Ch. 52 Meet the Parents

21:51, 6 September 2021

A/n: Hey, everybody! A lot of this book has been pretty dark, so here's a little bit of spice and a little bit of fluff :) Enjoy!

The door was barely even open before Bakugo reached for you, pulling you into his apartment and pressing you against his bare chest. You started to talk but he held you there, his arms around you tightly, smothering your face into him.

"Don't say anything," he said, his voice raspy from being asleep. "Just... let me hold you."

"I can't breathe," you mumbled after a few seconds.

Reluctantly he relaxed his arms but still didn't let you go.

"I woke you up, didn't I?"

"I don't care. I'll get you a key for next time."

Next time. You could feel your heart start to swell with those words.

"I want to tell you about the plan," you said. "I know Hawks said that he was going to use the drug and –"

"No."

"What?"

"No," Bakugo said, closing the door and immediately scooping you up, carrying you toward his room. "No plans, no discussions. Later."

"I can't stay long," you murmured, even as you relaxed in his arms. "I got out of work early and need to go home before Shoto gets suspicious. He's probably waiting up for me."

"Fuck him. Don't even say his name here."

That was an easy order to follow.

It felt nice to just be held, and you let yourself nuzzle against him as he made his way through the apartment in the dark. Together you crawled under his blankets, the bed still warm where he'd been sleeping.

The lights were off in his room and there was only the low hum of the fan cooling the air slightly.

You could get used to this.

"You're trouble, you know," he said, leaning down and kissing the space between your shoulder and neck, working his way up your neck until he found your lips, each touch sending a tingle up your spine. "Big trouble. Nothing but trouble."

You hardly heard him over the beating of your heart. Your hands found his and interlocked your fingers together as he kept kissing you.

"Good trouble?" you asked between kisses.

"The best."

"You're trouble, too," you whispered.

"Hm?"

"I was done with heroes. I thought they were all egotistical –"

"I am," he interrupted.

"arrogant –"

"I am."

" - self-centered brats."

"I'm not that."

"No, you're not," you agreed. "Maybe a little bratty though. I mean, you didn't even ask if you could kiss me just now."

"Oh? Is that what you want? Because if you think I'm always going to ask for your permission, then you're –"

Before he even finished the sentence, your lips were against his, hard, your hands tangled in his hair.

That was all the permission he needed.

He let go of your hand and it went around you, slipping under your waistband, grabbing your ass and pulling you closer to him. You shimmied out of your pants and let your body grind on him just a little, feeling his erection against you.

"You're so hard, and I've hardly touched you yet."

"What do you expect when I have your sexy body up against me?"

"I expect you to behave nicely for me, especially if you're wanting something in return." You let your hand snake down between his legs, gripping him and tugging gently over his pants. "Is there something you want?"

"You don't have to read my mind to know what I want."

You rolled over on top of him and took his hands again, but this time you brought them both up over his head and pinned them there.

"Keep your hands there," you instructed as you let go. You weren't sure if he was going to do it or not, but he did, at least until your shirt was off and then his hands zoomed onto your breasts like magnets until you swatted them away.

"That's not following orders," you said, again putting his hands up over his head. "I told you to keep them there."

"Ugh," he groaned. "Why is you telling me what to do so fucking hot?"

"Because you're used to telling everyone else what to do. But here, in this bedroom, that's not going to be the case. Are you okay with that?"

"It's... different. But yes," he nodded eagerly. "Hell yes."

"Great," you smiled and brought one of his hands to your mouth, slipping his fingers inside and beginning to suck on them. The more you rolled his fingers around with your tongue, the more you could feel him throb against you, his hips rising to buck against yours, but you scooted just far enough away.

"You're just not going to let me get off, is that it?" he growled.

You immediately took his fingers from your mouth and gave him a confused look. "No. Not at all, unless that's what you want."

"No. No, obviously not."

"Then good. Personally I'd rather you be a sobbing mess from coming so many times. But whether or not that happens is up to you. Now are you ready to listen and behave?"

He took his hand from yours and slid it down your chest, stopping for just a second to tweak one of your nipples, earning a playful smack from you.

He smirked, and even in the darkness you could see a glimmer in his red eyes. "Yes, ma'am."

--------------

Yawning and stretching, your hand hit the bed but not the body of the man you thought was asleep next to you. He was gone? You could tell it was morning by the light streaming through his curtains, but Bakugo wasn't in the bed next to you, his pillow cold.

How late had you slept? You checked your phone and saw the predictable texts from Shoto that you'd known would be there since you hadn't gone home.

Whatever. He could stay mad.

If everything went according to plan, you wouldn't be living with him much longer anyway.

Smelling coffee and hearing sounds coming from the kitchen, you decided to take a quick shower to wash away the grease and yuck of the bar from last night. After your shower you wrapped just a towel around your body, and with a mischievous grin you padded down the hall toward the noise that you hoped was him making breakfast.

But when you rounded the corner...

"Well, hello."

"Oh fuck!" You practically jumped back in surprise, and you had to scramble to keep the towel around you. "Oh fuck, I said that out loud. I am so sorry."

A beautiful older woman was setting Bakugo's table, and she smiled when she saw you. "Sorry to scare you. Katsuki should be back any minute now. I'm his mother."

It was all you could do to stand there, clutching your towel, frozen in place.

"I'm naked. No! I'm y/n. I'm... going to.... go...." Immediately you turned on your heels and booked it back to his bedroom, your heart racing from embarrassment.

Where the fuck was Bakugo and why was his mother setting the dining room table?

You took a few deep breaths to calm your nerves. Okay, it could be worse. You could have been completely naked. If you hadn't grabbed your towel just then, you would have been. At most she saw just your boobs. She saw your boobs? Oh god, you groaned internally.

No matter how much you tried to rationalize it, your first time meeting his mother you'd been almost naked and you'd cussed in front of her. What kind of first impression was that?

But look, you told yourself, you were a grown ass woman, just like her, and there was no reason why you needed to be hiding in Bakugo's room like a scared little girl. Trying to hold your head high to maintain some level of dignity, you came back out, fully dressed this time, just as Bakugo was coming through the front door, his arms heavy with grocery bags.

"You weren't supposed to wake her up!" he was already shouting as soon as he saw you.

"I wouldn't have if you hadn't taken so long!" his mother shouted right back.

"You could have just brought the ingredients with you so I wouldn't have had to go to the store!"

"You're the one who asked me to come make this for her!" his mother countered.

"Um, sorry to interrupt," you tried to say, not even sure if they heard you, "but....?"

"Y/n. This is my mom. Ignore everything she says."

"So... we met," you said. "Hi. I'm so sorry about earlier... this is... awkward. But it's great to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, too. I've heard a lot about you." Then she quickly turned her attention to her son. "You didn't even bother to tell her that I was coming over, did you, Katsuki? What the hell? Why wouldn't you say something so she doesn't wake up wondering why a stranger is in your apartment?"

"I didn't want to wake her up! That's your fault for being too noisy!"

"Actually," you butted in, "it's kind of your fault that your mom's first impression of me was me almost naked."

"I like her," his mother said, nodding her head in approval.

Bakugo stopped everything he was doing to stare at you. "Why were you naked?"

"I wasn't naked, I had just taken a shower and thought.... " you glanced over at his mother, who, unlike you, didn't seem the least embarrassed by this conversation. "Because I just was."

"She was trying to be cute and sexy for you, you idiot. Damn, Katsuki, I swear you finally get a girlfriend and forget how to act."

"Oh," he said. You were pretty sure you saw a hint of pink on his cheeks. "We're not... we haven't..."

"Are you about to say that she's not your girlfriend? Then what are your intentions here?"

"What the hell does that mean?"

"Is she just a hook up?"

"You did not just say that," he groaned as you tried to stifle a laugh.

"Are you in a relationship then?"

"Uh," he sort of stuttered. "We haven't really..."

"Yes," you interrupted. "Yes. We are."

"We are?" he looked at you stunned.

"Yes. Unless you don't want to be?"

"No. No! I didn't say that."

"Then yes. He's my boyfriend."

His mother smiled at you both. "Then go," she told her son. "Go spend time with your girlfriend. You called me over here to make my specialty for her, so that's what I'm going to do. Go, out of the kitchen," she said, shuffling you both out of the room, "now. I'll call you back when it's ready."

After breakfast, while Bakugo cleaned up the kitchen, you had a chance to sit down with his mom one on one. You stirred your coffee awkwardly, not sure what to say. Thankfully, she broke the ice before you had to.

"So you used to work for him?" she asked.

"Yes, but he fired me."

You heard Bakugo huff as he started doing dishes, noticeably slamming them around a little bit louder.

"That's when I first heard about you, actually," she said. "My son really likes you. He's an annoying hot-head, but he has a good heart."

"I know. I really like him, too. He's been very kind to me."

Bakugo glanced back at you, for just a second, and you smiled back.

"That doesn't sound like him."

"Shut up!" he yelled over his shoulder at his mom.

"Don't talk to your mom like that!" you yelled.

"Damn, it's like there's two of you now," he muttered.

His mother looked at you with an expression that told you she was maybe... impressed?

"Y/n, I'm going to be very honest with you," she said. "I know my son doesn't keep up with hero news, but I do. I keep every magazine and news article about him. That also means that I keep up with some of his classmates from UA, and... well, I've seen you in the news, too."

"You have?" you squeaked, your heart sinking.

"Yes."

"Please don't believe anything you've read."

"Trust me, I know a lot of it is trash, which is why I'm bringing it up. Everything in the news says that you are engaged to Shoto Todoroki, yet here you are with my son. I have to ask... " she let the question trail off, but you knew what she was asking.

"It's a really long story," you tried to explain. "But it's all fake. The relationship with Shoto, the engagement, none of that is real. Shoto wishes it were real, but it's not. I do live with him, which I know is weird," you added when you saw her wrinkle her face, "but that's only because my apartment burned down. We have separate rooms. It's temporary. Extremely temporary."

"That's good to hear. My concern is that I don't want Katsuki involved in that kind of gossip. These past couple months have been difficult. There have been rumors circulating...The last thing he needs is a scandal. Just to double check then, you are not engaged to someone else?"

"The world seems to think I am, but no, I'm not marrying Shoto."

She nodded, seeming to accept that answer.

"Now that that's out of the way, are you two being safe?"

You almost spit out your coffee. "I'm sorry... what?"

"Oh my god," you heard Bakugo say.

"Are you two using protection? Because you shouldn't. I want grandbabies eventually, Katsuki, and I like her."

"It's time for you to go," he said, forcefully pulling back his mom's chair. "Now."

"All right, all right," she said, standing up to go. "I'll leave you two alone so you can get to work on that. It was a pleasure spending the morning with you, y/n. I'm sorry that I surprised you earlier."

"Don't worry about it!" She was so easy to talk to, even when it was awkward, and you felt a pang in your heart that your own parents weren't in your life anymore.

"And Katsuki," she said to him, her voice stern as she headed for the door.

"Yeah, what?"

"Don't fuck this up."
