Savior | Chapter Thirty-Three
07:26, 18 February 2021Londyn's P.o.V. -
When I woke up the next morning, there was multiple missed calls and messages from George, Bad, Skeppy, Karl, Sapnap, Tommy, Wilbur, Niki, Tubbo and even Techno, Quackity, Ant and Eret. Word of what happened, must of spread fast.
I put my phone on 'do not disturb' and went to my bathroom. I looked in the mirror, my eyes were red and puffy, my hair was a disaster. I practically looked dead.
I sighed, running hands through my hair and started shower. I felt like crying but I cried all my tears last night so I just stood there, feeling like my heart shattered in a million pieces.
After I showered, I put on a pair of sweatpants and Tommy's hoodie. I tied my hair in a lazy ponytail, going into my kitchen. I fed Pumpkin -who wouldn't leave my side, sensing something was wrong- then made a cup of coffee. It was four pm, I had to go my grandmother's retirement home soon and get her things then talk to her lawyer.
I'm not even eighteen yet, what am I supposed to do?
I'm going to lose my house and go back to my emotionally and mentally abusive family. I just got away from them two years ago, my mental health wasn't great but it was getting better -especially because of the trip to England and everyone on the server- then this happened. And I have to plan her funeral.
Why me? What did I do?
I sighed, putting my hand on my folded arms. Pumpkin jumped on the kitchen island, rubbing his face against my arms, meowing. I looked up, Pumpkin licked my nose.
"Your breath stinks bud." I said, scrunching my nose as I moved my head away from Pumpkin, petting his head softly.
My doorbell rang.
I stood up, Pumpkin following behind me and walked over.
As soon as I opened the door, I was pulled into a bone-crushing hug.
"Thank god you're okay." Dream said.
"How did you find my address?" I asked, pulling away from the hug.
"Texted your friend from college that was pet sitting Pumpkin. You scared the shit out of me, so obviously I drove up here." Dream responded, shutting the door and putting his suitcase in the living room.
"That's almost a sixteen hour drive."
"It doesn't matter. I needed to make sure you're okay." Dream said, pulling me into another hug.
"And what about covid?"
"Who cares right now. We're all worried about you." Dream responded, pulling away from the hug.
I looked at the ground. The last thing I wanted was everyone worrying about me.
"But I'm here and we're going to figure everything out. The worst thing that could happen is that I end up in prison for beating the shit out of your parents."
My eyes filled with tears again, I hugged Dream, burying my head in his chest. Again, Dream knew everything that has happened to me after he called me and I was having a panic attack.
"Thank you." I sniffled. "For being here."
"You don't have to thank me, Londyn. Have you eaten today?" Dream asked. I pulled away from the hug, shaking my head. "I'll order food, okay? Then we can watch Criminal Minds."
I nodded, wiping my eyes. "I have to go get her things from the retirement home. And talk to her lawyer about her will but I'm not eighteen so I need my parents to be there."
Dream face softened, "That's okay. We'll figure it out. And if you want, I'll be there with you. Or you could just call whenever, okay?"
I nodded, smiling. "Thank you."
Dream smiled at me then went to my kitchen. I sat down on my couch, pulling my blanket back on me. Pumpkin curled himself in my lap, watching Dream cautiously.
"Pumpkin, it's okay. He's not going to hurt us." I whispered as I petted Pumpkin, turning Criminal Minds back on.
After we ate, Dream and I got in his car, I told him where to go to get to the retirement home. When we got there, we put our masks on and walked inside. I wrapped my arms around my stomach, thinking of England as we walked in so I wouldn't cry in front of everyone.
"Aw, hello Londyn. I'm so sorry for your lost." Mrs. Evelyn, one of the workers said as I walked in.
I gave her a small smile then signed in then walked to my grandmother's room, Dream following behind me. Everything was packed in boxes already, all I do to was take them home. I grabbed one box, telling Dream the he could grab the other.
"She's the reason I got into reading." I said as Dream and I started walking out to his car to put the first two boxes away. "She always told me I was her favorite."
"Londyn, sweetie. There you are!" My grandmother said as we walked into her house, holding her arms out for me. I ran over to her, hugging her tightly as she wrapped her arms around me. I felt safe around her.
"Move out of the way Londyn!" My older sister said and shoved me to floor, holding her hand out to my grandmother for money, my younger sister doing the same.
My grandmother glared at my father. I stood up, brushing my pants off.
"How about you two go play outside with your dad?" My grandmother said to my sisters.
They both nodded and ran outside, dragging my father with them.
"Londyn, are you alright?" My grandmother asked.
I nodded, giving her a thumbs up. My grandmother smiled at me and grabbed my head. "Come with me, I have something to show you."
I followed behind her, she took my to the room that was normally locked. Inside the walls were lined with bookshelves, filled with books and a couch by the window.
"Whoa." I whispered, running over one of the bookshelves, reading the names of the books. While my grandmother shut the door.
"I knew you would like this." My grandmother said, grabbing a book then sat down on the couch, patting the spot next to her.
I sat down next to her, she handed me the book. "This is one of my favorites." She said as I opened the book.
I started reading it outloud, my grandmother listening in. I was only six, reading a book that was for adults, rarely messing up a word.
"Londyn?" Dream said, popping his truck.
I shook my head, "Sorry. I just remembered something."
Dream nodded and put the boxes in. We went back inside and repeated the process.
"Londyn, I know life's got you down but you need to stand back up and just tell it "You punch like a bitch"." My grandmother said.
I wiped my eyes, sniffling. "But-"
"No buts. Life is going to have its ups and downs, we all go through it. The only difference is how we deal with them." My grandmother said softly, holding my hand.
I nodded, holding my head up high and walked into the classroom with her.
It was my first day of high school when I was ten. Beforehand, my siblings were laughing in my face, my parents telling me I was too smart and it was going to be my downfall.
I put the second set of boxes in the truck.
I finished my speech, looking around the crowd. They all stood up, clapping. I found my grandmother who was clapping the loudest, telling everyone "That's my granddaughter!"
I was twelve, had just finish my speech at graduation.
I grabbed the third set of boxes, walking out of the room with Dream.
"Londyn there you are! I thought you were too busy with that boy to come visit me!" My grandmother said jokingly as I walked into her room.
"Sorry." I said, sitting down on the edge of her bed. "How are you doing?"
"Don't worry about me, Sweetie. You know my friends from the book club? Their great grandkids watch your streams, they were talking about you yesterday. And that boy, what's his name again?"
"Tommy."
"Tommy seems like such a sweetheart. So does Tubbo. And George, he's really pretty." My grandmother said.
I laughed, "Nana!"
"What? I'm not lying."
"One time when I went to visit her, she told me that George was 'really pretty'." I said to Dream.
Dream wheezed, "Really? Did she ever say anything about me?"
"One time she said you should go to a doctor, your wheeze was worrying her. Then the other time she said that your voice was nice." I responded, laughing softly. "She was obsessed with Sapnap and Karl though, constantly saying 'I need to meet those two uncles of your's' and she loved Bad and Skeppy. Sometimes she say 'I think Bad just needs to say fuck, just once.'."
We both laughed, grabbing the last boxes.
"I'm really going to miss her." I said, sniffling as we walked out.
"Hey, from what you've told me, she wouldn't want you crying right now." Dream said, pulling me into a one arm hug.
I laughed softly, "She always told me to say 'You punch like a bitch' when life threw something at me."
Dream laughed again, "Life does punch like a bitch though."
I laughed softly, wiping my eyes.
We signed out, the people in my grandmother's book club saying their goodbye and wishing me the best before we left.
"I have to call her lawyer and get everything scheduled. Then plan the funeral." I said.
"I know. It's okay, nothing needs to be done right now. Let's just go home and relax okay?" Dream said.
I nodded.
Dream's P.o.V. -
Londyn fell asleep almost instantly when we got home, Pumpkin was curled up beside her. I cleaned up everything then sat down at the kitchen island.
Then Tommy called me.
"Hello?" I said quietly as I answered the call.
"How is she doing? What happened? Is she okay? She isn't answering me or Tubbo or Wilbur or NIki or Eret or-"
I cut him off, "Tommy calm down. She's doing... better. I'm sure she'll tell you when she's ready. She's going through a lot right now."
"I know and I need to be there for her. Not just talking to her through the phone." I could tell he'd been crying.
"Tommy-"
"I feel so helpless right now. I should be there helping her through this." Tommy said softly.
"Just give her time. If it helps, she's in your hoodie and we were just watching your newest video." I responded.
"Oh."
"I have to go Tommy."
"Okay. Just check in with me and tell me how's she's doing or I will spam you."
I laughed softly, "I will."
"You better. Bye Dream."
"Bye Tommy."
I hung up and ran my hands through my hair.
Life isn't punching like a bitch, life is being a bitch.
