Sweet Birds Of Paradox
23:44, 24 July 2014Two Months Later.
Months went by as Scott and I were now a married couple. I couldn't be any happier! During these weeks, my bump has grown. I love it, knowing that there is a little human right there. It's an odd feeling, but poor Syd is getting closer to her due-date. She's so uncomfortable, she says. But Steven's babies are coming soon!
I sat upstairs on the couch as Scott went downstairs to answer the front door.
"Ah, 'ello, Sydney!" Scott greeted Sydney.
Sydney smiled, "'Ello, Scott." She said, waddling past him.
I smirked as Sydney slowly walked up the stairs.
"Damn, ya look like yer're about to pop!" I said.
"Ha,Ha. I'm almost nine-months, I just want these kids out already!" She complained, sitting next to me.
I smirked.
Sydney looked at me, "Your bump is so cute and small compared to mine." She sighed.
I chuckled, "Syd, you're 'aving twins. Don't sweat it."
Sydney smirked, "I'll try not to." She said, gently placing her hands on her belly.
"Is Scott still treatin' ya good?" She asked.
Scott skipped up the stairs, "I'm right 'ere ya know." He said, sitting beside me.
I smirked, "Yes, he is." I turned to Scott.
"And I love it so much." I cooed.
Scott smirked, kissing my lips.
"Oh, 'ow could ya two be so affectionate?" Sydney said.
Scott wrapped his arm around me, I shrugged, "Love?" I giggled.
Sydney rolled my eyes, "Love my ass.." She mumbled.
I chuckled, "Why? What's Steven like?" I asked.
Sydney sighed, "He's been there, he's loving and all..Just not as affectionate as Scott over 'ere." She said.
"Oh, once the babies are born I'm sure he'll be all over ya." I winked at Sydney.
Sydney smirked, "Maybe. I'll never look the same though."
I scoffed, "Yer're beautiful, Sydney. Ya look great still!" I said.
Sydney blushed, "Thank ya, Julia."
Scott got up from the couch, "Would ya ladies like some tea?" He kindly asked.
I smiled, "No thanks, darling."
"I'll take a cup." Sydney said.
Scott nodded as he headed towards the kitchen.
I scooted closer to Sydney.
" 'Ow are ya feelin'?" I asked, curious.
"Uncomfortable, huge, emotional. Everything, Julia! I'm feeling everything!" She laughed.
I chuckled, placing my hands on her stomach, "Well, soon the little rock stars will be 'ere. It'll be worth it, eh?" I said.
Sydney smiled down at her belly, "Yeah." She smiled widely.
Scott walked out of the kitchen, " 'Ere's yer tea, madam." Scott said, gently handing Sydney her hot tea.
Sydney chuckled, "Thank ya, Scott."
Scott smiled at her as he sat down beside me, "Yer're welcome!"
I looked at Scott, "I just realized something.." I softly said.
Scott tilted his head, "What?"
"Well, does yer parents even realize you've been living 'ere?" I asked.
Scott looked up at the ceiling, "Hmm..."
He shrugged, "I honestly don't know.." He softly said.
I smirked, "Well, ya are me neighb-"
Scott cut me off by placing his finger on my lips.
"No, I'm yer husband." He smirked.
I smirked, "Yes, yer're me husband." I leaned closer to him as I kissed his lips.
"Um, 'Ello? I'm still 'ere." Sydney said, waving her hands in the air.
I giggled, turning towards Sydney.
"Right, sorry. What were ya sayin'?" I asked.
Sydney sighed, "Well, what I was saying was tha-"
Sydney stopped speaking as her eyes went wide.
I tilted my head, "Syd? Ya were sayin' that what?" I asked.
Sydney put her teacup on the coffee table in front of us.
She cleared her throat, "Um, I-I was saying that I th-"
She stopped speaking again.
I looked at her oddly, gently placing my hand on her back.
"Sydney, are ya alright?" I gently asked.
Sydney took a deep breath, "Y-yeah, I think.. Anyway I- AH!" She screamed, bending down in pain.
I gasped, "Sydney?" I asked.
"Oh god.." She whimpered, holding onto her stomach.
My eyes widened as I turned to Scott, "Scott, go get the car!" I quickly said.
Scott's eyes widened as he ran downstairs to the front door.
"Are ya 'aving the babies now?" I asked Sydney, trying not to panic.
"I don't know, Julia! I've never 'ad a fuckin' baby before!" She snapped.
I bit my lip. Don't argue with a pregnant woman that's going into labor. This won't go well if I do.
"Alright, Syd. We're going to 'ave to go down the stairs. I'll 'elp ya though, alright?" I carefully said.
Sydney nodded furiously, "Go on!" She raised her voice.
I grabbed Sydney's hand, carefully guiding her down the stairs.
"Just keep taking big breaths." I said.
Sydney nodded as she breathed deeply.
"Oh god.." She mumbled as she started to cry.
"Don't cry, Syd. It's going to be alright, ya prepared for this moment!" I said.
Sydney nodded as we walked out the front door.
Scott waited in the car.
Sydney went in the back seat of the car as I slid right next to her.
"GO SCOTT!" I shouted.
Scott nodded quickly as he drove off.
I can tell Scott's nervous, he's almost sweating and not saying anything. Poor Scott.. I hope he doesn't panic so much when I'm in labor...
"AHHHHH!!!! 'URRY THE FUCK UP!!" Sydney screamed.
I gasped, rubbing Sydney's forehead.
"Just keep breathing, doll. We're almost there, right Scott?" I turned my head towards Scott.
"Well....Um..." Scott mumbled.
"What?" I raised my voice.
"Umm.. Julia, there is a problem.." Scott said, stretching his words out.
"What is it, Scott?!" I said, starting to panic more.
Scott stopped the car.
My eyes widened. Sydney started panicking.
"What's going on!? Why 'ave we stopped?!" She cried.
Scott turned around, "Julia, we're in traffic." Scott said.
My eyes widened, "TRAFFIC?! SINCE WHEN DOES FUCKIN' LIVERPOOL GET TRAFFIC?!" I yelled.
"Darling, calm down. I-"
"HOW THE 'ELL CAN I CALM DOWN?! THERE AREN'T PHONES AROUND, AND THERE ARE NO DOCTORS!" I shouted.
Scott sighed, "Julia, I don't k-"
"AHHHHHH!!!!" Sydney let out a painful scream as she bent over.
My eyes widened.
"Do ya think ya can wait for traffic?" Scott said, trying to crack a joke.
I whacked his arm.
"No!" Sydney cried.
"The babies are coming right now. Oh my god, I need Steven!" Sydney cried.
My eyes widened, If I knew birth was going to be like this well.. Gosh.
I turned to Scott, "We need to.... Check her." I said.
Scott tilted his head.
My eyes looked down at Sydney's hips.
Scott's eyes widened, "I'm not checking! I'm sorry, darling! But that's my best friend's girlfriend right there!" He said.
"Scott! Steven is my best friend as well!" I shouted.
"Yeah, well yer're a fucking girl! Ya 'ave the same parts!" Scott said, turning around.
I sighed, turning to Sydney.
"I need to check 'ow far the baby is, okay?" I calmly said.
Sydney nodded.
I looked up at the sky. God, I've done sins. I need your fucking help today though.
I sighed, lifting Sydney's dress up.
"Think of me as the doctor." I calmly said.
Sydney nodded furiously as she started sweating.
I sighed, taking her underwear off.
The sight I saw almost made me throw up.
Scott suddenly turned around, "'Ey, Julia! I-" He stopped as he saw Sydney.
"Oh god." He said, opening his car door as he threw up.
I groaned.
" 'Ow far are yer contractions?" I asked Sydney.
"I don't know! 10 minutes?!" She cried.
I sighed, "The babies are coming now, Sydney." I softly said.
"What about Steven?! I need Steven!!" Sydney cried.
"Steven will be 'ere later, Syd. I promise! Yer babies aren't waiting for their daddy any longer!" I said.
Sydney sighed, "Fine! Just, p- Ow!" She said, feeling another contraction.
I'm pregnant with one child and I'm already thinking about the pain of birth. As bad as this sounds, I feel a little more at ease with my one-child pregnancy comparison to Sydney's... God damn, Sydney.
I looked at Sydney, "Alright, Syd. Yer're very close.. On the count of three, I want you to push, Okay?" I gently asked.
Sydney nodded, groaning in pain.
"Alright, 1....2....3! PUSH!" I yelled.
Sydney started pushing.
"AH!" She shouted from the pain.
My god, this girl is a screamer.
I gasped, "I see a head!" I shouted.
Scott covered his ears, "I can't even, oh my god."
"Alright, another push in 1...2...3, PUSH!" I shouted.
Sydney started pushing, groaning in pain. I could tell she was trying not to scream again.
"Yer're almost there, Syd! The first baby is almost 'ere!" I shouted, feeling joy come over myself.
"SCOTT! WE NEED YA BACK 'ERE WHETHER YA LIKE IT OR NOT!" I shouted.
Scott quickly nodded, getting out of the car as he rushed towards my side.
I turned to him as Sydney pushed again.
"We need ya to clean the babies once their 'ere. Okay? Please, Scott." I said.
"I've got a pocket knife for the umbilical cords." He said.
I stared at Scott, "Why the 'ell do ya keep a pocket knife?" I said.
"Just in case I-"
"FOR FUCKS SAKE, JULIA!!" Sydney shouted.
I gasped, my head snapping towards Sydney.
"Scott, just get some fucking blankets or whatever the 'ell we 'ave 'ere!" I said.
Scott nodded as he started looking around in the car.
I lifted Sydney's dress, "Alright, just one more push and this first baby will be out!" I said.
"Take a big breath, Sydney. Alright, 1.....2....3. PUSH!" I shouted.
I got my hands ready as Sydney started pushing.
I grabbed the first baby.
The car filled with silence as the first cry was heard.
Sydney gasped as she started crying harder, "Oh my god.." She whispered, covering her mouth.
Scott leaned over and cut the baby's umbilical cord.
"It's a girl." I smiled, handing the baby to Scott.
"Oh, Syd. She's so beautiful.." Scott said, cleaning her off with his jacket.
"Ya owe me a fuckin' new jacket.." Scott grumbled.
Sydney's smile soon went away as she started groaning in pain.
I smirked, "Syd, you've now been through this once. Do ya think ya can do it again?" I said.
Sydney nodded, grabbing onto the door handle hard. "Fuck yeah.." She mumbled beneath her breath.
I smirked, "Alright, let me check 'ow this baby is doing." I said, lifting her dress up.
Never in my life I thought I'd watch my best friend's girlfriend give birth. Nor did I think I would be helping her give birth.. I never thought I'd see another lady part.. Especially for the hours I have been doing this for now.
I sighed, "Alright, this baby really wants to come out now. I need ya to push on the count of three. Alright?" I calmly asked.
"Mhm!" Sydney nodded, biting her lip.
Poor Syd. She was a cheerleader in high-school, she's used to yelling.
We suddenly started hearing car horns beep at us.
I looked back, Now traffic is done?
I sighed, "Scott, get back to driving. I'll cut the chord, ya just need to take us to the 'ospital." I sternly said.
Scott nodded, gently putting his pocket knife down as he ran back to the front.
"Alright, Syd. 1.......2......3.. PUSH!" I shouted.
Sydney pushed hard as she groaned in pain.
My eyes widened seeing how fast the baby was coming out.
I started chuckling.
"What? What is it?" Sydney asked worriedly.
"This baby is coming out so fast, Syd. Goodness." I said.
Sydney chuckled.
"No, stop laughing, Syd! The baby is coming out faster now!" I raised my voice.
With me saying that, that caused Sydney to laugh harder.
"Oh god.." I mumbled.
At least she's having a happy birth.... A fucking weird happy birth.
"Oh! The baby is almost 'ere! Keep laughing or something!" I shouted.
Sydney giggled.
Suddenly the baby fell right into my hands.
I gasped, quickly cutting the chord as the baby cried loudly.
The car suddenly stopped, I held onto the babies tightly.
"Scott?" I said.
"We're 'ere. We've made it to the 'ospital." Scott breathlessly said.
Why the hell is he breathless?
I turned to my left, seeing the car door swing open as doctors took the babies.
"It's a boy, Syd." I smiled.
Sydney looked at me tiredly, "Thank ya.." She whispered as a doctor carried her into the hospital.
I looked at Sydney's seat. Julia, remind yourself never to sit there again, unless you are giving birth.
