Chapter 34 - You All Deserve It
22:54, 3 December 2025The door to the girls' side of the dorms finally burst open, and out spilled Mina, Uraraka, Jiro, Hagakure, Yaoyorozu, and Tsu—laughing, chatting, energized in the way that only a group of post-training teenage girls could be. Mina practically skipped into the common room, her pink curls bouncing, while Uraraka waved both hands excitedly when she spotted everyone.
"There you are, Yuuki!" Mina beamed as she rushed over. "We were wondering if you came out early!"
Yuuki smiled shyly as the girls gathered around her, each offering their own cheerful relief that she was doing better. The boys shifted to make room as the common room grew louder and happier with all of them together.
Kirishima laughed and scooted over. "Now the party can start!"
"Party?" Kaminari perked up. "Bro, we don't have one of those—"
Before he could finish, the front door slid open.
Two adults stepped inside.
All Might—skinny form but still radiating warmth—and Aizawa, looking desperately like he wanted to go back to bed, stood side by side.
The room fell instantly silent.
All Might lifted a finger dramatically. "I AM... here! With wonderful news, young ones!"
Aizawa sighed deeply. "Can you just tell them? Please?"
All Might coughed politely, straightening. "As a reward for your hard work these past few days—your combat training, your cooperation, your improvements—we teachers have decided that Class 1-A has earned something special."
At that, the students leaned in, eyes wide.
"We are hosting..." All Might paused, grinned, and threw out his arms. "A PARTY!"
Mina and Kaminari instantly screamed in excitement.
All Might wasn't finished. "Music! Entertainment! Desserts, savory dishes, drinks—everything! A full-scale celebration right here at U.A."
Aizawa cut in flatly. "It's formal."
Mina froze. Uraraka gasped. Yaoyorozu clasped her hands dramatically. Jiro blinked, then smirked.
Todoroki tilted his head, confused but polite.
Aizawa continued, monotone but clear, "Students may wear formal attire. Suits, dresses, accessories—you choose. Or, if you prefer, you can dress however you want. But we recommend formal."
Mina looked like she was about to explode.
"A FORMAL PARTY?" she squealed, grabbing Uraraka's arms and bouncing. "We get to wear dresses?! Like actual dresses?! Like sparkly ones? Or cute ones? Or long flowy ones?"
Uraraka almost matched her energy. "We get to dress up! Like fancy fancy!"
Yaoyorozu was already brainstorming. "I can create custom accessories for everyone if needed. Gloves, jewelry, bags—anything!"
Tsu blinked calmly. "Ribbit. I think a simple dress might be cute."
Jiro groaned in playful dread. "You guys are going to make me wear something girly, huh?"
Mina sparkled. "YES."
Jiro slumped. "I knew it."
The boys reacted just as loudly but in a very different way.
Kaminari fist-pumped. "Bro! A party! I'm gonna look so cool in a suit!"
Sero grinned. "As long as there's food, I'm in."
Kirishima pumped both arms. "Manly formal wear! Let's go!"
Midoriya smiled. "I... I guess I can find something nice to wear..."
Todoroki nodded. "My sister taught me how to tie a tie."
At the same moment, across the room, Kirishima nudged Bakugo with a grin. "Hey man, looks like you're gonna have to wear a suit."
Bakugo's eye twitched violently. "I AIN'T WEARING ANYTHING RIDICULOUS."
Kirishima laughed. "Bro, it's a formal party—just try to look nice for one night."
Bakugo glared, sparks flickering at his palms. "I ALWAYS LOOK NICE."
Mina pointed at him immediately. "You are wearing something."
Bakugo glared at Mina. "SHUT UP, PINKY."
Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose. "The party will be tomorrow evening. You'll have plenty of time to prepare after class. Don't break anything. Don't break each other. Don't make me regret this."
All Might beamed. "We believe you all deserve this! Prepare yourselves well!"
With that, the two teachers exited, leaving behind a common room that immediately exploded into chatter.
The girls circled Yuuki almost instantly.
"Yuuki, we HAVE to find you the cutest dress ever!" Mina squealed.
"Something soft and pretty, right?" Uraraka added with a warm smile.
Yaoyorozu nodded thoughtfully. "Pastels might suit her well. Or something flowy and light."
Jiro crossed her arms, looking Yuuki up and down. "You'd look adorable in like... anything."
Yuuki blushed a deep pink, overwhelmed but unable to hide the small, excited smile growing across her face.
•••
Night settled over Heights Alliance, warm lights glowing from the windows as students trickled off to their rooms. One by one, the girls disappeared down the hallway—Mina dragging Uraraka with excited squeals about dresses, Jiro pretending not to be excited but smiling anyway, Hagakure literally skipping, and even Momo quietly planning potential hairstyle ideas. Yuuki followed behind them slowly, still unsure about dresses but happy to be part of something so fun.
Eventually, the girls' side of the dorm became quiet, lights dimming, doors closing, soft giggles fading into the distance.
But on the boys' side... nobody was ready to sleep. Not even close.
In the common room, half the boys had gathered around the couches like it was an emergency meeting. Kaminari sprawled across one couch upside down, feet hanging over the top while he kicked them excitedly. Mineta paced like he was planning a heist. Sero and Kirishima sat on the floor, sharing snacks. Midoriya scribbled frantically in one of his notebooks. Even Todoroki stayed, sitting stiffly but listening. Iida maintained his strict posture but looked exhausted from trying to maintain order. Bakugo sat in an armchair in the corner, glaring at everyone as if they were attacking his personal peace.
Kaminari's voice broke the calm. "Broooo, did you see how hyped the girls got? Tomorrow is gonna be awesome. Dances, music, pretty dresses—and we're gonna look GOOD."
Mineta practically started floating. "All the girls are gonna be dressed up... dancing... looking all cute...! I'm gonna dance with every single one of them!"
Kirishima snorted. "In your dreams, dude."
Mineta puffed out his cheeks. "You'll see! Mina will definitely dance with me! And Uraraka! And maybe—maybe even Yuuki! She's so tiny and cute, she'll totally want someone strong like me to keep her steady on the dance floor—"
He didn't finish. Because Bakugo was suddenly right in front of him. A palm snapped open, sparking violently.
"You wanna repeat that?" Bakugo growled, voice low and lethal.
Mineta stiffened like a trapped animal. "U-Uh—what? I was just saying—Yuuki's cute—"
BOOM. A mini explosion burst inches from Mineta's face.
Kaminari yelped and rolled off the couch. Sero grabbed Mineta by the collar and dragged him back before Bakugo could fry him completely. Kirishima tried not to laugh, but failed miserably. Todoroki blinked slowly, as if watching wildlife.
Iida slammed his hand down. "Mineta! Your behavior is unacceptable! Talking about our female classmates like that is both indecent and inappropriate—especially when one of them was injured today!"
Mineta shivered. "I-I didn't mean it like that! I just meant—she's cute!"
Bakugo's glare sharpened. "Say one more thing about her and I'll blast you through the ceiling."
Mineta squeaked and zipped his mouth shut with imaginary tape.
Kirishima patted Bakugo on the shoulder. "Woah there, bro, calm down. He's an idiot but don't actually blow him up."
Bakugo slapped his hand away. "I'll do what I want."
Midoriya, who had been scribbling notes on dance steps and possible suit choices, looked up nervously. "Kacchan... maybe try to relax a little? Yuuki would probably want everyone to have fun tomorrow..."
Bakugo shot him a look that said "shut up" but didn't explode him, which for Bakugo was practically affectionate.
Kaminari groaned dramatically. "Man... all of us are gonna look lame next to Bakugo tomorrow. He's gonna show up in some expensive suit and all the girls will go crazy—especially Yuuki."
Bakugo erupted instantly. "THE HELL THEY WILL. AND LEAVE HER OUT OF IT!"
Sero laughed. "Dude, you gotta chill, you sound jealous."
"I'M NOT—"
"—and protective," Todoroki added quietly.
Bakugo snapped toward him. "You wanna go, Half-and-Half?!"
While Bakugo tried to murder everyone with his eyes, Kaminari plopped onto the couch again, sighing dreamily. "Man, I can't wait for this party. Dancing with girls in pretty dresses... this is like heaven..."
Mineta nodded enthusiastically. "YES. We just gotta charm them! Step one: look handsome! Step two: ask politely! Step three: WIN THEIR HEARTS!"
Bakugo nearly exploded again. "WIN THEIR WHAT?!"
Midoriya nervously tugged at his notebook. "O-Okay, maybe we should—um—change the subject before Kacchan actually kills Mineta."
Kirishima raised his hand. "How about we talk about our outfits tomorrow? Like what we're actually gonna wear."
This worked. Kind of. Because the room erupted again—everyone had an opinion.
Kaminari wanted something flashy.Sero wanted something chill.Kirishima wanted something "manly."Midoriya wanted something functional.Mineta wanted something "appealing."Iida insisted on something proper and respectable.Todoroki said he didn't really care, but something simple would work.
Bakugo muttered something about not wearing anything stupid, but no one pushed him further because they all valued their lives.
