Ding! Ding!

My phone received a new text. I grabbed my phone off of my nightstand and looked at the screen. It was a text from Shannon.

"Hey! I know it's like, 2 am and stuff but... I decided I was coming in for a visit! I want to get away from Florida for a little. I'm coming to Ohio!"

"OMG Shan! That's amazing news! I'm so happy oh my gosh! When will you be here?"

"I'm coming in tomorrow, well, today, at 4 pm!"

"That's great! I'll make sure me and Kyle pick you up from the airport."

"That's great! Hey, how are ya'll two?"

I had told Shannon about my situation with Kyle. She know that I like him, that he doesn't know, and you know, everything.

"We're fine. We went to in & out after ya'll left. He got the cashier's number. They're going on a date tomorrow."

"Wait, isn't he dating Avery?"

"Naw, they broke it off."

"Why?"

"Idek. He told me, but i wasn't really paying attention. Something about how she's too pushy and demanding, I think. I don't know, I was too busy lost in my own thoughts."

"Wow. That stinks. But atleast I'll be here to cheer you up!"

"Yes! I'm so happy about that!"

"Me too! But hey, I gotta go, I've got a flight to catch, bye!"

"Bye Shan!"

And with the end of that conversation,  I fell asleep with a smile on my face- something I haven't done in a while.

"Do you think we're ready for this?" Kyle asks me.

"Totally. We have all of our lines down. We're gonna be great."

With all of the stuff that's been going on, I've almost forgotten about the play we have to do.

"Hey Kyle, can we cut practice short today? I kinda need a favor." I tell him.

"Yes?"

"Can you pwetty pwease take me to pick up Shannon at the airport? She comes in at four and I can't wait to see her!"

"Shan's coming in? And sure."

"Yeah, isn't that amazing?"

"Yeah... but why didn't she tell me? She told you first? Since when are ya'll such great friends?"

"Since we met at the hotel room. We kinda bonded over the whole Alex situation."

"What Alex situation?"

"Uh... Nothing! Let's go, I don't wanna be late!" I say as I grab Kyle's hand and run towards his car.

I blush when I realize what I had done and then let go of his hand.

"Sorry." I say shyly.

"For what?" Kyle asks.

"Oh nothin'. Nothin' at all."

We got to the airport at 3:48 pm.

As soon as we parked, we walked towards terminal B, which is where Shannon is supposed to be at when she lands. While we waited, a petite girl with short blonde hair came up to me and Kyle with a huge grin on her face.

"H-hi. My name's Kayla. C-can I take a picture with you?" The blonde asks Kyle.

"Sure." He replies with a smile.

He never fails to amaze me with his sweetness. He's just so adorable, and the love he has for his fans is amazing.

"Oh my god, Kyle! Is this your new girlfriend? She's soooo pretty!" The blonde girl, Kayla, says while pointing at me.

I quickly shake my head. "No honey."

"No, she's just my friend." Kyle says, still with a smile.

Yeah, just a friend. I wish I was more...

"That's a shame. Ya'll are literally OTP material." Kayla says before skipping off into the depths of the airport.

After that, the silence was unbearable. Thank God Shannon's flight came in a little earlier than usual, I couldn't stand to alone with Kyle for another minute.

"Imogen!!" Shannon says as she runs towards me.

"Shannon!!" I say as I run towards Shannon.

We meet each other halfway and give each other the biggest bear hug ever. It's like if we haven't seen each other for years.

You can hear Kyle's soft chuckle in the background.

Kyle comes up to greet Shannon as soon as we let go of our hug, and then we headed to Kyle's car.

"So, Shan. Where do I take you? What hotel are you staying at?" Kyle asks Shannon.

"Well, I didn't like, pre-book a hotel room since this was an unexpected little trip, so just take me to any hotel and I'll rent one there." Shannon replies.

"NONSENSE!" I bud in. "You can stay with me!"

"Really?" Shan asks.

"Totally!"

"Yay!"

"Wait, both of you, together, under one roof?" Kyle says.

"Ya?" Me and Shannon both say simultaneously.

Kyle raises an eyebrow.

"Ya'll are gonna cause a lot of trouble, aren't ya'll?" Kyle asks us.

Me and Shannon look at each other, mischievous grins on our faces.

"Yup!" We say, again, in unison.
