Seeing Red

00:33, 11 June 2024

"I thought we told you no weapons." A voice sighed, coming up behind Violet as she shot an arrow into a tree and turned around.

"You said no weapons inside the gate. I'm outside." Violet smirked, getting another arrow ready to shoot. "Hey, what the hell!" She grumbled, the guard pulling her bow out from behind her. "You're wanted inside, for a meeting."

"I think I'll pass. Unless they have cookies.""They don't have cookies, Violet, inside." She groaned under her breath, leaving her bow with the guard. She walked inside the Ark, down the main hallway, she could hear several voices arguing with each other. "She was there too! And frankly, I'm not on board with forcing her to go back!"

Violet pulled open the door to the meeting room, and pulled it shut behind her as all the eyes in the room followed to look at her. "Hi." "Hi, Violet." A few of the voices quietly mumbled. "This is weird, what's this about?" She smiled nervously, walking up towards Murphy as she stood besides him.

"Violet. Jasper, Monty, Harper, Miller- they're alive." Clarke spoke. Violet swallowed, "What?"  Clarke nodded, "They're all alive, Violet.""Are they here?""No. Not yet, that's why we're having this meeting." "Okay? How do you know they're alive? Did you talk to them? Can I talk to them too?" "Not yet-" she spoke, stopping in the middle of her thought. "Cut to the chase, Clarke. It's the only reason we brought her here." Murphy argued, visibly pissed off. "We need to go back, to Mount Weather-"

"No. I won't do it." Violet didn't give Clarke another chance to speak, before standing up and hightailing it for the door. "Oh, shit." Her breathing hitched, as she opened the door to a bunch of grounders standing outside, and Kane. Violet froze in her spot, staring at Kane as someone grabbed her hand, pulling her back to an empty area by the back wall.

Violet stood frozen in place, too afraid to move.

The group of grounders filled in the room quickly, all of them looking just as pissed as everyone else in the room.

"Quiet down." Kane spoke up, "I know we don't have a lot in common.

Violet sighed, dreading the upcoming speech.

"But we do have a common enemy, and a common goal. And for us to reach it, to get our people out of Mount Weather, we need to work together. Skaikru, and Trikru."

Violet felt sick to her stomach already. She could tell where this conversation was headed.

"You got a problem?"  Murphy muttered, pulling Violet closer to him. She looked up as one of the Grounders stood over them, tauntingly, speaking in their own language. "I'm sorry man, I don't speak grounder." He spoke with a sarcastic tone, that only pissed him off more. He shoved Murphy as Murphy shoved back, and Kane's shouting stopped them.

"Mr. Murphy.  Apologize to that man." Kane ordered.

"For what?" Murphy asked, staring at the grounder. "He was the one who came at me."

"Two days work detail."

"Work detail? I just told you I didn't-"

"Care to make it three?"

Murphy grumbled, moving himself away from the grounder.

"You're gonna burn just like your friend."

Murphy turned around quickly, punching the grounder in the face. The grounder retaliated, throwing punches right back at him.

"Murphy!" Violet shouted, grabbing his hand as he pulled away, punching him again.

"Murphy, back off!"

As people began rushing towards them, yelling at them to knock it off, and trying to shove through each other, nobody noticed Violet get knocked down to the floor, being stepped on as people shoved past her.

"MURPHY! Murphy, knock it off!"

"Get off each other!"

"G-get off of me! Hey!" Someone's boot came slamming down on her wrist, as Violet screamed loud enough to startle the room into silence.

"V-Violet, where's Violet?"

"Move!" Kane yelled, shoving his own people out of the way as he found Violet sitting on the floor, holding her wrist. Kane tried to help her up, as she yelled at him, "DON'T TOUCH ME!" She stood up angrily, cussing under her breath as she walked out. "Violet! We aren't done here!" Kane called after her.

"Go float yourself!"
