Chapter 53

"Min Appa!" Min Jun greets happily, a smile on his face as he jumps onto his favourite Appa.

"Oh Min Junnie," Jimin calls out, eyes in crescents as Ji Woo greets the other Appas.

"Oh Ji Wooie," Dae Jun calls out before passing a huge bouquet of flowers. "Taehun hyung told me to pass it to you. He said you'll know what he meant."

She takes it and smiles as she remembers when she was in coma and Taehun spoke to her.

Because I wanted you to remember baby breath as a happy thing from now on, not a sad thing because flowers are meant to cheer you up. I hope one day when people ask you what is your favourite flower, I want you to reply, baby breath because it doesn't just hold happiness but everything in between. Sadness, anger, disappointment, every single emotion.

She puts the flowers at the side before pulling on Yibo's hand towards her Appas. "Oh Yibo," Seokjin calls him and the maknae of UNIQ bows. "How have you been?"

The rest of the Bangtan boys started to mingle with UNIQ while Su Bin and Dae Jun decided not to socialize for the moment. They decided to make it official and give relationship a try. "Dae Jun..." she whispers and he looks at her curiously. "I don't want to stay here anymore."

"With Bangtan hyungs?" Dae Jun asks, confused and she nods. "Wae?"

"I don't want to bother them anymore. I know he will return..." she replies and Dae Jun nods, having learn bits and pieces of her story but knows who he is. "I don't want them to get attacked. If I disappear, he will disappear with me because he's aiming me."

"Just think about it alright? Promise me," Daejun mutters and she nods, leaning on his shoulder to enjoy the short moment of just being the two of them till Jungkook started to tease about the love birds and they started to greet the UNIQ members.

Su Bin looks up to the dark sky, partially seeing the moon and smiles slightly. She then feels someone's presence and she looks over to see Yibo who makes eye contact with her. "Hi," he greets in Chinese, smiling slightly.

"What are you doing out here?" she asks, diverting her gaze back to the scenery in front of her.

"We're leaving soon. I decided to come out to talk to you," he replies and all she does was nod. "I wonder if you could reply a question for me."

"Question?" she asks, wondering what kind of question it would be.

"How is it that the twins are so mature for their age?" he asks, knowing that he sounds stupid but he was really curious.

She smiles slightly before replying, "The twins... have been through a lot I guess. I'm pretty sure you know our story... We were taken in from the streets. Not a lot of people go through living on the streets and surviving."

"I know for a fact that you took care of them, that's why they lived. But why would you do that?" the maknae of UNIQ wonders. 

"They were like my siblings. Too precious to just leave them alone. So I decided to live on the streets with them. Take care of them and make sure they wouldn't die," she replies, smiling slightly.

Yibo doesn't say anything as thoughts and questions went through his mind. He wanted to know more. "Don't you have a family? Wouldn't you want to stay with them instead of ending up on the streets?" he asks and she sighs, knowing that one day someone will overstep their boundaries and ask her about her past life.

The Luoyang boy expected to be yelled at which will gain the attention of his own group and BTS before being to asked to leave the dorm and on the way home, Yi Xuan would be scolding him for asking sensitive questions and scold him about how he should have known. But how would he know? After all, he started training at thirteen.

She just looks at him and said, "Not everyone wants to stay with their family. Everyone knows the phrase, 'Blood is thicker than water' but no one knows the full phrase which is 'The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water in the womb.' This means that relationships formed by choice are stronger than those formed by birth. All those stupid crap you hear about family being first, it all depends on the person themselves. People like me, don't put family first but friends. That was way back then..."

She stops before looking back through the glass door to see BTS, Dae Jun and the twins laughing while Sungjoo and Seungyoun were reenacting something. "But it changed for me once I met them... They became my family and I'm happy now. I can safely say that I put family over friends now. Because they are my family," she replies a smile of gratefulness gracing her lips which made something in Yibo tug, something familiar that he felt when he was younger too. 

He looks at his hyungs in UNIQ, eyes trailing over each and every one of the member. Yi Xuan, mother of the group, even though he nagged too much and was too slow but Yibo knew when he needed comfort, he just needed to seek in the oldest and Yi Xuan will put everything down to comfort him. Like that time when the leader had returned in the middle of the night after filming from China, he was pretty tired from the hectic schedule in China but the moment he saw Yibo silently sobbing, he just hugged him tightly and comforted him. He stayed with him till morning and Yibo felt so guilty the next day he made ramen to repay the oldest and even though it wasn't that nice, Yi Xuan ate it up with a smile on his face and complimented that it was the best ramen he ever tasted.

Sungjoo, the pillar of the group, someone he used to be awkward with but now, they're inseparable. He was his best partner when gaming since they both didn't need to communicate to understand each other's actions which sometimes freaked the other members out since when they were on the same team, they never talked but just made eye contact and dominates the other team. Many people say that Wenhan is the dad of the group but he felt that Sungjoo was more like the dad of the group. From the awkwardness to the silent understanding was like a father and son bond. He was happy that Sungjoo seek help in him for Chinese instead of Yi Xuan.

Wenhan, the oldest brother in the group. He was very shy at first and kept to himself which made Yibo wonder about his personality. He guess it was some twisted fate that the both of them were the first trainees to enter UNIQ because now, Wenhan understands when the youngest is moody and doesn't want to talk, he would deter everyone away from him to allow Yibo to have his own time. He was grateful but as the four years passed by, he grew into a man who didn't know how to express his feeling so he usually make it up by playing basketball with him and swimming with him whenever Wenhan needed a confidence boost that he was good at something. When Wenhan starts dieting, he tries to follow but usually fails because he couldn't stand the diets the older has. But he gyms with the other to show his support.

Finally, Seungyoun, his partner-in-crime. The Leo people in UNIQ. He didn't need to feel embarrassed in front of the older because the Korean get rids of the tension easily. He remember when he first met Seungyoun, he had fell and hit his head at the corner of the table. He was trying so hard not to cry and was afraid someone would walk in to see him crying. Seungyoun fell to the ground dramatically, earning everyone's attention and made it look like Yibo was laughing at him instead of him being hurt. Ever since then, he knew that they could the most stupidest things together and they would be scolded by Yi Xuan together. Even though he was the last to join UNIQ, Seungyoun brought a lot of joy to the group with his smile and reassurance to Yibo. Whenever Yi Xuan would scold Yibo when they just started as a group because Yibo was young and didn't know what was correct to do and what wasn't correct to do like when he was caught stealing a game he really wanted and Yi Xuan had to deal with it, Seungyoun protected him and explain that Yibo was still younger and without his parents by his side, he didn't know that he couldn't do that. He continues that Yibo was still young, there isn't any point in hitting him, it will be better if they explained to him that it was wrong. He ends with that Yibo just wants the game because he couldn't get it when he was with his family and being a young boy, he didn't know the concept of taking and stealing since he was used to his parents paying whatever he took. The next day, the group brought him to the game shop and brought it for him as a group, he was so touched that he almost cried.

Yibo looks back to Su Bin who was looking at him. "Do you understand?" she asks and he nods.

She smiles before looking back to the sky. "Thank you Su Bin," he says and she looks at him slightly before nodding.

"I'm happy you learn that your family doesn't always have to be the people who gave birth and raised you up. Since you entered UNIQ so young, I wouldn't be surprised that you formed your own family within them," the blue-haired girl says, smiling and he smiles back slightly like a small kid, discovering something. "They're good people, don't do anything stupid Yibo Ge. I don't think they will like it if anything happened to you because from what I see, they protect you really well."

Yibo looks at his hyungs once again. "I'll keep that in mind Su Bin," he replies as Seungyoun makes eye contact with him and sends him a bright smile.
