a mothers love

It was clarissas 11th birthday. Olivia and amanda were finishing putting up decorations while sonny had taken all the kids out for breakfast at IHOP.

"I can't believe she's already 11." Amanda smiled.

"I know time does fly." Olivia replied with a small laugh.

"She's a strong kid too. She's really doing well after all you guys have been through." Amanda continued.

Olivia half smiled "yeah..." she sighed "but she's still haveing nightmares. Not as often as she used to but...still."

"That's understandable liv after the trauma she's been through...and seen." Amanda tried to comfort her friend.

"I know. But now since I told her more about william I feel like maybe I triggered them back." Olivia said feeling partly responsible.

"That's not your fault liv. She asked and she deserved to know the truth." Amanda said touching Olivia's shoulder gently.

Olivia nodded but still didn't believe her but couldn't talk about it anymore as she heard her apartment door open and sonny walk in with her two kids and Amanda's 2 girls.

Clarissa looked around and smiled big. "Wow mama it looks good."

Olivia smiled and hugged her daughter "I'm glad you like it my love."

"I do a lot. And you used my favorite color streamers!" She giggled.

Amanda laughed lightly "what else would you expect babydoll?"

Clarissa hugged both women tightly.

Olivia smiled "ok my love why don't you go get dressed in to the new birthday outfit we got the other day and by the time your done your friends and the rest of the family will be here ok?"

Clarissa rushed off smiling to her room to change.

The party went amazingly. Clarissa got gifts from the entire squad and several friends. Everyone had pizza and ate cake.

As the party slowly came to an end people began to leave until it was once again just Olivia, Amanda, sonny and the kids. The kids went to go play while the adults began the clean up.

"Well I'd call that a success." Amanda said as she was throwing torn up wrapping paper in to a large garbage bag.

"She was happy and had fun and that is what really matters." Olivia smiled as she rinced off dishes.

Sonny laughed "except soon comes the teen years. So looks like I'll have to come over and clean my gun around here when she starts dating?"

Both women laughed but amanda said "please she's 11. Plus I'm pretty sure liv can intimidate any boy that tries to come near her all on her own." Amanda joked.

"Ok ok can we not talk about my 11 year old haveing a boyfriend? I am barely ok with her haveing friends that are boys." Olivia said laughing it off.

After helping Amanda and sonny out she came back in and got noah to bed first then went to clarissas room. She knocked softly and walked in seeing Clarissa getting in to bed. "Hey my love. Did you have a good birthday?" She asked sitting on the edge of her bed.

"Yeah mama. Thank you." She smiled tiredly. "And mama...thank you for choosing me." She said as her voice became more sleepy.

Olivia kissed her daughters head and stroked her hair. "If I had to do it again I'd always choose you." She whispered.

Clarissa smiled as she fell asleep.
