Chapter 6- Fixing the Future
04:25, 2 February 2025It had been a few weeks and ruling Asgard seemed easy. I'm kidding. Only because I am not going to be queen of Asgard. I'm only, like, 7% Asgardian. I may be worthy, but in my opinion, you don't have to have the throne if you're worthy. Its a choice.
Another reasoning for me not being queen of Asgard is that I want to get to know my father. I don't know how long it'll take for him to get used to the fact that he has a daughter. But then again, I'm not used to being a Stark.
It turns out that my phone came through with me. I don't know how, it wasn't on me. But, whatever, it did. And, it has all of the same articles. I even have their movies installed. But I guess since they changed the movies are inaccurate now. But they're still fun to watch. I even showed the rest of the Avengers how it would've went. It made them thank me even more.
Apparently, Cap can't lift the hammer because he knows that Bucky killed my grandparents. But, I say that is false. He can't lift the hammer now, and he doesn't even know Bucky exists. I guess I am able to lift it because some secrets need to stay secrets for a certain amount of time. And I do plan on revealing them soon enough. I just need to leave out specifics. Which is why I'm going to Tony right now.
I walk into his lab, I guess. If that's what it is. Its like a garage for his suits. But, whatever he wants to call it. I've been staying in the tower for the past few weeks getting to know Tony.
"Tony?" I call out for him.
"Yeah?" He rounds the corner.
"I have something I need to tell you." I say.
"Is it about the future? Because if so, its a no."
"Yes and no. I need you to come here real quick."
"What year does it happen?" He asks me, still deciding.
"1991 and 2016." I tell him.
I can see he remembers 1991, "So the past and the future. Fine. Only because it technically evens out."
"Not even close. But promise me you won't get pissed at this. Cap doesn't know yet. And keep it from Cap. It's for the best right now." I make him promise.
"I promise."
I show him the clip of them in the bunker thingy where the other Super soldiers were held, frozen. Where the guy shows Tony the recording of his parents being killed. And who did it. And then him and Cap fighting. I close the tab after its done, and look up at him.
"James Buchanan Barnes, otherwise known as the Winter Soldier. He was brainwashed by Hydra, then told to kill your parents. If you want to blame anyone, blame Hydra. And help me get Bucky back for Cap." I tell him.
He has tears in his eyes, "Why show this to me?"
"Because," I say, "You needed to know. Also, one more thing."
"What is it?" His voice cracks.
"No experimenting with Loki's Scepter. It just makes things worse. You created Ultron last time. And, well, he killed a ton of people. And that? It was on you." I sigh, "The more damage you do to the world, the closer we are to the Sokovia Accords. It ruined the Avengers."
"How?" He asks.
"You guys chose different sides." I say, "Cap became a war criminal, Rhodey got paralyzed, Clint got arrested, along with future Avengers. You know how bad that was for him? You have no idea."
"What do you mean?" He asks, again.
"It's classified. Which means, I got to go. Just, look for him, please." I then leave the room.
"Yes ma'am." He replies.
I walk out of the lab and make my way to Clint's room. I knock on the door. He opens it and lets me in.
He lets out a sigh, "What do you want?"
"What, were you busy? If so, I can leave."
"I wasn't. It's just, every time you come, you have bad news." He says.
"It's not about the future. Its about you." I say.
"What? Am I dying?" He asks, worried.
"No!" I let out a small laugh, "Its about something that only You, Natasha, and Fury know about. It isn't even on S.H.E.I.L.D.'s files."
His eyes light up when he figures it out, "My family?"
"Yeah. How are they?" I smile.
"Good. How are things with you and Stark?" He asks, his eyes show that he actually cares.
"Well," I laugh, "4 weeks ago, he was a fictional character to me. Now, he's real, and he's actually my father. It's a lot to take in. On both of our parts. How are you dealing with the fact that your life is a movie in other dimensions or earths?"
"Its," He smiles, "Crazy. So, does everyone on your planet know I have a family?"
I giggle, "Only the millions of people who watch the movies."
His eyes fill with confusion, "How did you guys find out?"
I sit up straight, "Tony messes up and creates an evil robot with Loki's scepter. Don't worry, I told him not to try it. I told him what happens. He has access to all of S.H.E.I.L.D.'s files. Since your home isn't on file, it's considered a safe house to the Avengers. So you take them there to figure everything out. Everyone was surprised."
He laughs, "I mean, do I look like I'd be single to you?"
I smile, "Yes. You seem as if you are only and agent of S.H.E.I.L.D. You seem as if you have no life."
He playfully hits me, "I do have a life, you just have to be good enough to participate in it."
I scoff, "I guess that's why I know about it."
He gets serious, "Promise me you'll keep it a secret."
"Of course, I promise." I get up and leave, satisfied with our conversation.
Once outside, I go to Cap's room and knock. Unlike Clint, he opens the door and just stands there.
"What?" He asks.
"You should go see her." I tell him.
"See who?"
"Peggy." I turn around and leave.
"She's alive?" I hear him call behind me.
I nod, "Now go find her. She isn't the same though."
I keep walking and decide that I need to figure out how to talk to Thor. Then it pops up in my head. I go to the roof of the tower.
I call out, "HEIMDALL, OPEN THE BIFROST!"
I wait a few seconds and shrug. At least I tried. But then I'm surrounded by light. And now I'm in Asgard. How cool is that?
"Thank you," I tell him and run all the way to the castle.
When I get there, the guards have no idea who I am. It may or may not be better that way. I'm going with not, because that means they won't let me in.
"I need to speak to Thor!" I tell them.
They still block the door.
"I'm Abigail Stark, if that's worth anything."
Just then, Thor comes up behind the guards, "Ah! Abigail, come in, come in. My father would like to meet you."
"That's not why I'm here." I tell him.
"Then why are you here?" He asks.
"We need to talk about the Tesseract."
He turns around, "Why?"
"Because," I ask him, "Have you ever heard of the Infinity Stones?"
"Yes," He answers, "They are an ancient legend."
"Well, legend or myth, whatever you want to call them, they're real. And someone's after them."
