probably get going now," I tell him. He says goodbye and I quickly leave.

"Why did you take the Cerebral Inhibitor?" Thawne growls.

"No reason," I brush him off as I start walking towards Big Belly Burger. I'm hungry.

......................

I head back to my apartment after eating a burger. It's around 3 o'clock now.

I take out the Cerebral Inhibitor and fiddle around with it for a bit. I wonder how you use it?

"Do not even think about using it," Thawne growls. I roll my eyes.

I wonder if I can...

I carefully stick it to my forehead and immediately feel... Different.

"Thawne? Are you there?" I ask curiously. There is no reply.

It worked! I sigh in relief and flop down on my bed. It is so nice to not have to listen to his irritating voice 24/7.

I wonder if it needs to be charged or get new batteries eventually?

Deciding to worry about that later, I close my eyes and drift off to a peaceful sleep.

......................

"Get up!" Thawne's voice rips me from my sleep. How long was I out?

I check my watch and see it is now 4.15. Guess that answers how long it lasts.

"You used the Cerebral Inhibitor, didn't you?" Thawne growls.

"Nope, of course I didn't. I just took a nap," I lie as I get out of bed.

I brush my hair into a high ponytail and decide to head over to S.T.A.R Labs, being sure to grab the Cerebral Inhibitor before I leave.

...................

I walk into Cisco's workshop to see him practically tearing the place apart.

" What is it?" I ask curiously. He gives a small scream as he jumps to face me, clutching his chest.

"Don't sneak up on me like that!" he exclaims.

"Sorry. What are you looking for?" I ask him. He runs his hand through his hair.

"Remember that thing I told you about, the Cerebral Inhibitor?" he asks. Uh oh.

"Yeah, I remember it," I reply cautiously.

"I can't find it anywhere! What if someone snuck in here and stole it!" he exclaims. I look down guiltily.

"What?" he asks curiously.

"Uhh, I kind, sorta took it when you weren't looking," I say guiltily, rubbing the back of my neck.

"What? Why?" he exclaims. I take it out of my pocket and hand it over to him.

"I'm sorry. I can't tell you why," I tell him. He gets a confused look on his face.

"That's weird, it's completely dead," he says.

"It was like that when I found it?"

Cisco shakes his head.

"No it wasn't, I always keep it charged," he counteracts.

"Uhhh," I try to think of an excuse but come up empty.

I swallow hard and look down to see my hands shaking. No, not shaking, vibrating? That's really weird. I don't have super speed.

"I have to go!" I quickly exclaim before running out of the room.

I feel a weird electricity course through me and all of a sudden I find myself in the time vault.

What on earth is happening to me?

(1305 words)

I hope you enjoyed that.
