Chapter 4
06:27, 25 March 2013“More?” He spoke up breaking the eerie silence that fell around us. His voice was barely audible as I stared into his eyes; they literally matched the frown on his face.
There’s that feeling again. I felt disgusting.
I cleared my throat and tried to block everything out, it’s for the money. Clearly he wants this since he came in here so I have to give it to him. I went to go sit on his lap but he grabbed my waist pushing me back.
I looked at him in disbelief. This was the first time EVER that a male has ever rejected me from trying to please him.
“No… No.” He shook his head as his eyes shut. I just stood there my mouth slightly agape. For the first time in quite a while I felt… awkward. “I can’t, I just…. Why?” He looked up at me and my gaze immediately turned away from him.
“Can we please just do this so that I can get my damn money and go home?” I spat through gritted teeth as I clenched my fists tighter.
“I’ll give you the money, I just can’t do this. But first you have to tell me why?” He leaned back in the chair and crossed his arms. I could feel his eyes burning into the top of my head as I looked down at the ground.
“W-why what?” I asked quietly knowing fully well what he wanted to know.
“Dammit! Tell me why you’re here!” He shouted and I jumped back a bit as the silent echo of his loud shout bounced around the nearly empty room. “I-I’m sorry, It’s been a long day and my patience is so thin… just please, please tell me.” He said to me his voice lowering as he pleaded.
I bit my lip nervously trying to think of a lie, anything to make the situation I was in sound better than it was. There was none.
How can you make, My Uncle turned me into a prostitute when I was 13 years old, I’ve been on crack since then and now I have to be a stripper to give him money so he won’t rape or abuse me, sound good? You can’t.
“Uh, well… I don’t know.” I sighed running my hands over my face. “I don’t want to be here but… but I have to.” I replied, dragging out the word have. “It’s just… it’s complicated is all.”
“I want to help you. You shouldn’t be here, you don’t have to be.” I watched as he stood up and walked over to me.
“Yes I do! You don’t understand! I do have to be here! I’m too far in to be saved, it’s over. Everything’s shit and there is nothing I can do about it!” I cried pulling at my hair in frustration. “You don’t understand and you never will!”
“If you tell me maybe I will understand, maybe I can help you!” He placed his hand underneath my chin and raised it up slowly so I was looking up at him. His lips slightly parted as his alcohol scented breath fanned my face. “I have to help you.”
He has to help me? Why does he have to help me? Why would he even want to!?
“No… no… I-I can’t I just I-I have to go.” I stuttered out tearing myself away from him and running behind the curtain. I quickly put on my coat and grabbed my bag.
“Heaven wait!” The boy called out to me as I ran past him. What was his name? Angel. I’ll call him Angel only because he is the first person to ever ask me why, or say that he can help me. Angel.
I ran out of the door and down the long corridor my eyes locked on the door at the end. I could hear his footsteps behind me as I reached for the doorknob quickly twisting it open.
The main room of the club was more packed then before, music blaring, more than one woman on the stage now and the men were all drunk and horny. I made my way up the side aisle pulling the hoodie of my old black jacket up.
“Coco, I will see you tomorrow night! Thank you!” I called to her as I rushed past the front desk. I caught a quick glimpse of her smiling face as she looked up before I ran out the door, the single bell ringing off.
I need to get home.
“Heaven stop I can help you!” I looked behind me for a moment to see this boy jogging after me. He wouldn’t give up, maybe he really was an Angel.
My Angel. Could I even have an Angel? I thought Angels were only given to people God liked, or for that matter people who liked God.
I couldn’t have an Angel. I don’t even believe in a God, how could I? After all the shit I’ve been through it’s hard to imagine there is someone up there that cares about and loves me.
I turned the corner watching as a taxi pulled up letting out a passenger. I quickly ran up to it and jumped in slamming the door shut. “Straight.” I told the guy and he quickly sped off into the London city streets. The streets were illuminated by the beautiful lights of different building and famous venues that were hosting parties.
I looked back not seeing my Angel anywhere in sight, thank goodness.
I directed the guy to the place I call my home, if I even could and paid him what I could trying to save as much money for my Uncle.
Shit. I hadn’t made that last 100. “Are ya gettin’ out er what?!” The man spat at me and I nodded hopping out of the car quickly.
The cool wind whipped at my bare legs as I slowly walked up the path of the small house. The screen door squeaking as it swung back and forth with the wind. My hand was trembling as I reached for the rusty old doorknob.
“A little late don’t you think!?” My Uncles voice rang through my ears as he pulled the door open. He grabbed my arm and dragged me inside behind his stumbling figure, clearly wasted. Not good.
“Uh, Sir I uh I didn’t make the money.” I whispered and he turned around my cheek stinging as his hand slapped it.
“I told you not to come home unless you did!” He shouted slapping me again roughly.
“I’m just 100 short.” I whimpered rubbing my cheek. “I-I’m sorry sir.”
“You should be. Give me the money.” He growled holding out his hand. I reached into my pocket searching for the money and pulled it out quickly shoving it into his palm. He sat there counting it and looked up at me, his eyes like stone.
“Make me some food and meet me in my room so I can teach you a lesson.” He smiled evilly at me as he walked down the hall holding onto the wall for support.
I took in a shaky breath as I made my way to the kitchen after hanging up my coat. I looked through the fridge but there was literally no food, what the hell am I supposed to make?
I stood back up and quickly looked in the reflection of the microwave. My cheeks were completely red, my eye make-up was all down my cheeks and my hair was everywhere.
I rummaged through the cabinets finding some peanut butter and jelly. I pulled out the last two pieces of bread from the crisper and put them on the plate. I swiped on the ingredients before cleaning up the mess and heading off to my Uncle’s room.
Just as I was about to enter the room the plate dropped and shattered all over the wood floor. “Can you do anything right!?” He screamed pacing over to me. I crouched down and began to scoop up the pieces of ceramic into my hair when I felt his hand grasp my hair. He pulled me up to my feet grabbing my face.
“You’re a worthless piece of trash who can’t do shit! How the hell am I supposed to leave you alone for a month while I go to Scotland to handle business!?” He snapped and dragged me over to his bed throwing me down onto it.
“I am s-so sorry.” I whimpered as his hands gripped my waist pushing down hard.
“Yeah you will be! Now listen closely.” He leaned over my body getting close to my face. “I’m leaving for an entire month… I have some people to meet up with about… some stuff…. I want 20 grand waiting for me when I get back. IF I find out you pull any funny shit while I’m gone I will end your life.”
I took in a sharp breath as his words registered in my mind. I nodded biting my trembling lip desperately trying to hold back tears. “Y-yes sir.”
“Good. Also if I come back and you have escaped… I will find you and I will kill you.” He whispered the last part in my ear. His deep husky voice making me shiver. “Now baby, do you remember the last time you didn’t get me the money I needed?” He asked pulling back a bit as an evil grimace sat upon his chapped up lips.
I nodded looking to the side trying to move away from him. “And to think you would have learned.” He chuckled sitting on top of my waist. “Hopefully you will this time princess.”
He ran his hands up my chest groping my breasts as a silent sob left my lips. “P-please stop.” I begged squirming beneath him.
“Oh you don’t like this?” He asked his voice teasing as he smirked at my discomfort. I shook my head and his facial features hardened. “Fine we’ll do it MY way.” He got off me and grabbed my ankles pulling me off the bed, my back hitting the floor as I cried out in pain. “Do you like this way better, huh?” He growled kicking m right shin.
All of a sudden the sound of a phone ringing became audible. “You got lucky. Got to your room and don’t fucking come out until I say so.” He walked away and over to his night stand picking up the cell phone. “Hey love.” He answered his voice sweet and caring.
I felt nauseous as I walked past him, his hand smacking my butt. I ran over to the basement door and down the stairs into my ‘room.’
When will it end?
Never. The little voice in my head spoke up. It will never end.
I cried as I fell onto my cot reaching over into my drawer searching for my escape. Where the hell was it?
Shit I was supposed to get more with my extra money. Looks like two people got screwed over with my mess up.
I sighed and crawled under my blanket. My stomach was growling as I curled up tighter into a ball trying to get warm as the draft of cool air through the broken window pane seeped in.
A whole month away from the devil yeah? I remind myself of my Uncles words. Maybe some time away from the Devil will allow me to get help… help from an Angel.
Because I do need help. I desperately need help.
I need an Angel or maybe even a miracle…
