Trouble in the Chunin Exams

The chunin exams were drawing near. Squad 7 was on some kind of mission to capture a red panda bear on the loose. Also, to gather some data for the scientific ninja tool that had a whole bunch of jutsu sealed in tiny scrolls.

Succeeding in capturing the red panda bear, Konohamaru was going to demonstrate how the ninja tool works, much to his students' curiosity.

Konohamaru powered his own rasengan from the tiny scroll, making it fly in the air. Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki's expressions were in awe.

Smiling proudly that he got to show off, his smile soon disappeared as he heard a huge explosion from behind him. The cause was his rasengan from the tiny scroll which lost control. In result, it destroyed someone's house.

"I'm filing a complaint to the Konoha police!"

Konohamaru looked scared out of his mind. "My wife's going to kill me..."

"Mother?" Mitsuki asked.

"Auntie?" Boruto asked.

Sarada shook her head, sighing in annoyance. "Yes, it's auntie. You didn't need to add yourself in, Boruto."

Boruto looked irritated. "Why are you only scolding me?!"

"Because you didn't need to give your two cents when it wasn't necessary."

Soon after, Kotomi arrived at the scene, apologizing to the people whose house was destroyed. She would have someone repair it right away after she completed the paperwork for it.

Seeing Kotomi walking towards him with a smiling glare, it sent a shiver down Konohamaru's spine. "Hi honey..!"

Knowing he says that when he knows he's in trouble, Kotomi crossed her arms. "Don't you hi honey me, mister."

Konohamaru swallowed. "You're not angry, are you..?"

"Now why would I be angry?" Though it was written all over her face that she was fuming inside.

Knowing that his wife was about to kill him on the spot, Konohamaru bowed his head apologetically. "I'm so sorry for my carelessness!"

Kotomi grabbed his scarf, pulling his face closer to hers. Her eyes were visibly angry. "You damn right better be sorry! Because of what you did, I have to write a long report about this mess, and get it approved by Naruto! And he has a lot of paperwork as it is!"

Boruto had his hands behind his head like he didn't care. "That's what he gets."

Kotomi glared at Boruto. "You wanna run that by me again, little boy?"

Seeing that she wasn't in the best of moods, Boruto straighten up. "No, m'am!"

Kotomi turned back to Konohamaru. "And as for you! Don't you do anything reckless like that again! Do you hear me?!"

Konohamaru nodded vigorously. "Y-Yes!"

Staring at his face up close made Kotomi start to blush. She released his scarf, looking away. "It's a good thing you're cute or else I would've knock your ass to the ground."

Sarada looked somewhat nervous. "Auntie... Please go easy on him. He didn't do it on purpose."

Kotomi let out a sigh. "I know it was an accident, but that still defeats the fact that I have to deal with it once I get back to my office since a certain somebody destroyed someone's house."

Konohamaru had dark swirls surrounding him. "I said I was sorry..."

"This time, I was just messing with you to get back at you." Kotomi slyly smiled. "Anyway, I have to get back to my workplace to fill out a bunch of paperwork now."

"Mother." Mitsuki spoke up. "I'm going to be training so I'll be home late again."

"That's fine, just be home at a reasonable time."

"Understood."

Kotomi turned to Boruto. "Don't act up." Boruto didn't say anything as he was too scared to talk back at the moment. Kotomi turned to her niece with a smile. "See you later, Sarada."

Sarada smiled back. "Same to you, auntie."

Kotomi had went back to her workplace to get started on the paperwork. Konohamaru still looked somewhat depressed. "What can I do to make this up to her..?"

Sarada felt bad seeing her sensei/uncle down in the dumps. "Maybe you should get her some kind of gift after she gets off from work."

Mitsuki nodded. "Get something you think mother would like."

"This will sound cheesy, but flowers might help make it up to her." Boruto suggested.

Konohamaru let out a sigh. "Thanks guys..."

Later that day, Kotomi picked up Kojiro from daycare. He was one of the last kids to get picked up since she had to stay a little later than she had to.

"Mommy, I'm thirsty." Kojiro said while walking by her side and holding her hand.

"Alright, you'll get a cup of your favorite juice when we get home."

Kojiro cheered in response. His attention went to somewhere else, his eyes sparkling. "Look! It's daddy!"

Kotomi looked up, seeing Konohamaru walking up to her with a bouquet of flowers. She knew that he wanted to make it up to her after what he did today.

Konohamaru rubbed the back of his head. "These are for you, Kotomi."

Receiving the bouquet of flowers, Kotomi couldn't help but smile. "I can't stay mad at you."

Konohamaru let out a relieved sigh. "Thank goodness..."

"Daddy!" Kojiro released Kotomi's hand, rushing towards Konohomaru.

He picked up his two year old son. "How was daycare today, Kojiro?"

"It was fun! I got to help serve snacks today!"

"Oh really? Sounds like you were a huge help today, kore!"

"I like helping!"

Kotomi smiled at the sight. "I was going to make katsudon tonight. Does that sound good?

Both Konohamaru and Kojiro's eyes sparkled, saying this in unison. "It sounds delicious!"

Kotomi giggled. "Then let's start heading home."

"Nii-san! Nee-san!" They heard a familiar voice calling out to them. They saw a girl with short black hair and reddish eyes.

Konohamaru gave the girl a smile. "Mirai. Are you heading home?"

Mirai, Konohamaru's cousin nodded. "Yeah. I just got off duty. Mother's waiting for me."

"Auntie Mirai!"

Mirai gave her nephew a smile. "Kojiro! You've gotten so big the last time I saw you!"

Kojiro smiled brightly. "I grow every day!"

"Is that right?" She turned to Kotomi, noticing a bouquet in her hands. "Those are really pretty flowers. What did Konohamaru do this time?"

"Where do I even start?" Kotomi laughed. "He made my work pile up today, because he destroyed someone's house. So that person filed a complaint, and I had to do a bunch of paperwork, and send it all to Naruto for his approval. I feel bad for Naruto since it was a lot, and his office is already filled with piles of paper already."

"Tell me about it!" Mirai sweatdropped. She patted Konohamaru on the back. "I advise you to not make Nee-san's work pile up again. Next time, I'll help back her up."

Konohamaru lowered his head. "You don't have to gang up on me, kore..." Both Kotomi and Mirai started laughing. Kojiro was the only one confused, not knowing what they were talking about.

Before the chunin exams, Boruto had asked Konohamaru to teach him the rasengan. That jutsu was about to be passed down to the next generation.

Boruto was trying his best to pop the water balloon with his chakra, but it just wasn't working. Getting frustrated, he ended up throwing the water balloon towards the ground, water splattered below him. "Damn it! How am I supposed to break this balloon with just my chakra?!"

"The rasengan isn't something that you can achieve overnight! It takes years to master, kore!"

"That's just dumb!" Boruto and Konohamaru got into each other's faces, sparks in between them. Boruto clicked his tongue. "Whatever! It's boring! I want to have at least a little fun in this training!" He was making a familiar hand sign. "Sexy jutsu!"

Konohamaru rolled his eyes with a smirk. "Please. I've been doing that jutsu for years, so it's not going to work on me-" He spoke too soon.

Boruto had transformed into Kotomi in a bikini. "Konohamaru-kun~!"

Konohamaru started to have a nosebleed, covering it with his hand. "That's just cheating!"

Boruto transformed back into himself, holding his gut while laughing. "That's the only sexy jutsu that will work on you, big bro!"

"I told you to stop calling me that! I'm your sensei!"

In Kotomi's office, she felt a disturbance in the force. She stopped writing a report, looking lost in thought. "Why do I feel the urge to kick Boruto's ass..?"

The chunin exams finally arrived. Kotomi had Kojiro sitting on her lap while sitting next to Sakura. She turned around, seeing her husband watching in the upper level along with the other senseis.

Meeting his eyes, Kotomi gave him a wave, he waved back in response. "Mommy! It's going to be Sarada's turn!" Kojiro's comment made her turn towards the arena where she will be watching her niece fight next.

Sarada ended up winning the match, both Sakura and Kotomi cheered loudly. "Alright!" Sarada smiled awkwardly, hearing both her mother and aunt.

One of the next matches was going to have Mitsuki fighting. Kotomi started cheering loudly for her foster son. "You can do it!"

It seemed like her words got across as Mitsuki was giving it his all. During his fight, Kotomi noticed a strange aura coming out of him. "What is that..?"

Sakura turned to her with a confused expression. "What's wrong?"

Kotomi shook her head. "It's nothing."

It was down to the finals. It was Boruto vs Shikadai. It seemed like Boruto was about to lose, but he had a trick literally up his sleeve, making him win the match.

Naruto made his way down there, revealing that Boruto has been cheating the entire time. He had a scientific ninja tool attached to his arm.

All of a sudden, the ground started shaking. The platform that provided shade for the arena seats started crumbling down. Looking around, Kotomi couldn't see Kojiro anywhere. She felt like her heart stopped for a moment.

Finally spotting him, Kotomi saw that a piece of heavy debris was about to fall on him. Appearing before him, Kotomi rescued her son from being crushed.

Letting out a sigh of relief, Kotomi was upset the next minute. "Kojiro! Don't go off on your own like that!"

Kojiro had tears running down his face. "I was so scared... What's happening..?"

Kotomi scooped Kojiro in her arms. "I don't know, but we have to get out of here!"

As Kotomi was running towards the exit, she heard Kojiro start screaming. "Nee-chan!"

Stopping where she stood, Kotomi turned around, seeing Sasuke protect his daughter from the fallen debris. Letting out a sigh of relief, Kotomi smiled at her son. "She's ok."

"Mother!" Mitsuki called out. Kotomi saw a huge debris about to fall on her and Kojiro. Mitsuki came on time, destroying it into tiny little pieces with his snake hands. "Are you alright?"

Kotomi nodded. "Yes. Thank you for saving us." She saw that there was a child with him, smiling at the sight. "You continue keeping the children safe. I'm going to go to a safe place with Kojiro."

Mitsuki nodded. "Understood. Please be careful."

"I will. You too." With that, Kotomi started running while holding Kojiro close to her.

Making it out safely, Kotomi was still running just in case something in the area would come crashing down. Hearing someone appear next to her, she saw it was her husband. "Konohamaru!"

"I'm glad that you two are alright! I was worried if you got hurt."

"We didn't get hurt. But what's happening? Why did the arena suddenly start breaking down?"

"A couple of people from the Otsutsuki clan is here."

Kotomi grunted, remembering that name from back then. "The Otsutsuki clan?!"

"I know, I thought there weren't any members left either. Those guys are strong that they even knocked Naruto out of the arena with one hit."

Kotomi swallowed, hoping and praying that somehow, someone would defeat the enemy. She would help and fight, but her priority was to protect her son.

***

During all this chaos, Boruto, Sasuke, Naruto, and the five kages had went into a black warp hole to defeat the enemy.

Sakura and Sarada were waiting anxiously along with Hinata and her young daughter, Himawari. Shikamaru was there as well, looking anxious as well.

Kotomi, Konohamaru, Mitsuki, and Kojiro were all there waiting as well, hoping to see that everyone would return safely.

It was a long wait, but soon enough, everyone saw Boruto, Sasuke, Naruto, and the five kages return safely.

Sakura and Sarada ran towards Sasuke while hugging him, same with Hinata and Himawari hugging Naruto and Boruto.

Relief appeared on Kotomi's face. She looked over towards Konohamaru who also looked relieved. He was holding their son who had a big smile on his face, waving his hands in the air.

Looking over towards Mitsuki, Kotomi could tell that he was relieved to see that his dear friend, Boruto was safe and sound. Now turning towards Boruto, Kotomi had hoped that he had learned something from all of this.

A/N: If I think about it, it isn't a good idea to bring little kids to the chunin exams. Something always has to happen, like damn can't we just have one smooth exam without interruption??? I tried to find the squad photo, and this is what all I could find.
