Chapter 24

Troy walks out of the apartment and down the street to the the end of the road.

He let's out an aggravated sigh, as his breath showing through the cold night.

As he reaches the end of the street he walks down the hill to a remote area in the forest, a small grey building, the door and dirt floor of the forest illuminated by a small lamp.

He knocks on it, a quick sharp one as the door then opens allowing him entrance.

He goes down a long case of stairs, only the spindle of his combat boots tapping softly on each step.

When he reaches the bottom he  is greeted by a hospital looking  lobby.

He goes to the desk at the back and gives a quick nods to the clerk.

"Tell Mr.Walsh, that.. that someone may try to disrupt the work at the institute, tell him its from me"  he says in a quiet but firm tone.

The lady nods her head and stands up, walking towards a door behind the desk and disappearing. 

Troy leaves the building and quickly heads back to the open street, now walking casually and pulling out a cigarette as he sees his pet waiting for him patiently at the lamp post.

"Where were you?"  She asks looking up from her phone.

"Cant a guy have some privacy when he needs to use the bathroom, jesus."  He says with a chuckle before grabbing her around the waist and heading back to the apartment.

Will wakes up wide eyed.  Its 6:00am and he wish he could fall back to sleep, but his nerves are getting jumbled again.

He sits up and looks out the window the water looking like a pale blue as the waves lap over eachother quietly.

He tiptoes out of the room and closes the door so that he doesnt distrup Mike's slumber and picks up the map to check it out.  Making sure he got the route correct.

As he putters around he hears Mike open the door and rub one of his eyes and yawn making Will less tense and chuckle.

"Good morning Mike."  He says softly as his tail wags a little while we walks over to Mike giving the ravenette a soft but longing kiss which Mike returns.

"Shall we get dressed and go?"  Mike says with a smile if reassurance as Will pauses but nods.

Once they head out the door with their backpacks and car keys, they are greeted by Troy waiting for them in the hallway.

As Will locks the door Mike glares at the other ravenette.

"Did you need something?  We're busy getting ready to have a date." Mike says in a tone full of poison as Troy puts his hands up.

"Dont mind me, I'm just wondering where you guys are off too."  He states making both boys on edge.

"Over to the south of the lake, thought itd be nice to do some sight seeing around the area."  Will states bluntly before grabbing Mike's hand and walking them out of there before he gets a panic attack.

Mike smiles and kisses the brunette on the top of his head.  "Good job back there~.  So strong and confident~."  Mike teases making Will laugh.

"Nows not the time for that Mike."  Will states with a smirk before both of them get into the car.

As they drive out of the small town they head East towards the town Will grow up, Hawkins.

Will hilds out the map as he helps Mike navigate through the highways and the side roads.

Mike turns on the radio as they cruise along the highway, making Will space out as the song comes on.

"So you gotta let me now~.

Should I stay or should I go"  the singer sings making Will feel hopeful.

Maybe everything was okay with Jonathn and mom, maybe everyone is alright and they are just missing Will.

Mike rests his hand on Wills thigh taking the werewolf out of his thoughts.

"Hey you okay?"  Mike asks with concern, reverting his eyes back onto the road.

"Yeah...."  Will says quietly.

"Yeah I'm fine."  Will repeats as he holds Mike's hand, his other hand holding the map as he smiles, making sure they dont miss the exit.

It's been roughly 3 hours and they decided to stop at an exit and eat their sandwiches taking in the sunlight ik the clear sky with their roof window.

"Thank you for making these Mike."  Will says happily before he eats. 

Mike ruffles the werewolf's hair, making the boy wag his tail a little.

"No problem cutie."  Mike replies before he takes a bit if his own.

They sit in silence for a moment, only the sounds of themselves chewing softly until Will speaks.

"I bet he knew we were gonna go see my Mom and Jonathan."  Will states as his ears tilt forward with concern.

"I agree, but I'm sure you made it firm to him that we are just going on a date."  Mike reassures as Will seems reluctant that Troy believed him.

"He knows something..  and I'm not sure I'd want to know it too."  Will goes on as Mike finishes his sandwich and sits on the driver's seat in a casual, laid back position.

"Well I think you do.  You wouldn't have agreed to find your family if you didnt want the answer.  You wouldn't have felt confident lying to Troy about us going sight seeing if you didnt want to come."  Mike explains he grabs Will's chin.

"And I'm glad to tag along babe."  He says before kissing Will on the lips.

Mike then gets his seat belt on and runs the engine, driving out of the parking lot they stopped in, and left back for the highway while Will finished his food and got the map out again.

The sun was starting to set as Will directs Mike through the side road to the town,  but both look up finding signs saying:

If You Dont Live Here, Scram.

All races who oppose the blood market gets Fucked.

Dont come in.

Mike turns to the side and turns off the truck as they look at eachother in the dark falling onto them.

Mike nods his head in disbelief.  "You were right, something is up."  He says in a slightly scared tone.

Before Will could reply the notice lights up ahead from a car coming towards them.

"Shit.  Do we hide-"

"No" Mike says firmly before pulling out a collar from his backpack.

"What is that, and why did you bring it!?"  Will says as a blush creeps his face but his voice sounds high pitched and confused.

"They clearly are for the Blood Market, we need to look like it too, take off your shirt."  He instructs as Will frantically hides the map and pulls off his shirt before Mike places the collar around his neck.

Mike pauses to look at Will, his smirk almost appearing on his face, but bites the inside of his lips to stop it from forming.

Now wasnt the time to smile about how hot Will looked.

The car parked on the other side of the road and an armed man gets out of the vehicle and walks towards their car.

Will starts to feel himself panic, he tries to calm down and take deep breaths as Mike turns on the vehicle and open the window.

"What business do you have in Hawkins?"  The man says in a dark yet quiet tone, his appearance made Will shiver from being afraid.

"Thought I'd take my Pet on a little night trip~"  mike replies with a teasing voice as he turns on the light to reveal the half naked werewolf looking at the man with fear.

The man peers through the window and grunts as Mike places as hand on Wills thigh, giving it a reassuring squeeze before he slaps it lightly earning a confused gasp from Will.

"Well I'd let you in Hawkins, but its after hours for the city,  people here got a curfew."  He states bluntly as Mike looks at him with a curious look.

"And would you mind telling me why?" Mike asks with a curious but soft tone as Will sits up straight, not daring to move.

"Yeah, there were a lot of riots and rebels who came to the the different Blood Markets trashing them.  So we had them taken away."  Will gasps and leans towards the large man.

"What do you mean!?  Why were they-!"  Mike grabbed Will's chin and made a face of disgust, but his eyes told Will reassurance.

But Will wasnt acting and Mike realized that loosening his grip a little.

"Quiet Pet..  I'm sorry about that sir."  Mike says sternly but then returns his sweet soft tone towards the armed man.

"No worries, to be honest he has every right to feel afraid about that, I agree with having the blood market, but I disagree with how they are treating the people against it."  The man states showing a bit of sorrow in his eyes.

"Where were they taken?"  Mike asks showing a hint of eagerness in his tone that both Mike and Will knew was fake.

The older vampire places a hand behind his neck.  "I dunno if I should tell you but.."  he trails of and ponders but then decides to give in.

"They are taking anyone around who is against the blood market to an institution.  Only werewolves though, I'm not sure why."  the man says quietly before looking over his shoulder then look back at Mike.

"Listen, I dont care how you do it, but get out of here now,  otherwise the other guards will wonder what's the hold up with me."  He says bluntly before walking back to his car.

As Mike turns on the engine and makes a U-turn driving slowly as he turns the light off,  Will starts to cry.

He tries to keep his sobs silent as Mike finds a spot to park on another side road, finding an entrance to a driveway.

The ravenette grabs Will's hand  as the werewolf shakes with fear and anger.

Mike maneuvers around the trees back towards the same way to Hawkins until he noticed they were relatively close to where they were on the road.

He then unbuckled his seat belt, gets out of the car and into Will's side, un buckling the panicking, sobbing brunette and holding him in his arms once he closes the door.

"Shh, it's okay...  it's okay... you're safe."  Mike whispers softly as he runs ine hand up and down Wills back, another onto of the werewolf's head, gently massaging it as Will let's out his emotions.

"I-I know but-  Mom and Jonathan... *hic*  where are they?!"  He sobs more as Mike kisses Will softly on his head.

He then tilts Wills chin giving him the best smile he could.

"We can only figure that out tomorrow, its late Will.  Get some sleep."  Mike states as he reaches behind the seat finding his backpack and pulling out a thin blanket to cover them both.

Will tries to calm down, his shaky breath the only thing they could hear before they both fall into a light sleep.

Damn that all happened in a solid day...  things are gonna go down ✌
