Cody was dreading Lydia's party. She had no desire to stand in the corner of a crowded room filled with a bunch of people she didn't want to talk to. But Allison had somehow suckered her in to saying yes.

Cody riffled through her closet once again, desperately searching for something to wear. Her wide assortment of superhero T-shirts wouldn't work for a party outfit. Especially a party at Lydia's. She had a sundress her mom had bought her years ago that she had worn once, but it was way too cold for that. The only other two dresses she owners were her homecoming dress and the one she had worn to Kate's funeral, both of which were way to formal. Cody closed her closet door with a huff. Jeans and a T-shirt would just have to do.

Cody sat down at her desk, thinking about the other night at the club. All she knew was that Derek had managed to get Scott out and he was safe, but that was the only information she had. Derek saves Scott. But Jackson got away. And now they were all going to Lydia's to have some stupid party and pretend their lives weren't in total chaos. Cody has a bad feeling about the party, but that was nothing new. She had a a bad feeling about everything nowadays.

Stiles parked on the street in front of Lydia's house, but neither he nor Cody moved to get out.

"I don't want to," grumbled Cody, crossing her arms over her chest like a child.

"It'll be fun," said Stiles, but even he didn't sound convinced.

Cody's brows furrowed into a scowl. "This is stupid," she continued to protest. "We should be trying to stop Jackson and instead we're going to some stupid party of a girl who doesn't even give a damn about us."

"Hey!" Stiles protested.

"Oh, come on, Stiles," snapped Cody. "She barely acknowledges your existence. She wouldn't even care if you didn't show up."

Stiles' face fell into a pout. "She would notice." Cody didn't have the heart to argue about it anymore.

She got out and stood in front of the Jeep, her arms crossed to show her irritation.

From the back of the Jeep, Stiles called, "Hey, can you come help me with this?"

"No way," Cody fired back. "You decided to bring her that ridiculous gift. You deal with it." She began making her up to Lydia's front door, Stiles struggling with the giant package behind her.

When Lydia opened the front door Stiles loudly exclaimed, "Happy birthday!"

Lydia looked from Cody to Stiles to the giant present he was trying to shove through the doorway. He asked her for help but she just stared at him, then turned to walk away, calling, "Dont forget to try the punch!"

Cody rolled her eyes at Stiles. "Dude," she said. "That was rough."

They made their way through the house and put to the pool where Allison and Scott were waiting.

"Ok, I have a development in the case," Stiles said once they had all gathered together. "It appears that whoever is controlling the kanima hates the 2006 swim team."

Cody narrowed her eyed at him. "What? Why?"

Stiles shrugged. "How should I know? All I know is that everyone the kanima killed was one the swim team, except Isaac'a dad, who was the coach."

"So that leaves us where?" Asked Scott.

"I don't know," said Stiles. "I said I had a development not that I'd cracked the case."

The four fell quiet as they all looked around Lydia's empty backyard.

"Where is everyone?" Asked Allison.

"I don't think anyone is coming," said Cody.

Stiles scoffed. "Probably cuz Lydia has turned into the town whackjob."

"We should do something to get more people here," said Allison. "I feel bad. We've been ignoring her the past few weeks."

Cody rolled her eyes but it was Scott who spoke up first.

"So? She's been ignoring Stiles for the past ten years. We don't owe her anything."

Allison turned to Scott. "Well, she wouldn't be the town whackjob if it weren't for us."

"It's not our fault Peter attacked her or that she's reacted so...baldly," Cody protested.

"Come on, guys," said Allison, looking around the empty backyard. "We have to do something. This is pathetic."

"I can get the lacrosse team here," said Scott.

"Yeah," Stiles jumped in. "I know a few people who could really get this party going." The two boys pulled out there phones and started dialing. Cody hopes the party picked up soon so she could sneak out.

Cody sighed. "You guys really aren't going to let me leave, huh?"

Cody stood with Allison by the pool as her sister awkwardly looked over at Scott and stiles every few seconds.

"Just go over there and talk to him," Cody signed, tired of their melodrama. Allison shook her head. "Why are you mad at him again?"

Allison sighed. "The plans for the concert didn't really go the way they were supposed to."

Cody narrowed her eyes. "And that's your fault?"

Allison shrugged. "I guess."

Cody let out an exasperated huff and rolled her eyes. "Can you two act like grown ups for five seconds? Just go talk to him."

Allison's face narrows into a scowl. "We're not acting like grown ups?" She snapped. "What about you and your whole thing with Isaac and Der—"

"Ugh!" Cody exclaimed. "I don't know. I'm not talking about this anymore. Put the stick down, Allison, the horse is dead."

"Well—" Allison started, but was interrupted by Lydia making her way over with a tray of drinks.

"Here," she said, offering the glass to Cody. "Try the punch."

Cody looked down at the pink liquid on the glass. "What's in it?" She asked.

"Vodka-" Lydia started, but Cody cut her off.

"Great," said Cody, talking a big drink. She turned back to Allison. "Just go talk to Scott." And with that, she walked back into the house.

She was walking through the living room when she started to feel weird. It was like a lite floating sensation. She took the last drink of her punch and then set the glass down on a table. The room started to spin and Cody squeezed her eyes shut, but when she opened them the spinning had stopped. She kept walking, wondering what the hell that had been about.

She drifted into the dining room and saw Allison out of the corner of her eye. She turned towards her, Allison looking right at her, but something was wrong. Allison was looking at her like she was terrified. Before Cody could ask what was wrong a tear of blood leaked out of Allison's eye and she fell to the floor, dead.

"Allison!" Cody shrieked.

But Stiles and Scott were next to Allison, crying blood and staring at her in terror.

"Cody, stop," Scott chokes out.

"You're killing us," cried Stiles.

Other voices shouted at her too and she could see around the room that Isaac and Derek were screaming too. Everyone fell to the ground, their wyes frozen in terror, blood dripping down their faces. Dead.

Cody could barely catch her breath. She gasped for air as the terror courses through her body. She turned and saw her reflection in the window and blood ran down her face. But her eyes were completely black too. She closed her eyes tightly and let out scream of terror, the force shattering the large windows in the dining room.

When she opened her eye, everything was back to normal.

The elevator doors opened to the fifth floor of the hospital and Allison and Cody quickly made their way out. Their dad was standing in front of a closed door. Behind him, through the windows, Cody could see a covered body on a gurney.

Her stomach dropped and she felt like the air had been knocked out of her. All her dad had told them was that something had happened to their mom. Allison was yelling at their dad, screaming that if this was some training exercise he better tell her.

Cody clamped a hand over here mouth. She felt like the wind had been knocked out of her, like someone had punched her in the gut. Her eyes sting from tears that needed to be released.

"What happened?" Allison shrieked. "What happened?"

Cody couldn't move. She couldn't breathe. Her mother was dead. And somewhere, deep down, she knew it had something to do with the monsters in town. Something to do with her.
