snow day (part five)

-Mikes pov-

We just sat there for probably five minutes. Staring at each other. It felt like forever to be honest.

But then Will sat up and whispered, "Can I show you how i feel?..."

"T-tell me first.. tell me how you feel before-...."

Will: "Okay well i-i like you.. wait no- i-i don't like you.. you know why?.."

"...wh-why?...."

Will: "Because i think i love you..."

"You think..?"

Will: "Yea..."

"What if im sure i love you?"

I was holding my breath. Worried he was joking. But no. Before I knew it he sat up to get closer to my face. And leaned closer to me.

Then he kissed me. On my lips.

Will Byers just kissed me.

I pull away. And before I could stop him, he gets up off the bed and pulls his sweater back over him.

"Wi-will..."

Will: "Sorry t-to far i-i know i- I should go anyways it-its getting late and m-moms gonna wo-"

"Will please don't do this.. Don't shut me out and push me away."

Will: "M-mike you know what will happen if we continue with this..."

He looks down and starts crying.

"I-im sorry th-that loving me is a bad thing..."

"Go home, Will..."

I run downstairs to the basement and slam the door shut. I can't fucking breathe. Again.. Then I hear Will running after me.

Will: "Mike open the door..."

.....

Will: "I-Im sorry I didn't mean loving you was bad o-or difficult-"

"Please j-just go home already..."

Will: "....fine.."

I hear him walk off, so I unlock the door. I didn't care if i hurt him now. What he said hit me like a fucking bus. Then he runs back down the stairs and opens the door.

"W-what now Will..."

Will: "were snowed in.. i-i can't open the door. I'm sorry I shouldn't have even come over today.."

"Stop talking like that. Go call your mom and tell her you're staying..."

Will: "Wh-what?.."

"You're not walking home in this weather, and nobody needs to drive in it if you're fine here. With me..."

Will: "All right I-I will call her.. Thanks Mike..."

"Mhm.."

He goes back upstairs to call his mom. Great. now we're stuck together...
