Chapter 3. Aquaintanceship

17:26, 28 June 2022

"Wait. Are you serious?"

Mk sits up slightly. "You, the evil Red son, want to have a conversation with me?" Mk couldn't hide his excitement. Trucing with him meant 1 less enemy and perhaps 1 more friend.

"Ugh. Yes. Is it THAT hard to believe?" Red son rolls his eyes. "UH, YEAH? You're a villain! Wanting to have a normal conversation with the hero is kinda a big deal!" Mk says with his arms in the table sitting up. Red continues to sit embarrassed. "Why, though. Are you trying to make a truce or something?" Mk sits back down to sip his tea.

Red thought hard about how to approach the situation. How could he trick Mk? Many thoughts kept playing in his mind. Mk was stupid enough to fall for something simple. "I've just.." he stuttered. He looked back up at Mk who listened patiently. Once again, Red was surprised about how he didn't try to rush him. He wasn't forcing him to speak but simply patiently waiting for a response without a single complaint. "I just wanted to give...acquaintanceship a try..." he scratches the back of his neck through the hood. "Acquaintances? Like friends?" Mk tilts his head. Red son couldn't handle his embarrassment and was happy about the hood covering his face.

"I-I guess...?"

Mk smiled brightly. "You better not be lying!" Even though he hid it, Mk's mind was going crazy. How could Red sons cold yet burning heart change so drastically? He tried not to think about it and enjoy this sudden change. "Well then, friend, let's do friend things!" Mk exclaimed. "About that.. I've never actually had a friend before...how do I do "friend things"?" Red mumbled in embarrassment.

Mk gasped. "You've never had a friend before?! Well it isn't that hard. First, you just have to hang out with each other and get to know each other!" Mk paused for a moment to think. "What's your favorite food?" He looked back up at him. "Umm..why..? Are you trying to find secret information about me? Are you trying to STALK me?" Red son panicked. "No, no," Mk laughs. "I'm just starting conversation and getting to know you!" Red son sighed in relief. "Err...I'm not sure?" Red answered

"What? You don't have a favorite food either? Man, you're difficult. Well my favorite food is easily Pigsy's famous noodles. Mostly because it's all I eat but still. He's like an artist in the kitchen!"

Suddenly, Mk had an idea. He grabbed Red son's arm as he stared confused. They ran to the closed noodle shop and Mk used his key to unlock it. They enter as he locks it behind him. "It's closed today but I thought I should make you some!" Red son falls to the ground panting. "How can you run that fast for that long?" He pants between each word. "When you're trained every day by a Monkie king, you get pretty good at running." He laughs. Red son took note. Sun Wukong trained him everyday?

Mk stumbled into the kitchen and the sound of falling pots and pans followed. Red sat on a stool, confused. Mk hummed loudly amidst the loud clanking and crashing. In a few minutes, the noodles were made. "I could never make them as good as Pigsy himself, but this try seems promising!" He says as he pushes the bowl toward him. He stared down at the bowl. It looked unappetizing. The meat was burnt, the noodles were burnt and somehow, even the broth was burnt.

He gulped and took a sip to be polite. The second it hit his mouth, he spat it back out everywhere. The flavors were all wrong, the burntness was awful and everything seemed uneven. "Hand me that recipe." Red son demands. Mk slides it over in confusion. He looks the paper up and down. "You did everything wrong! The measurements are all wrong!" Red yelled.

"Wait.. the numbers on the side of each ingredient were measurements? I thought they were there for fun." Mk says confused.

"NO, YOU IMBECILE." Red son glared. Mk truly was the most dumb person he had ever met. How was he capable of having so much power?

"Wow, Red. You sound like Pigsy." Red son ignored him and went to the kitchen to prepare another batch. Mk watched as he carefully added the perfect amount of ingredients into the broth and cooked the noodles thoroughly. It was like watching a professional artist paint a picture and watching it slowly turn from an empty canvas into a masterpiece.

Mk stared in awe as the bowl was delivered to him. He slowly took a bite and it was like a flavor explosion in his mouth like tasting the definition of heaven. "H-how..?" Mk stared admiring his work. "W-well I always have to cook for my parents when they're busy so..." Red son sighs. Mk runs up to him. "THANK YOU FOR THIS MASTERPIECE. MY NEW FAVOURITE FOOD IS "RED SON'S NOODLES"."

Mk continued to blab about how his noodles were a masterpiece ext. but Red son couldn't help but feel flustered by such a compliment. Suddenly, Red son did something he hadn't done for a while. He slightly smiled. Mk noticed immediately and stared. As Red noticed, he got confused. "What? Is there something wrong with my face?" His smile fades.

"You smiled!"  Mk yelled and pointed. "Wh- NO?" Red yelled back. "Since when do you smile?!" Red blushed in embarrassment. "N-noodle boy-!" He gripped his fist. Suddenly, Mk's face turns red and he screams from spice. Red son loaded the noodles with spicy peppers and Mk didn't even notice. He was screaming and running around. Red son ate his noodles as if there was no spice added at all.

"HOW COULD YOU MAKE THEM SO SPICY!!!" Mk continues to yell.  Red son checks the times and stands. "Oh. You gotta go?" Mk calms down. Red nods and stands in the doorway before Mk calls to him. "Hey Red. This was fun. Thanks." Red stared at him before leaving. What. Just. Happened?
