Chapter 13

22:22, 5 January 2016

Camila's eyes flutter open as she woke up the next morning. She stretched a bit as her eyes adjusted. She felt around the bed and frowned when she found it empty. She sat up, covering herself with the blanket as she looked around. She pouted as she rubbed her sleepy eyes. She turned to look at the clock and found a note on the nightstand. She picked it up and a smile crept onto her face.

You look beautiful today, just like every other day.

Camila rolled her eyes at how incredibly cheesy her girlfriend was. She got out of bed and dropped the blanket on the ground. She shivered slightly since she wasn't really wearing any clothes. Camila grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her body before tying her hair up into a messy bun.

She walked towards the bathroom and flipped the lights on. She blinked when she saw another note on the mirror.

If beauty were time, you'd be eternity.

Camila looked at her reflection. Normally, she'd look terribly right after she woke up but after reading that note, she saw her own beauty. Camila smiled softly as she blushed slightly. She shook her head as she went ahead to brush her teeth and take a hot shower.

Camila quickly got dressed before walking towards the window and pushed the curtains open. She smiled when she saw another note, stuck on the window. She peeled it out and read it.

I never need to see the sun again because your eyes light up my world.

Camila shook her head as she walked out of her bedroom. She walked over to the kitchen to grab a banana when she saw yet another note.

Are you a banana? Because I find you a-peeling

"Oh god, this is so cheesy," Camila chuckled as she peeled her banana and took a bite of it. After she was done, she walked over the the study room and saw a note on her work desk.

You're kinda, sorta, basically, pretty much always on my mind.

Camila blushed. Her girlfriend was so endearing. Camila sat in her desk and picked up her book and opened it to a certain chapter. She reached out and took out a pencil and wasn't surprised when she saw a note around it.

Life without you would be like a broken pencil... pointless.

Camila giggled as she pulled the note off the pencil and set it aside with the rest of the notes. She studied for 2 hours before she decided to take a break and order pizza. When the pizza arrived, her mind was blown.

You're like pizza. Even when you are bad, you're good

"How do you even do that?" Camila asked as she read the note. She ate her food and walked towards the fridge to get a drink and saw yet another note.

I hope your day has been as beautiful as you are.

Camila took the note and dialed Lauren's number. After a few rings, the green eyed girl answered the call.

"Hey babe, what's up?" Lauren asked.

"What's up? Lauren, what's with all these notes all around the apartment?" Camila asked.

"Why? You don't like it?"

"Like it? Lauren, I love it and I'm literally swooning but you're not here," Camila said.

"I'll be home soon, okay?"

"Okay," Camila said.

"Hey Camz?"

"Yeah?"

"If I had a star for every time you brightened my day, I'd have a galaxy in my hand," Lauren said.

Camila blushed, "You're such a dork."

"But I'm your dork," Lauren said.

Camila bit her bottom lip, "Hurry back," Camila said as she hung up. The brunette smiled to herself as she bit her bottom lip.

"God, what did you do to me, Jauregui?" Camila asked, chuckling. She gave her a mental slap in the face before walking back to the study room to get a few more hours in of studying.

~

Camila locked herself in the study room the entire day. She didn't even hear when Lauren came home. When she walked out of the room, the lights were off but the living room was dimly lit with candles. There were rose petals everywhere. Then she saw a note on the table.

Rejection can lead to emotional stress for both parties involved and emotional stress can lead to physical complications such as headaches, ulcers, cancerous tumors, and even death! So for my health and yours, JUST SAY YES!

Camila giggled, "Say yes to what?"

The brunette turned around and saw the girl she love smiling softly at her as she approached her. Camila's face fell when she saw Lauren kneeling in front of her and put out a small velvet box. Camila froze in her place.

"Camila, I have loved you for as long as I can remember. You are the best friend I could ever ask for and you've been there through everything."

"Things have been tough but we made it through all that."

"I realized then no measure of time with you will be long enough," Lauren paused, "But we'll start with forever."

Camila chuckled, "Quoting from Twilight now?"

Lauren laughed, "If you don't mind, I'd like to say one last cheesy line."

"Go for it, hot shot," Camila said as she wiped her tear.

"If nothing lasts forever, will you be my nothing?" Lauren asked as she opened the box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring, "Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao, will you make me the happiest person in the world and marry me?"

Camila couldn't stop the tears anymore. She let her tears flow down her cheeks as she nodded. Lauren slid the ring onto Camila's finger and stood up. Camila cupped Lauren's face and kissed her lips before hugging her tightly.

"I love you so much, Camila," Lauren said as she hugged her back.

"I love you too, Lauren, so much," Camila said as she cried.

~

Camila was up on the roof, sitting on the armchair that was there, staring at the night sky.

"Hey," she heard behind her.

Camila turned around and smiled warmly at Lauren as she walked towards her. The girl handed Camila a cup of hot cocoa, which the brunette gladly took.

"Hey," Camila replied as Lauren gave her a kiss on her cheek before taking a seat beside her.

"What are you thinking?"

"It's a strange feeling," Camila said honestly, "Being engaged."

"But it's nice," Camila said to Lauren with a smile.

"Where did you even get the ring?" Camila asked.

"It was my grandmothers' actually."

Camila's face softened as she set her cup down on a table beside her. She grabbed Lauren's face and gave her a soft kiss on the lips. She pulled away and rested her forehead against Lauren's.

"I love you," she said.

"I love you too," Lauren said.

Camila leaned back and watched Lauren raised their interlaced hands and kissed Camila's knuckles.

"Does anyone know?" she asked.

"My mom," she said, "She gave me the ring."

"And your parents."

Camila's eyes widened in surprise.

"Despite the circumstances, I still wanted to be traditional and ask your parents permission."

Camila smiled as she shook her head, "You're so cute," she gave her another kiss. Lauren kissed her back before she could pull away and she deepened the kiss. Camila pulled away and took a deep breath.

"Whoa," Camila said as Lauren giggled shyly.

"I'd never get used to that."

"Well, you better," Lauren said as she gazed into her fiancée's brown eyes. Her eyes were filled with love and Lauren's eyes reflected that as well. And in that moment, everything was perfect.

~

A/N: It's short but it's coming to an end :( yup, that's right. There isn't much left to be honest. Lauren got the girl and she's gonna marry her. Yay for camren!

Next chapter is the epilogue.

Love you guys!

P.S. Originally, what was supposed to happen was Lauren would propose in bed before they head back to Miami for Christmas. It was supposed to be a Christmas/New Year chapter but I don't celebrate Christmas so I scraped it because it wouldn't be authentic.

But did you like how Lauren proposed tho? I mean how cheesy is that? I literally googled "cheesy pick up lines" for another fic I'm working on but I decided to use some lines on this one lol.
