( Chapter Twenty )

Lauren's Pov

"How are you doing?" I heard Normani ask as she took a sit next to me.

"Not so good, It's been so lonely without her. You know?" I said back taking a sip of the hot chocolate she had made me.

"I know Lo, But you will be okay I promise you. We will help you get through this." I felt my best friend hug me before I felt tears ran down my face.

"I just can't believe she has been gone for a month." I said as my hands turned into fists.

* Flashback to the night of Camila confronting Shawn * (Still Lauren's Pov)

It had been over an hour since Camila left to  talk to Shawn and I was getting really worried. She wasn't answering my texts and I had this awful sensation on my gut.

"Guys, I think we should go check up on her. At least look through the window to see that she's okay" I said turning to Dinah and Normani who were also worried for their friend.

"I agree, let me grab a bat just in case." Dinah said before storming off into her room and came back a few seconds later with a pink princess bat.

"Babe as tough as you want to be I don't think that bat helps you achieve that" Normani said as I laughed at how funny Dinah looked.

"It's not about the outside of the bat is about how hard imma smash his face if he touched her." She said angrily. That was our cue to leave.

I was driving insanely fast to Camila's house as we got closer I just felt this darkness inside me, If Shawn laid a finger on her I would kill that motherfucker. I was getting so heated of just thinking about it. So as soon as I parked in front of her house I busted out the car without thinking I opened her front door and there he was on top of her, she looked paler than me.

"GET THE FUCK OFF OF HER" I yelled as I ran towards him throwing myself on top of his body and pushing him off Camila.

"Oh my god" I heard Normani yell as she took out her phone and dialed 911.

"You son of a bitch" I heard Dinah from just behind me as I saw a bat flew right in front of me and into his stomach as Shawn cried out loud in pain, as Dinah was about to hit him again Normani grabbed her from behind and pulled her back as she repeated "He's not worth it, He's not worth it".

I saw Dinah crying as she kneeled next to Camila's lifeless body, I couldn't move from top of Shawn I didn't want to risk the chance of him running away.

"You are going to pay for this" I said as I punched him once, twice, three times making his lip bleed.

"Doesn't matter, I took her away from you." He said as the police arrived just in time before I had the chance to punch him again.

Everything after that moment moved in slow motion, I saw as the paramedics were doing CPR on Camila, Normani kept a hold on Dinah as we all stared at my girlfriends pale body just laying there.

I couldn't believe I wasn't going to hear her laugh, or see her brown beautiful eyes, or the way she always made me stop in the middle of the street to pick up a stray dog so we could take him to the shelter. She had the biggest heart and I couldn't believe that was taken away from me, I couldn't hold it in anymore and I started crying hysterically.

I was having a panic attack and I couldn't breath, I felt my chest close up and I saw a paramedic approach me as he gave me an oxygen mask and everything went black.

I woke up a few hours later and looked around the room, I was laying in a hospital bed. Across from me in a tiny couch was Dinah and on top of her Normani.

"Mani" I whispered my throat felt dry.

"Lauren, oh my god finally. How are you feeling babe?" I felt Normani grabbed my hand.

"How is she?" I asked shakily, Her grip on my hand tighten as she looked back at Dinah who was wiping tears off her face.

"Lauren, you have to be really strong" Dinah said approaching my bed from the other side as she grabbed my hand.

"What the fuck happened?" I asked angrily.

"The paramedics did everything they.."

"Get out" I yelled, tears streaming down my face, my chest started to close up once more as I pulled the oxygen mask off my face.

"No stop" Dinah yelled pushing me back.

"She is alive" Normani let out as I cried even harder.

"But she was technically dead for so many minutes that oxygen stopped flowing to her brain and she was induced into a.. Coma" Dinah finished, I started to breath again.

She was alive and that's all I cared for.

"Did they say when she would wake up?" I asked curiously.

"The doctors said anywhere from a day to 10 years" Normani said her voice shaky.

"No timeframe we just have to wait" Dinah said tears running down her face as well.

"We called Ally and said she was taking the next fly out home. We're all here for you and her. We will get through this" Normani said before a nurse walked in to check on me.

"Can I see her?" I asked.

"I will get a wheelchair" the nurse answered knowing who I was talking about.

"You saved her Lo, If you had taken even a second longer she would of died. They wouldn't have been able to save her." Normani said giving me a kiss on my cheek.

"Thank you." Dinah said as she gave my forehead a loving kiss. They were going to go home to take a shower and give me some alone time with Camila.

A few minutes later I was standing next to Camila, she looked beautiful even in a hospital gown connected to all of this machines. I started to tear up as I gave her forehead a little kiss, I missed feeling her, I missed her laugh and I missed her horrible jokes.

"I am so so sorry Camila" I said holding on to her hand. "If I would of just went with you this wouldn't be happening. You wouldn't be here, Sorry. I love you so much, please come back to me."

** Flashback Over ***

"Hey guys" I heard Ally and Dinah enter Camila's hospital room as me and Normani ate a pizza.

"What's up? How is the wedding planning going?" I asked, I hadn't been that involved with the whole planning because I wanted to be next to Camila when she woke up.

"It's fucking crazy, Ally keeps wanting me to get drown in a river." Dinah said as she approached Mani giving her a small peck on the lips and then leaned over to Camila to give her a kiss on her cheek.

"What are you talking about now?" Normani asked chuckling, knowing how Dinah would always exaggerate about everything.

"She wants me to get baptized before I marry you, She wants me to go to some dirty ass river while a man holds my head underwater. I think she wants you all for herself" Dinah said as she sat on the couch with a small pout on her face.

"You have to get baptized D, you know Mani is religious and that would mean a lot to her she just doesn't want to say anything plus that's not even how it works." Ally said grabbing a slice of pizza from the box.

"Well, whatever. I will do it just for Normani but just know I am not happy about it. If Camila was here she would totally be on my side." Dinah gave me a sad look.

"It's okay Dinah you can talk about Camila, She is here. Yeah it's been a horrible month but the doctors say that there has been a lot of activity on her brain, they expect her to wake up any moment." I said happily as I grabbed Camila's hand.

"They said any moment from two weeks ago to a few years." Dinah said, Normani gave her a scolding look.

"I know she will wake up, we will keep praying for her Lo." Ally said flashing me a big smile.

"Plus she reacts more when you sing to her, The doctors have said it. She will come back to you, just keep singing." My best friend was right, we always got the more positive results after I sang to her. It's like she could hear me and wanted to wake up but she needed just a little push and I was willing to do anything for her to open her beautiful brown eyes again.

"How is Sinu doing?" Ally asked curiously.

"She is holding on, She was here earlier with Sofi but I told her to go home and rest. I keep her updated with hourly texts but I mean there's nothing to say." I sighed heavily.

"Maybe you should sing her the new song you wrote for her, it's truly beautiful Lo" Normani said getting up to walk to the corner of the room to where my guitar was laying, well Camila's guitar.

"Is that Camila's guitar? She would kill you if she knew you were touching it." Dinah scolded me.

"It is, I wanted to feel more in touch with her. She loves that guitar possibly more than me." I joked making my friends chuckle.

"Oh she does." Dinah said back as Normani slapped her arm playfully.

"Well show us the song." Ally urged.

"Okay okay. ." My friends nodded and I started to play.

"God I'm going to lose my shit" Dinah whispered loudly.

I finished playing and looked up to see my three friends in tears.

"I told you I was going to lose it" Dinah said wiping tears off her eyes.

"That song is amazing Lo, All that love you have for her will bring her back to us." Ally said embracing me in a hug.

"I hope so Ally." I whispered looking back at Camila who was still laying there.

"Have you talked to Shawn's lawyer?" Normani asked, Everything about that night replayed on my mind once more and I felt the anger rise.

"Yes, he updated me with the results of the trial." I said as I tried to relax my muscles.

"Well what happened?" Dinah asked grabbing my hand in support.

"They, They gave him 10 years. Just 10 fucking years." I wiped a tear falling from my right eye.

"Those motherfuckers." Dinah said loudly.

"Dinah." Ally yelled.

"I just hope he drops the soap." Dinah said loudly so that the whole hospital could hear.

"JANE" Ally yelled even louder.

"I'm sorry Ally but it's true he deserves the worst."

"God will take care of him." The shorter girl said.

"Oh he will, Lets just keep being here for Camila." Normani said smiling.

"You guys can go, I'll text if anything changes." I said, I wanted to be alone with my girl.

"Okay Lo, Text us as soon as something happens." Dinah said as they all waved goodbye.

** 2 weeks later **

"So Dinah and Normani are getting married in two weeks babe, you have to wake up so you can be hear or I'll be dateless" I said as I did my daily routine of talking to Camila.

A few days ago the doctors were slowly giving up hope of her waking up any time soon, But I knew she would. I kept singing to her every night the song I had written for her.

Me, Sinu and Sofi spend most of our days here as my friends kept busy with their wedding planning. I basically lived in the hospital. I was making my way to get some food since Camila seemed pretty much the same as the last few weeks.

"Hey Emily how are you feeling today?" I asked a patient I had befriended.

"Great, My leg is getting better so I can actually go to the bathroom by myself. How is Camila?" She asked as she grabbed an apple, we were having lunch together at the hospitals cafeteria as she said I needed a break.

"She is still holding on." I said weakly.

"Hey hey she will wake up, you'll see. Never lose faith, and when she does wake up you have to invite me to the wedding, me an Allison would love to be there." I nodded, we talk for a few more minutes before I made my way back to my girlfriends room, It took me a while longer since I was being stopped by random patients that knew me. I was quite famous.

"Hi Camila" I said as I entered the room, I laid down next to her and told her about my day. I had fallen asleep but was woken up when I felt a hand running through my hair.

"Hi Lauren" I heard her weak voice say.

I Jumped off of bed.

"Oh my god, you're awake" I screamed as I leaned in and gave her face small kisses.

"I couldn't leave you alone now, Could I?" She said back. I started to cry as I ran out the room to get doctors and nurses to get her checked.

While they did their thing I stood outside the room looking at her, she was smiling at me and I couldn't help but cry. My girl had finally come back to me.

I sent a group text to our friends and her mom, they all were on their way.

I waited a few more minutes when the doctors said that everything looked fine, she needed to stay a few more days to keep an eye on her but she could go home after. I thanked them and ran back to the girl of my dreams.

"Fuck I missed you so much" I said laying next to her, while holding her hand. I couldn't stop kissing her and I loved just looking at those beautiful brown eyes that were so full of life.

"I missed you more, Thank you Lo." She said, I was surprised on to why she was thanking me and she could clearly see the confusion on my face.

"You're my hero" She said leaning in giving me a kiss, god, those lips I could kiss her forever. Unfortunately, our friends and family got here and I gave them time to be with her.

"Mija welcome back" Sinu said embracing her daughter in a hug.

"Mom I never left" Camila giggled, I stood behind watching everyone hug her and kiss her.

Our eyes connected for a few seconds and I felt the butterflies in my stomach go crazy.

My girl was back and this time I would never let her go again.

A/N: Yas! She's alive, Lol. I couldn't kill Camila, I was going to but nop. My heart couldn't handle a fake death. Not after TAT! Anyways, Hope you enjoy this update I had this chapter so planned out in my head I couldn't wait to write it.
