Chapter 28

04:10, 22 March 2019

Husband and Wife

A few years flew by just like that. The village was at peace after the war. Sometime after the war, Kotomi regained her ninja status, and soon after became a jonin. She even raised a lot of funds for Konoha's second restoration by going around all the lands, performing songs and raps with her teacher, Killer Bee.

Everyone in the village and people from other villages as well were preparing for a very special occasion.

"Is it on now?" Kotomi appeared on a screen, assuming that she was being recorded.

"It's on. You can start talking now." Konohamaru said behind the camera.

Kotomi smiled, clearing her throat. "Hey Naruto and Hinata. First off, congratulations on your wedding. I'm super happy for you two. Hinata, I knew you could do it. I and everyone else was aware that you've had feelings for Naruto for a very long time now. And Naruto, it's about damn time that you recognized her feelings. You kept the poor girl waiting long enough. I hope after you're married for quite some time that you'll give me a nephew or niece. Both would be nice. To wrap this up, I wish you two all the happiness in the world!" She gave a piece sign towards the end.

Konohamaru turned off the camera. "You did great. It will make them smile."

Kotomi giggled. "Thank you!" She dreamily sighed, looking like she was thinking about something. "It would be nice to get married someday."

Konohamaru started blushing to the point that he looked like a red hot chili pepper. "But we only just recently started dating..!"

Kotomi started laughing at the sight of Konohamaru looking so flustered. "I know, I know! But it doesn't mean that I can't dream!" He slumped his shoulders, unable to calm his blushing.

During the wedding for Naruto and Hinata, Hinata threw the bouquet of flowers in the air.

Many of the women were trying to catch it, but it directly landed in Kotomi's arms. Kotomi blinked down at the bouquet, a slight blush appeared on her face.

Smiling brightly, she turned to Konohamaru who was blushing like crazy. That earned many teasing stares since they were the youngest couple there.

Kotomi held the bouquet proudly, feeling like someday her own wedding would come. She had hoped that her brother would make it during that time since he's been gone from the village for a long time due to a secret mission.

Feeling happy, feeling like things were finally falling into place, eventually, Kotomi's wedding day will come years later.

The day of Kotomi's wedding finally arrived. It was about a little over five years after Naruto and Hinata's wedding. At this point, her older friends including her brother already have kids.

She never felt more happier to become an aunt, and started visualizing the time when she will become a mother herself.

Kotomi shook her head vigorously, thinking that it was too soon for that, her wedding hasn't even started yet.

Staring at the mirror, Kotomi was wearing a white uchikake that went all the way down to her feet. Her hair was done up in a braid bun, a white blossom pin was tucked away in the bun. She was wearing makeup that enhanced her beauty. Eyeliner that highlighted her eye shape, and rose colored lipstick that complemented her dress. She truly looked like a bride.

Kotomi sighed to herself, wondering if the guest she wanted to be here the most was going to show up. She remembered sending him an invitation with his hawk. Though he comes by every now and then to spend time with his family, especially his toddler daughter.

Hearing a knock on the door, Kotomi turned around. "Come in." The door opened, her eyes widen the next second. "Speak of the devil..."

It was her older brother, Sasuke. He closed the door behind him, grunting at the sight of his sister dressed as a bride. "Imoto..."

Kotomi smiled endearingly, feeling a little shy. "Do I look pretty, Onii-san?"

Feeling stunned seeing his little sister looking so womanly, Sasuke had his words stuck in his throat. He looked like he was holding back his true emotions. "You look... Beautiful."

Kotomi giggled. "You don't need to feel shy about complimenting your little sister, Onii-san! Geez!"

"Sorry. I'm not really good at this kind of thing."

"I'm well aware of that." Looking like she was thinking about something, Kotomi lowered her eyes. "Hey... Do you think father and Nii-san would be emotional if they saw me in this? I know mother would be bawling her eyes out, and take a lot of pictures."

Hearing sadness in her voice, Sasuke walked over to her, placing his hand on her shoulder. "They would be proud of the woman you have become. Just like me."

Kotomi started to get teary eyed. Trying to pull herself together, she nodded in agreement. "I believe that too." She embraced her brother tightly. "Thank you for making it on such a special day. It means the world to me."

Sasuke softly smiled, hugging Kotomi back. "I wouldn't miss it for anything. I'm happy that I get to walk you down the aisle."

Kotomi started to feel emotional. She had asked him in the invitation if he could do the honor of walking her down the aisle. "You have no idea how happy I am right now..."

Sasuke laughed through his nose. He met her eyes once more, giving her a tap on the forehead. Just like their older brother used to do. "Let's get going. Your groom is waiting."

Feeling the lingering touch on her forehead, Kotomi couldn't help the tears from falling. It felt like her parents and eldest brother were here in spirit. Wiping her tears away carefully, not wanting to smudge her makeup, Kotomi nodded. "Right." Linking her arm with her brother's, the two siblings exited the room.

Kotomi was walking down the aisle with Sasuke, walking up to her soon to be husband. Her face lighted up, seeing the man that she will spend the rest of life with.

Waiting at the alter was none other than Konohamaru Saratobi, wearing a hakama. A soft blush appeared on his face, seeing Kotomi looking so beautiful in white. The Uchiha siblings stopped in front of him.

Feeling like the words were stuck in his throat, Sasuke managed to get them out. "Take good care of my sister."

Konohamaru smiled. "I promise I will." He took Kotomi by the hand, the two were now standing at the alter.

Sasuke stood there for a bit, processing his thoughts. Silently turning around, it looked like he was going to his seat next to Sakura, but passed it.

Sakura turned around while her toddler daughter was sitting on her lap. "Sasuke-kun! Your seat's over here!" He went out the room, making her arch an eyebrow. "Why did he..?"

Hearing someone cry right next to her, Sakura saw Kakashi teary eyed. "Kotomi is all grown up..." Realizing that Sasuke stepped outside so he wouldn't cry in front of people, she started giggling to herself.

Kotomi smiled to herself, seeing her brother step out to have a moment. She knew he would be back. Turning over to Konohamaru, they were about to start their wedding vows. Kotomi Uchiha was about to become Kotomi Saratobi.

After the ceremony, it was the wedding reception where they cut the cake and give a speech. Everyone was enjoying themselves while eating the food that was provided.

The bride and groom were sitting at a table in front of the room. Konohamaru stood up, tapping the wine glass to gather everyone's attention. "I would like to say a few things about my wife, kore."

Kotomi looked at Konohamaru dreamily, her heart felt like it was flying.

Konohamaru smiled brightly, looking towards Kotomi. "Kotomi. I still clearly remember the day I fell in love with you. It was back at the academy. When we sparred that time and you defeated me, I saw your hand reaching out to me. I didn't see you as an opponent that beaten me. More like, uh..." He scratched his face shyly. "An angel."

Kotomi started to feel shy. "Konohamaru..." She could not make the blush on her face go away.

He laughed at the sight. "During the times in the academy and as a genin, we were always around each other. We were always there for each other when things got tough. When something tragic happened with either one of us, we were always there for each other. We became closer as genin, and the more I spent time with you, the more I realized that you were truly the one for me."

Kotomi placed her hand over her heart, looking touched. She was trying not to cry, knowing how sensitive she can be with emotional moments like these. "You're so sweet."

"Would you like to make a speech?"

Kotomi nodded, standing up from her seat. She looked Konohamaru in the eye. "Konohamaru. The first time I had met you in the academy, my first thought was that you were just too much trouble."

Konohamaru looked defeated, dark swirls surrounding him. "You really thought of me like that..?"

Kotomi started laughing. "You were a young, wild boy who caused nothing but trouble. Don't pretend you never caused a ruckus."

He looked depressed even more. "Why are you saying these things now..?"

"I'm getting to the point of that." Kotomi let out a happy sigh. "During the tough times we were both going through as kids, we were always there to lift each other up. At first, we did that as friends. But as time went by, I started to slowly realize that I felt something for you. I started to see you as someone really special in my life. The more I got to know you, the more I started to..." She started to get shy trying to say the next word. "Love you..."

At another table, Sasuke got up from his seat, looking like he was trying to exit the room again. Sakura stopped him, grabbing onto his arm. Naruto, who was sitting at a table next to him snickered at the sight.

Konohamaru's eyes started to waver. "Kotomi..." He smiled brightly, hugging her tightly. "I love you so much!"

Kotomi started laughing, hugging him back. "I love you so much too!" It was a sweet moment that their friends got to witness.

Kotomi and Konohamaru were now in the middle of the room, slow dancing to a love song. Staring into each other's eyes, they felt like the luckiest people on earth. The bride and groom expressed their love for each other on their most memorable night. Sharing a kiss.

***

It was getting late, but the reception was still ongoing. The women mainly went home since they had to tend to their kids. The men were there drinking alcohol, but not as much alcohol that Kotomi consumed.

Kotomi's face was entirely flushed. For some reason, she had a microphone in her hand. Swaying side to side, she started busting a rap.

It's my wedding day, yo, where else would I be? My last name went from Uchiha to Saratobi,   My teacher is the one and only Killer Bee, Because of him, I learned how to rap and use my voice to sing,   He taught me to sword fight to preserve a precious memory, His rapping's on point, it's hard to miss, He's one of the only rappers Eminem was afraid to diss!

Killer Bee was dancing along to her rap. "Sing it, Kotomi! You learned from the best from me! The one and only Killer Bee! Yeah!"

Konohamaru was staring in a dumbfounded way, not knowing what to do at the moment. "My wife is pretty drunk..."

Sasuke walked over to him, stopping right next to him. "Make sure to check on her in the morning. We don't want her getting sick."

"Right."

Sasuke let out a sigh. "I'll help you get her home."

Konohamaru waved his hands vigorously. "It's ok! I can handle it! You should get home to your wife and daughter soon!"

Seeing that his sister was in good hands, Sasuke nodded once. "Very well. But tell me if you need any help with her."

Konohamaru smiled brightly. "Thank you, Nii-san!"

It felt a bit strange hearing someone call him big brother besides Kotomi. She was married now, so... A small smile appeared on Sasuke's face before he vanished.

Konohamaru went over to Kotomi, who stumbled on him. He caught her in his arms, seeming like she had passed out. "Geez... Here I thought you would never do this in your life." He smiled at her, gently carrying her princess style. "Let's go home."

A/N: They got married! Sasuke was trying all hard to act tough, but we know that he was crying when he left the room. I wanted this chapter to be emotional and silly at the same time. Kotomi was really drunk, I apologize for the bad rhyming again. I tried! This time, I want to do a Konohamaru appreciation picture since I realized that I didn't post any pictures of him in the previous chapters.
