Chapter sixteen

Rosa's POV

I go to walk over to them but as I'm doing that he draws a gun and holds me hostage. The detectives draw their guns and run over whilst everyone else in the ED runs for cover.

'Let her go!' Jay shouts.

'No!' Carl screams.

'Carl. Listen to me.' I say calmly.

'SHUT UP!' He screams in my face.

'Lsiten to me Carl.' I demand. 'Think of your neice. Your family. It'll go down a lot better if you make the right desicion, but you raped her and she will never let that go. Don't make it worse by killing someone.' And with that I elbow him, grab his arm and flip him over my back. His gun slides across the run and Antonio picks it up while Erin cuffs Carl. 

'You OK?' Jay asks.

'Yeah. Thanks.' I reply.

'Great tactics.' Antonio tells him. 'Getting him calm and then doing that.' 

'Everyone in my family were detectives or officers. I'm the first doctor in the whole family.' I tell them. Just then a man walks over to us. 

'This is Sergant Voight. Our boss.' Jay informs me.

'Hi. Is this the man that raped and attacked that young girl.' He asks. I nod. 'How do you know him?' 

'He abused me. He went off the grid 4 years ago. Haven't seen him till today.' I say.

'We'll need you to make a statement.' Voight says. I nod. 'Can we speak to this girl?'

'Sure.' I take them to the room where Mary was. 'Hey Mary.' But she doesn't reply. 'Mary?' Sarah then runs in with an Ipad. She hands it to me and I look up to her. I walk over to her and shine a light in both her eyes. 'Time of death 18:31.' I declare.

'What happened?' Antonio asks. I walk back to the detectives.

'She suffered a major intracranial hemorrhage. It's a bleed and it was too severe. It kept bleeding and bleeding. There was nothing we could have done about it, even surgery would have killed her.' I explain. 

'Call homocide Dawson.' Voight orders. 'We'd like to take the body for an autopdy just to be sure of the cause of death.' I nod and we walk to Ms Goodwin's office to tell her what had happened.
