In front of the hotel, a private car was waiting for us, with the driver and two bodyguards Mae Add had ordered for us from NCC service, with a ZTL permit for high-profile VIP visits. My plan was much more public than Santa's, and his safety and our privacy were my first priority.

We needed about forty minutes to reach the destination. In the meantime, we watched the scenery and nightlife of Rome. They arranged for us to be dropped off as close as legally possible. We only needed to walk a couple of minutes to reach the surprise location. Santa was walking close to me, one of the bodyguards in front of us and one behind. It was almost eleven pm, so we didn't meet many people maybe some curious tourists and some lovely couples. I was watching him as he looked at the narrow streets and old buildings. He didn't ask anything, but I think he knew where we were headed.

When we were just a few steps away, Santa lifted his head and his face lit up. He looked at me and almost screamed: "You took me to the Trevi Fountain!"
