Chapter Fifteen

-You and H sat besides each other

"Look, I'm sorry about what happened to, you know, us" H ruined the peaceful silence

"I didn't know you two had something in the past" commented, Pawny

"Shh. Let them talk" M hushed Pawny just when X and H started

"I'm over it. Doesn't matter " you shrugged as you drank from the water bottle H handed you. We all know, what you said is a lie

"Well, it does to me. I've come to a conclusion of something" H started

You observed him. His posture, the way his arm would flex, his shirt's sleeve that he rolled up to his elbows, his watch, his eyes, his hair, jaw, nose, lips, everything.

You snapped out of the trance"Wow. That's surprising. You've come to a conclusion of what..?" you plainly asked, your tongue swirling around because of the hair you kept feeling

Seeing your frown, H questioned

"What's wrong?" You held up a hand to indicate he stop whatever he was gonna say

You put a finger on your tongue to remove the hair.

"Euck! Okay. Go on" you turned to H as you threw away the hair

"As I was saying, I've to the conclusion that I still have feelings for you" H slowly revealed which shocked you

"Okay, wow. Straightforward, I see" genuinely taken aback, you signaled for him to continue

"First, I would like to apologize for my past mistakes that created a ruckus in our relationship"

"I know it's too fast but you're forgiven" H's face lit up but calmed himself down

"Thank you" you could see his cheek shake from how hard he was smiling

cute. you hummed with a smile at him and nodded "Continue "

H continued talking

"Second, I would ask you, if you want to stay as friends or make something out of our feelings for each other" he announced

"Hold up" you held a hand up. You put your finger on your tongue again to pull another hair off"Where the hell are these coming from" you asked to your self in disgust

"And. How would you know of my feelings for you?" You questioned him with your brows raised and putting your hand down

H thought for awhile"You said it when we first met Pawny" he pointed at you and then to Pawny

Busted

You tried to play it off. Trying to fight off a blush

"Ehem. I didn't mean it" you raised your head at H

"Mh-hmm" H smirked at your flushed face

"Yeah, whatever. I still do. Know what?" You pursed your lips

"So friends or.." H dragged out the 'r'H had a huge sheepish smile when he pointed to you them to himself. He shrugged when he formed a heart with his fingers

While doing so, he mouthed" You. Me. Dating "

Laughing at his tactics, you answered" Not yet, Agent. Friends only, just friends"

You patted his shoulder as you spat out , yet another hair, behind you

"That's enough for me. Thank you" H gave X a genuine smile

- You sat beside M, watching the sun go down

H's jacket wrapped around your shoulder

Don't ask why

H fiddling with the weapon that turned back to a crystal. H put it down on the bike that the three of us pulled out of the sand awhile ago

"Vungus knew how powerful that thing was, right?" H started as it was directed to X"He knew it could destroy worlds, he gave it to you. He didn't even think of the harm he would've put you through. I don't understand, why not me?" H continued on

"Because he trusted me, H" you shrugged

"Look, I'm not doubting your general trustworthiness, X. It's just..We were the closest best buds. Not that I'm saying you and him weren't that close. But I sang at Vungus' mother's funeral"  H said

"I know. You sang quite beautifully" you whispered to him. You wanted to just sleep on your comfy bed and not think of the future

You and Vungus were close but not as close at H's friendship with Vungus. You mostly went on solo missions whenever H would go out with Vungus

You let H pour whatever he had in mind as you leaned at M

You wanted to doze off for a couple of seconds

"We knew everything about one another. I mean, hey, I'm pretty sure he trusted me. Heh" he coughed out. You both just began as friends but it seemed H got too consumed by overthinking

"If you want to know, he said You've changed. I kinda agree with him" you turned to face him. M doing it also.

"I'm getting sick of this ' you've changed ' crap" he sat down with a tool on his hand

"Well, it's because you did, H. Even I noticed it. Right after The Hive happened!" You argued. The new friendship formed, started crumbling down. It was good while it lasted

"Nothing happened. I'm the same person I was years before that even happened, X!"

M and Pawny could only watch the two silently as they argued

"What happened to you. I thought we were over this. You weren't this way years ago" you stood up with a glare at H. M held your hand in attempt to calm you down

"What way?" He stopped what he was fixing

"Vaguely inept" you started"Arrogant. Reckless." You listed"Am I missing something?"

"Cocky" Pawny helped you out"Foolish" M added to the list

"I feel so attacked. You are teaming up against me. Heh. Okay, yeah" H stood up to start walking towards you while talking

"Arrogant, Reckless, Cocky, and Foolish. Maybe I am those things. But, my job is to save the world. And that's what I did and do" he neared you

"I do a good job at it. While that's happening, the rules are: there are no rules" H said angrily. Your faces were so close that your noses could touch

"That's a rule" you pointed out as H backed away. Pawny and M hummed nodding at you

H let out a sigh, "Sorry, I'm just blinded by the fact he trusted you more. I do wish we're still friends

"This is your last warning, H" you squited your eyes at him

He saluted with a smile"Yes, ma'am"

" Dork"

What you four didn't notice was the water bottle cap, twisting open

"Argh! Damn it. All right, nobody move" Bassam shouted, pointing his gun at you four

Of course with that unexpected, H pulled X behind him.

"Drop it, ugly hair ballsack!" Pawny sheathed his sword and pointed it at him

"Nobody move!" Bassam warned the four, waving his gun around

"Bassam, how'd you get here?" H asked as you stepped forward to go to his side

"Through the bottle, H" you deadpanned at the man

You saw H look at Bassam with a scowl

"Feeling hydrated, anyone?..Never had a bath before. Lost two pounds in dirt alone" he shook his body as he scratched it

You are disgusted. Letting out a groan as you feel the need to puke out the water you drank

"God, we drank from that" H spat out

"I thought it tasted like a living beard" M looked like she regretted living at this point

"So, That's why there was hair on my tongue" you gagged as H patted you back to stop you from puking

"Okay. Uhm. Bassam, listen. All right, mate?" H said with an accent"Uh, let's be sensible" H held out his hand to assure Bassam that he means no harm

"I don't think you know what you're dealing with. So giv--" you convince the creature

"Oh, no. I definitely do. Which is why she's gonna pay so much for it" with that he blasted off. You tried to run to catch him but it's too late

"Wait, no!""No. No. No!" You three shouted out a groan

"Have a nice life, bozos!" He blasted away

"Darned, ballsack!" You kicked the sand, watching the small figure disappear from your sight

"Great job, H" M finally talked

You slumped down the sand with a deep breath
