Chapter 45
01:46, 18 March 2014I woke up to the sound of the front door closing, I sat up and quickly reached for my clothes. I threw my shirt on and shorts, I hid my underwear under the blankets and covered Cody before getting up. "You're up early." Trey greeted me as I walked into the kitchen.
"Uh, we slept downstairs." I smiled. "Who's we?" "Who do you think?" "Oh right, actually I need to go talk to him." "No!" I stopped him remembering Cody has no clothes on. "Woah, why not?" "I mean, he's sleeping so-" "Nope, I'm not." Cody walked into the room. I sighed with relief.
I think we pulled this one off. "How's Cara?" I sat on the counter. "She's good." Trey opened the fridge. "Just good?" Cody questioned. "Man, you have no idea. We need to talk, seriously." He answered, I gave them a weird look. "What?" "Don't worry." Cody dismissed.
"Can you cook us some food?" Cody asked, I shook my head. "Pease?!" "Trey, you're supposed to be looking after me!" "I don't care, you're perfectly fine to look after yourself. Now make us food." He lifted me off the counter. "I'll do this while Cody can tell you what he did yesterday." I smiled at him.
Cody shot me a glare, I smiled innocently. "What did you do?" "We built a fort." He tried to save himself. "No, I didn't mean that." "What did you mean then?" He played dumb. "Trey, take a look at Cody's hands." He did as I said and then looked at him confused.
"He was taking advantage of your sister, you would of done the exact same." He explained. "Who's he?" "Cameron." "What was he doing?" I listened to them talking as I cooked. "He madde her kiss him and he was touching he-" "He what?!" Trey raised his voice.
"Where did he put his hands on you?" Trey spun me to face him, I sent Cody a glare. He mouthed 'sorry' I sighed. "He didn't." I folded my arms. "Don't lie to me Lauren!" "Calm the hell down!" I raised my voice. "You don't have to get pumped up about everything, do you not think that's why I don't tell you things?!" I pushed past him.
Trey caught my wrist and spun me back around. "What did he do to you?" "Nothing." "I'll tell dad." "Oh no, I'm so scared." I pretended to be frightended. "Fine, I'm sure the police will wanna know what he did though." "For god sake, Trey! You blow everything out of proportion! Just leave me alone!" I shouted and left the room.
I quickly got ready for the day, I gotta get out of here and away from Trey. Cody came in while I was putting on my smellies. "He has every right to think what he's thinking right now, he doesn't know what happened. You're his baby sister and he's just trying to protect you." He tried to reason with me.
"I don't care, he's always over the top about everything." "Don't you get it? He doesn't know what happened, Lauren, so of course he's going to be the way he is." "Who's side are you on?" I put my hands on my hips. "I'm not picking sides, I'm telling you how it is."
"I don't want to hear it." I waved him away. "Laur-" "I don't care for what you have to say, just leave me alone Cody." I pushed him to the side and walked downstairs. "Where the hell do you think you're going?" Trey came out of the kitchen.
"Away from you two." I said before slamming the front door and walking down the street. I have no idea where I was going I just had to get away. After a while I came to where the haunted house is, I decided to go inside it. My phone went off too many times for me to count but I don't care.
"You can't hide in my hiding place and expect not to get found." I heard Cody's voice. "Go away." "Talk to me." "Go away." I repeated. "Talk to me." "Go awa-" "Lauren." I turned around on the stool which I was sat on. Cody walked around so he could see me again.
I tried to turn back around but he caught my legs. "Talk to me?" He said in a softer, quieter tone. I avoided his eyes but he held my chin so I had to look into his eyes. "What's going on up here?" He tapped my forehead gently.
"I'm scared." I confessed after a few seconds of silence. "What are you scared of?" "Why can't I trust anyone, Cody? Two of my friends have tried to do things with me and if you weren't there both times who knows what would of happened?" "But I was there and I always will be there to save you."
"What if you're not? What if you weren't there yesterday? What if you trusted Cameron and he did that? He could of.. He could of raped me." I started to cry, Cody pulled me up off he seat and hugged me tightly. "I was there, baby. I knew what his intentions were from the second I met him, he had no respect for you at all. I saw the way he looked at you and the way he looked at your body, it was all he wanted so I knew I couldn't leave my girl with him. I knew what was going to happen." He rubbed my back.
"I don't want to see him tomorrow, I never want to see him again." "You'll have Dan, he'll stay by your side. I promise you he'll keep you safe." "How do you know?" "I just do." "I don't want to see Trey either." I looked up at him.
"Come on, let's get out of here." "No, I don't want to see him." I stayed put, Cody pulled on my hand slightly. I refused to move. "Let's go. Come on." He pulled harder, I stayed. "Lauren, you're going to have to see him at some point now let's go." I shook my head.
"You said you'd keep me safe." "Your brother is one of the safest people for you." "No, I don't feel safe with him." Cody sighed, he walked over and flung me over his shoulder. "Cody! Put me down!" I screamed at him, he ignored me.
"Alright, get in the car." I shook my head as I stood before the door. "I'm going to walk home." "Get in the car!" "Don't raise your voice at me." I started to walk away. "Lauren, please." He begged, as if he'd given up. I turned to face him and slowly walked backwards.
"You know you're about to walk across the road without looking?" He walked towards me, I started walking faster still without looking. "Lauren, don't take another step!" He said, I ignored him. "Lauren! I'm serious, stop!" I smirked and took another step.
Cody grabbed my arm and pulled me off the road. My body hit his, he wrapped his arms around me quickly as as a car zoomed past. "Next time, listen to me." He released me and walked to the car. "Now get in the car." I did as I was told.
Neither of us said anything on the way back, we walked into the house still without a word. "Where was she?" Trey asked. "Tell your sister she needs to listen." Cody walked into the kitchen, he's mad. Oops. "What?" "She nearly got hit by a car." "No I didn't." I rolled my eyes and walked upstairs.
My bed had been made and all the blankets were put away. I smiled to myself, my phone started ringing. "Hey there, Miss Simpson." I put my phone on speaker and put it on the bed. "Miss Miller, hello." Alli replied. "Did you do what I asked?" "Yes, you have a meeting tomorrow at five." "Okay, thanks."
"What are you going to wear?" "I don't know, I know I need to impress them but not make it look like I tried too hard." "Want me to come over and help choose an outit?" "Yes please, I need your help." "Is Cody there?" "Yeah but don't tell him about it, I don't need him to know yet."
"Alright, I'll be over in a few minutes." "Bye, Alls." "Bye!" She hung up, I smiled and walked over to my closet. "Meeting for what?" Cody walked into the room. "It's not nice to listen to other people conversations." "And when will you tell me about it?" I ignored him.
"How about now?" He pulled my hips into his. "What are you keeping from me?" He was being really intimidating and I know he knows it. "Do you think pants or skirt look best on me?" I broke free from his grip. "Depends." "On what?" I turned to look at him.
"If you're going to tell me where you're going." He layed down on the bed. "Did you put all the blankets back and make my bed." "Yup." "Thanks." "So, pants or skirt?" "I really couldn't care less until you tell me." "Charming." I said sarcastically.
"Are you gonna tell me?" "Nope, I don't need your opinion. I have Alli." I smiled sweetly and walked into the closet, Cody followed me. "Get out." "You wanted my opinion." "Not anymore." "What is it with you? One minute you love me the next you hate me. Damn." He turned around and left.
Alli came into my bedroom, I joined her. "What's up with him?" She asked. "He's being annoying." "Oh, makes sense." She shrugged, I agreed. "Now, down to bussiness." She got up and put some music on. We put all my clothes on my bed and I tried different outfits on.
After about two hours of messing around and trying on outfits we had three final ones, we just needed a male opinion on them so we went to find Cody. "Trey, where's Cody?" I asked. "He went to the studio, didn't he say goodbye?" "No." I looked at Alli confused.
"That's weird." She said, Trey laughed. "What?" We asked at the same time. "You know when he does things that annoy you and you don't want to be around him?" I nodded, still confused. "It works both ways and he doesn't want to be with you at the moment." He shrugged.
"Isn't he lovely." I rolled my eyes and we walked back upstairs. "Do you think he'll come over tonight?" I asked. "Probaby, he hates sleeping alone." "Does he?" "Yeah, whenever you guys sleep apart he always moans about it." I laughed at her.
"Do you like sleeping with him or alone?" "Well I like both, I like to have to whole bed to just me but then I like to cuddle him and he makes me feels safe and keeps me warm but sometimes he's annoying because he's a horny teenager." Alli laughed at the last bit.
"It's true!" I laughed. "And I bet you hate that." She said sarcastically. "Well, it's alright sometimes." I winked at her she made a weird face. "Ew! That's my brother!" She laughed, I did too. "You asked me." I wiggled my butt, Alli slapped it.
"Ouch!" I rubbed where she hit me. "It was too irrisistible." She held her hands up in surrender. "You Simpsons are mean." I pouted. My phone started ringing, Alli answered it. "May we help you?.. I'm sorry no, she doesn't like you anymore... She told me... She doesn't want to see you tonight." Alli smirked at me while she was on the phone.
I put my hands on my hips and listened to her. "No, she doesn't like you and that's why I'm talking to you and not her... Sorry... She might never want to see you again." "Alli!" I shouted at her, she laughed and got up. "No you can't come over after work." "Alli!" I laughed and tried to get the phone off her.
"She wants nothing to do with you anymore... Yup, you ruined it." "Alli, you're evil!" I laughed as I took the phone off her and pressed it up to my ear. "What did I do?" A hurt and worried Cody asked me through the phone, I walked into the bathroom. "Nothing, she was just messing around." "Are you sure?" "Yes." I paused.
"Oh, Cody, I need your opinion on something." "What is it?" "I'll show you later. Are you sleeping here?" "Do you want me to?" "Yes and please don't be late home." "I'll try finish up so I'll be at yours around nine." "That's late." I moaned. "It's the earliest I can do." "Ugh fine." "Don't get annoyed, I'm trying." "I know, I'm sorry. Do you want me to make you dinner?"
"Uh, whatever, I don't mind." "Cod-" "I gotta go, bye." He hung up before I could answer him. I rolled my eyes and walked back into my bedroom. "Mom just called, she wants me to go home now. Is that alright?" Alli asked, I nodded.
"Get Trey to drive you, it's dark outside." "It's only a ten minute walk." "Trey!?" I shouted, Alli laughed. "Yeah?" He answered. "If you take Alli home I'll cook dinner!" "Done!" He shouted up the stairs. "Thanks." "Thank you for your help." I hugged her and then we both went downstairs.
After Trey and I had eaten dinner I put Cody's in the fridge and went to have a shower. I dried my hair and changed into a tank and sweat shorts and then went onto my balcony for some fresh air. "This is so good, baby." I heard Cody's voice.
I turned around to see him stood in my doorway with a plate of food. "You like it then?" "Mmm." He shoved another load in his mouth. I laughed at him. "Slow down, no one's going to take it from you." "I aint risking it." "Dork." I laughed.
"Hey, what did you wanna show me?" Cody put his hands over mine on the railings and rested his chin on my head. "Some outfits, I need you to tell me which one looks best." "Alright then, go get changed." He turned me around and pushed me into the bedroom.
I changed into the first outfit: dark blue, high waisted skinny jeans with a white shirt. The shirt had a collar and three quarter length sleeves as well as simple, black stilettos. "Cody?" I called him, he walked into the bedroom and closed the doors.
He looked me up and down a few times. "Spin around?" I did as I was told, Cody nodded. "I like this one." "Okay, two seconds." I went into my closet and changed into the second outfit: black skinny jeans as well as a simple white T-shirt. A gray blazer and nude heels.
"I like this one too." Cody admired me, I stood still as he walked around me. "Okay, next one?" I asked after a few seconds. "Why so quick?" "Because I wanna get into bed." "Fine, go." He sat on my desk as I went to change.
The third outfit was a tight, black dress which was sleevless. It didn't show any of my chest and came to just above my knee, I had the same stilettos as the first outfit. I walked back into my bedroom and spun around. Cody's jaw dropped.
"Wo..Wow." He stood up and walked towards me. "This is amazing." He spun me around and then held his hands on my waist. "I really really like this one." Cody whispered in a deep voice, it sent shivers down my spine. "But I think you should wear it out to dinner with me instead." He added.
"Which one do I wear then?" "I'm not sure." He pushed me back onto my desk. He pulled my legs so my body was touching his. I wrapped my arms around his neck and legs around his waist. Cody thumbs rubbed my thighs gently as he pressed his lips against mine.
"I know I shouldn't interrupt but you can't blame me this time." I heard Trey, I moved away from Cody and pushed him backwards with my feet. "You left the door open." He told me. "What do you want?" "I'm going to see Cara." "All night?" Cody asked.
"She's got school tomorrow so I want no funny bussiness." He pointed at Cody. "Will you be here?" "Cody, I'm warning you." "Fine, fine." "Bye, Trey." I smiled at him, he closed the door. "You're greedy." I tapped Cody's nose and went to change back into my pyjamas.
"What's that supposed to mean?" "You think you can just come here from work and get what you want and then leave again tomorrow and then do it again." I walked out of the closet. "Is that what you really think?" "Sometimes." I shrugged and got into bed.
"It's not like that at all." Cody turned all the lights off and put my fairy lights on. "What's it like then?" "I love you and the things we do are just an added luxury." He kissed my lips and then got into bed. "An added luxury?" "Yup." "So if I said no more sex, you'd be okay with that?"
"I love you, Lauren." "Okay then, let's see how long you last." Cody sat up, I did too. "I bet you'll break before I do." He smirked. "I don't think that's true." "Just wait and see." "Alright but no teasing, that makes it unfair." "What do you mean by that?" Cody took off his shirt and we layed down again.
"Like you can't kiss my neck and touch my thighs and do all that because that's not fair." I rested my head on his shoulder and my hand on his chest. "That's no fun." "It's not happening." "Same goes for you then, no making me jealous or playing the many games you play to make me want you." I laughed at him.
"I'm being serious." "Game on." I held up my hand for him to shake it. He did so. "Now, I'm going to sleep because I'm tired." I rolled over onto my side, Cody wrapped his arms around me and held me against his body. "Night, baby." He kissed my shoulder. "Good night."
