Familiar Hands

One-night stands are supposed to stay just that way. One night, two strangers never see each other again. Well... 3 days later you are under that person again. You don't remember how this started but both of you couldn't get enough.

You met up with some coworkers after a very busy day of traveling between meetings for dinner. You usually book 2 meetings a day 3 max but today you have 4 meetings and all of them are in different places.

"I'm glad you could make it! You are closing deals left and right." You smile and sit down next to Mark where the only empty seat is.

"Yeah it's a gift but that last client was a bit tricky. I hope all goes well." You take your jacket off and put your purse on the corner of the booth seat next to you.

"I think everything will go well. You are amazing." After small talk about work food was served and you all started chatting about other things.

"So Mark when do you leave for the US?" Mark cleared his throat and looked at you through the corner of his eye. He hadn't told you anything nor did he need to since you two are not in a relationship.

"Well I should be leaving next month but it's only for 2 weeks." You continue eating and taking soju shots as the conversation about Mark leaving for 2 weeks had your head spinning and heart aching.

"Well, I hope you have fun! I wish I could go back home more often but I'm too busy. You are lucky!" You smile at him and take another shot while stuffing a piece of pork belly in your mouth.

"Yes, you will have a ton of fun you should go to..." everyone speaking around you giving Mark suggestions of where he should go had become quiet even though their mouths were moving.

Mark had slid his hand into yours causing your senses to malfunction. You watch him smirk through the corner of your eye but try to continue eating.

"All of those places sound fun. Where do you think I should go?" Mark turned to you squeezing your hand 3 times to get your attention.

"Well, I think you should go to..." you stop for a second to think but your mind is blank as his thumb begins to rub the top of your hand.

"I'm too tired to think of a place right now." The attention was diverted to the other side of the table thankfully. You pull your hand away from his but he rests his hand on your thigh.

If anyone saw what was going on under the table they would question everything between the two of you and never stop teasing you.

After dinner, you all stood outside saying goodbye and seeing you later. You all started going your own way when a now familiar hand slid into yours again.

"How can I help you?" You sigh leaning on his shoulder as you two walk to the subway.

"Can I accompany you home? I want to make sure you get there safely." You chuckle and nod your head.

"Yeah, that's fine... I will say though... you didn't tell me about being gone for 2 weeks." He takes a deep breath and leans his head on the top of yours.

"I wanted to tell you myself but it got ruined." You both walk down the stairs to the subway just minding each other.

"You didn't really have to tell me we are not dating." You speak out after a few minutes of silence. His body tenses and you can feel the tension in the air between the two of you.

"I want to date you... I want to have only you... but I will wait until you are ready." You lift your head to look at him but then the train arrives and you both step in.

It was super crowded so Mark held on to the pole and you leaned against him trying to stand your ground. Your head on his chest was enough for you to realize that maybe you wanna be with him as well.

"We can talk more after my US trip deal?" He kisses the top of your head waiting for the door to open for both of you to hop out and continue to your place.

"Deal... but I want you to know that... I do want to be with you as well." His smile on his face was so big and he hugged you tightly.

"I finally get to kiss you whenever I want." He whispers leaning in and connecting your lips with his in a sweet chaste kiss.
