note on the fridge
00:11, 10 July 2015It's been about a month since I've moved here, and it's not as bad as expected. Avery has been coming over almost everyday and I guess you can say we're best friends. We know everything about each other and do everything together. I'm glad I have her by my side to help me through my new school.
The school system is different in Ohio, so I'm starting school in a month, and today I'm going back to school shopping with Avery.

"Hey Aves, what about this one?" I shout from across of Claire's, holding up a green backpack with pink flowers on the front pocket.
"No. Definitely not. It just doesn't scream I M O G E N" She adds emphasis to my name. "What about this one, for me?" She asks as she holds up a a lavender purple backpack with the moon emoji spread all over it.
"I LOVE IT! I think it's perfect for you!"
"You think so? I mean I- O.M.G Imogen, I think I just found your backpack!" She turns around and looks at me, squealing with excitement. She held up a black backpack with silver studs all over the front flap and pockets.
"Avery, it's perfect!"
"Yeah well, I know my best friend all to well." She tells me with a smile.
After paying for our new backpacks I turn to face her on our way out.
"So Aves, where do you want to go school clothes shopping?"
"Imogen, what do you mean, "school clothes shopping?"
"Well, I'm going to need a whole new wardrobe for school. I mean, I want to look good."
"Imogen, our school uses uniforms..."
I felt my little heart crumble up into a million tiny pieces. "whAt!?"
"If it makes you feel any better... I'll be wearing them too"
I just look at her with disappointment in my face as we walk out of the mall. Our next stop is target. We need to buy ACTUAL school supplies.
After picking up our school items, Avery drops me off at home and then drives across the street to hers.
"Thanks for the help Aves!"
"You're welcome, see you tomorrow!"
And with a wave of a hand, she was gone. I walk inside to see my house empty. There was a note on the fridge:
"Imogen: your father and I went grocery shopping. We will be back in a few. Love, mom."
With a sigh, I rip the note off of the fridge and throw it in the garbage can in the corner of the kitchen. My parents are almost never here. I'm always alone.
I walk upstairs, taking my bags with me. When I get there, I just throw the bags in the floor, take off my shoes, and lay stomach-down on the bed. I take my laptop off of my night stand and open it. Within a few clicks, all you hear is:
"Hey, Kyforce!"
A/N: Just so you guys can get a better picture, Imogen's backpack is the one in the picture above. We'll get to the "Kyle" parts soon! Thank for reading!! - Clari 💜
