06:00, 27 November 2015I woke up as I felt Noah being lifted off of my chest. As I woke up I saw Joe lifting him off my chest.
"Morning baby," Joe smiled to me as he cradled Noah.
"Mm, good morning."
"How're you feeling? Any better now that you've gotten some rest?"
"Yeah a bit better. Before we leave, I think I'll take a quick shower because I still feel sweaty and gross from yesterday," I explained.
"Go ahead, whenever you want. Aubrey said she still wants to run some tests on you to make sure something about the oxytocin left your system?" Joe shrugged.
"Okay," I nodded.
"I still can't believe this is real," Joe laughed lightly.
"I know, it's amazing."
"Hi Noah, it's Daddy. You're so handsome and I already know you're going to be a great boy."
I closed my eyes and rested for a while. Even though I just woke up from a night's sleep, I am still tired. Although, I think it's quite understandable as I just gave birth.
"Good morning Minx. So, today you'll be discharged, but I still would like to run a few tests to make sure everything is as it should be. Feel free to freshen up as you need to and I will run those tests in about an hour. I have another mother expectant soon, so I need to check up on her, but I will be right back afterwards, which gives you time to freshen up," Aubrey smiled.
"Alright, thank you."
"And I don't mean to sound prudent, but Noah will need feeding more than you think, so don't worry, you can't overfeed him at this point, but you can underfeed him, so make sure you are feeding him, yeah?" Aubrey smiled before she left.
"Thank you again," I smiled.
"No problem, it's my job!" She nodded.
Joe laid Noah on my chest again and he quickly started feeding. I laid there and Joe and I just talked for a while, while Noah ate. Once he finished, Joe took care of him, by instructions of another nurse that came in to help us a bit with knowing what to do. I slowly got up and took a quick shower in the bathroom connected to my room. I got changed in the clothes I had brought to go home in. Aubrey had mentioned the last tests were just blood-work, so I was free to get dressed. I put on my slippers and a tiny bit on make-up just to make myself feel a bit more comfortable and confident. Joe and I had already decided that we are initially going back to his flat so Caspar can meet Noah and then Graham is visiting to see Noah too and then next weekend Joe's mum is going to come over and meet Noah too.
"Okay Minx, I'm just going to take some blood tests from your IV and quickly have them checked and then we'll officially discharge you and you and your little man can head home," Aubrey smiled as she came in with some empty vials to take my blood in.
After some quick and easy tests, Aubrey went to go get the blood-work tested and brought in the paperwork for us to sign as well as Noah's birth certificate and other paperwork. I signed all the paperwork and then Aubrey came back to say that the tests all came back good, so we're free to go home.
"Thank you so much," I smiled.
"You're welcome, love. If you have any questions feel free to call the maternity ward and we're here to answer any questions you might have, alright?" Aubrey smiled.
"Okay, thank you again."
Another nurse came in with a wheelchair and had me sit down on it and I held Noah while Joe took down the bags and went to pull the car around. The nurse wheeled me down to the main entrance and we met up with Joe. I buckled Noah into his car seat and sat in the back with him on the drive back to Joe and Caspar's flat.
"Look at our little family," I smiled as Joe drove and Noah was asleep in his car seat.
"I'm so happy," Joe grinned as he drove.
"Me too," I nodded.
We pulled up to the flat and Joe carried Noah inside in the baby-carrier.
"Hello," I smiled as Caspar was sat on the sofa on his laptop, editing.
"Minx?! How are you feeling? Sit down! Where's Noah?"
Joe came inside and closed the door.
"Joe has him," I smiled as I went to sit on the sofa.
Caspar rushed over and Joe gently set the baby-carrier on the sofa next to me and Caspar looked at Noah.
"Oh my God! He looks just like the both of you!" Caspar gushed.
"Well that's good," Joe laughed.
"Who else would he look like?" I laughed at Caspar's remark.
"Did it hurt, Minx?"
"Like h.ell!"
"I'm sorry," Caspar apologised.
"But she did a great job!" Joe piped in.
"C-can I hold him?" Caspar asked.
"Yeah, hold on."
I gently unbuckled Noah and took him out of the baby-carrier and passed him to Caspar. His eyes were open and he was looking around.
"He is literally the cutest baby I've ever seen!" Caspar smiled.
I slowly stood up and gave Joe a hug and kiss.
"You honestly did an amazing job," Joe said quietly into my ear.
"Mm, thank you, baby," I smiled, giving him another kiss.
I went on my phone and uploaded pictures of Joe and I and Noah on my social medias and I saw Joe had already too.
"I'll probably upload the vlog later when I have time to edit it and what-not," Joe shrugged.
"Okay baby," I nodded, giving him a kiss again.
I looked over to Caspar and he was taking a selfie with Noah. I went to sit down again and Caspar gently handed Noah back to me and Joe handed me a small baby blanket so I could feed him.
"How does it feel to be parents?" Caspar smiled.
"Crazy," I laughed lightly.
"You guys have a child! Oh my God! That's crazy," Caspar laughed.
"Mhm," I nodded.
Joe sat next to me with his laptop and uploaded the content of his vlog onto his laptop and started editing it while I fed Noah.
"Shh," I hummed as Noah started crying.
I held him against my chest and gently burped him.
"It's okay, it's okay," I said quietly, trying to soothe Noah.
"Does his nappy need changing?" Joe asked.
"No, I changed it right before we left the hospital," I said, checking his nappy again to make sure it doesn't need changing again, "No."
I tried to soothe Noah by burping him and he soon calmed down thankfully.
"If you need anything, just let me know honey. How is Noah doing?" I got a text from my mum.
"My dad just texted saying he's almost here," Joe smiled as he moved his laptop to the side and took Noah from me.
"Okay," I smiled at the same time as I typed a quick reply to my mum to let her know everything is going well.
"Noah!" Joe cooed, playing with his hands.
"Imagine when he's older and we can teach him to play Fifa!" Caspar laughed.
"Oh God," I laughed lightly.
"Yes!" Joe cheered, agreeing with Caspar.
"I think we have a while before that, thankfully," I laughed lightly.
"Oh! Grandaddy Sugg's here!" Joe smiled to Noah as he carried him over to the door to let Graham.
"Noah!" Graham smiled as he came in and took Noah from Joe.
"Gentle," Joe said out of caution.
"Joe, I know. How do you think you got here?" Graham laughed.
"Yeah, yeah, alright," Joe waved him off as he came to sit next to me again.
"How are you feeling Minx?" Graham asked.
"Good, thank you," I smiled.
Graham held Noah and sat down on a chair.
"Your daddy's a d.ickhead, hopefully you take most after your mum," Graham cooed to Noah.
"Dad!" Joe laughed.
I smiled and leaned against Joe's shoulder, giving him a small kiss.
"I love you," Joe smiled.
"I love you too," I smiled, giving him another small kiss.
"Now, now, you two! There's a child in the room!" Caspar laughed.
"Three of them, by the looks of it!" Joe laughed.
"Looks like four to me," I laughed.
"And to think you were my favourite, Minx!" Graham joked.
"I'm sorry!" I laughed lightly.
Noah started crying and Graham tried to soothe him before giving up and passing him back to me.
"He looks just like you when you were born," Graham said to Joe.
"I'm going to take him downstairs to change him really quick," I said quietly as I carried Noah downstairs.
I changed Noah before joining them back upstairs and gently rocking Noah until he fell asleep and then I held him as I watched Joe edit his vlog.
