Chapter 6

"Have you seen Lauren?" I heard someone say, I slowly opened my eyes. "Nope." I heard Cody say. "I can't find her, she wasn't in the room when I woke up and she's not outside and everyone esle said they haven't seen her." I heard Alli's voice.

"Don't worry, I'm sure she's here somewhere." "But where?" "I don't know, I haven't seen her since last night." "Can I check your room?" "Why in hell would she be in my room?" "I was just asking, there's no need to get so defencive."

I watched as the door opened, I quickly pretended to be asleep. I felt the bed move as Cody sat beside me, he moved my hair behind my ear and kissed my cheek. "Lauren.. Lauren, wake up." He whispered as he lightly shook me.

"Hmm?" I hummed as I preteneded to wake up, I opened my eyes and looked at him. "Morning beautiful." Cody leaned down and kissed my lips. "You need to get up baby, everyone's looking for you." I stretched and then kicked the blankets off me.

"I'm tired." I moaned. "Come on." Cody picked me up bridal style and carried me outside. "I found her." He said as he set me down on the wood. "Where was she?" "I found her in the living room." "Where were you, sweetie?" Angie asked as I sat down next to her.

"I woke up early and went for a walk, I just got back." I lied. "Where did you go?" My dad asked, I looked at him. "Um, just to the beach." "I went to the beach this morning, how come I didn't see you?" He tested me.

I looked at Cody. "Hey, didn't you say you went round the corner a bit more?" Cody helped me. "How do you know that?" My dad asked with a smirk on his face, what did he know? "I told him just now." "Yeah." Cody agreed.

I got up and made myself some cereal. "Cody? Can I talk to you?" My dad asked. I looked at Cody confused, he shrugged at me and then followed my dad into his and mom's hut.

"What did dad want?" I asked as I went and sat on the sunbed next to Cody. "He heard us talking last night and he knows." Cody told me without looking at me. "Knows what?" "Everything, we watched me walk over to you and sit down with you."

"Well that's okay though, isn't it?" "Hmm." "What?" "Nothing." He turned and smiled at me. "I told him to keep quiet." Cody said as I walked away. "Keep quiet about what?" Lilly asked as she ran over and sat with Cody.

"About how cute you are." He said as he started to tickle her, she giggled and screamed at him as she tried to get him to stop. I laughed as I watched them playing. "Cody! Can we go in the water?" Lilly asked.

"I bet I can make a bigger splash than you can." Cody tested her. "No, I can!" Lilly told him as she ran and jumped off of the platform. "Oh joy." Cody laughed as he got up, I laughed at him. "Take me on the jet!" Lilly shouted as she swam over to it.

"How long do we have those jets for?" I asked my mom as I sat inbetween Angie and Brad. "The rest of the time we're here." "Oh cool." "So Lauren, where do you and my boy keep jetting off to?" Angie asked me.

"Oh it's this really cool rock, it's like half way around the island and it's really cool." I smiled. "Is that were we found you the other day?" Brad asked. "Yeah, it was cool wasn't it?" "It's a rock, Lauren. it's not that cool." "No but it is because it's really big and it's fun to jump off of."

"And you get to be alone with Cody." My dad winked at me. "Yeah, how come you guys suddenly like each other?" My mom asked. "I told you, he appologised for being a jerk and then like we just started to get along."

"Really get along." Trey teased as he walked past. My mom and Angie laughed, Brad looked around confused. "What am I missing here?" He asked. "They kissed." Trey told him. "They what?!" Tom and Alli shouted.

"Thank you for that!" I said sarcastically. "How do you guys know that?" My dad asked. "We found them kissing the other day, when they went to the aqua splash." "Oh.." He asnwered.

I was watching tv inside when I saw Cody and Alli walk into Cody's room, they didn't see me. They started to talk and I overheard them. "Why didn't you tell me you and Lauren kissed?" Alli asked. "I don't know."

"Are you going to ask her out?" "No!" Cody defended. "Why not?" "It was just one kiss, one time. It's no big deal." "You guys would be so good together though!" "It would never work, Alli." "Why?!" "She's too messed up! She's broken, she needs to sort out her head before she dates anyone!"

I felt my heart sink, I can't believe he just said that. I got up and walked outside, I felt tears stream down my face as I ran and jumped into the water. "Where are you going?" Trey asked me. "Don't come after me, no one!" I told them as I climbed onto a jet ski.

I went to the big rock and climbed up to the top. I sat there for a while and let my tears fall freely, I kept repeating what Cody had said over and over in my head. I layed down on my back and sniffed, I tried to stop myself from crying.

"Lauren?!" I heard Cody say. "Go away." "Why? What's happened?" He asked as he sat down next to me and stroked my hair, I stood up. "No! Don't touch me!" "What did I do?" He asked as he got up.

"I don't know if you've heard Cody, but I'm messed up! I'm broken!" I shouted, Cody's face dropped. "No, baby you don't understand. I didn't mean that! I was just trying to get Alli off my back." "Don't call me baby! I can't believe I trusted you!"

"No, Lauren. Please, I didn't mean it!" He stepped closer to me. "Get away from me, Cody! It's finished, I was caught in the moment. I'm done." I tried to walk away but Cody caught my wrist and pulled me back.

"I'm not done!" "Let go of me." "Let me finish." I sighed and tood still, Cody let go. "What did you want me to say to her? Yeah, she's lovely but we're not together? No! She wouldn't believe that for two seconds so I said that, I realise it hurt you but I didn't mean it at all." He said softly and steps closer to me.

"You should of thought of that." I told him as I steps backwards. "I was just trying to get Alli off my back." "You've done it, she won't bother you about it now." I walked towards where you climb up the rock.

"I'm not leaving here without you." "Well then I guess you're not leaving here." "Lauren Miller, you take one more step and I swea-" "You swear what? There's nothing you can threaten me with, Cody." I told him and then ran and jumped off the rock.

As I climbed onto the jet I heard a splash, I watched as Cody resurfaced and then I started the jet and went back to the huts. "Hey guys!" I smiled as I climbed up the ladder.

"Hey sweetie." Angie smiled. "Where are you going?" "We're going shopping for groceries." "All of you?" "Yeah, you coming?" My dad asked. "No, I'll wait here. How long will you be?" "Few hours, we might look around different shops too." "Okay."

"Hey Lauren, have you seen Cody?" Brad asked me as I sat on a sunbed. "Nope." "Oh, he said he was going to go and look for you." "He didn't find me." "Okay, well see you later." "Bye!" I layed down and relaxed in the sun.

I felt water splash me. "You could not." I said as I sat up and opened my eyes. "You could not walk away from me." "Technically I jumped away from you." "Laurrrren." Cody moaned as he sat down on the end of my sunbed.

"Whaaaat?" I copied him. "Please, just give me one more chance." "I gave you a chance." "I said one more." "Don't get smart with me, Mr." I tapped his nose, he cutely screwed his nose up. I giggled at him.

"Come on, baby." Cody whispered as he crawled up the sunbed and closer to me. "You hurt me, Cody." I told him. "I can make you forget about that." He whispered against my lips. I looked away from him.

"Kiss me." He whispered and then licked his lips. I couldn't resist him, I pulled his head down and connected our lips. Cody rested his body onto mine as he kissed me back, I giggled into the kiss because he was wet.

"Cody!" I giggled. "What?" He laughed. "You're all wet." "Yeah, water kinda does that to you." He told me and then kissed me again, I laughed into the kiss and then kissed him back.

"Oh my gosh!" I heard someone gasp, I pushed Cody upwards and he got up. "What's going on here?!" Brad asked us. "You said you'd be gone for hours!" I changed the subject. "We didn't want to leave you here for ages, we thought you'd get hungry."

"Anyway, what did we inturrupt?" "What's the time?" I asked. "Lauren, stop changing the subjuct!" My mom told me. I grabbed Cody's wrist and looked at his watch, 6pm. "It's not what it looks like." Cody stated.

Alli laughed and then put her hands on her hips. "It's exactly what it looks like, you were making out!" She said, I looked at Cody for what to say he leaned over and whispered in my ear. "Just give up." "You tell them." I told him.

"Why me?!" "Because you're a boy!" My dad cleared his throat, we both looked back at everyone. "We kind of.. Um, like we.." "We're dating." I told them, I waited for a reaction. "So no more fighting?" Lilly asked.

I shook my head, Lilly ran over and hugged Cody around his legs. Cody picked her up. "What?" "You're my brother!" She smiled at him. "Can everyone stop staring at me now?" I asked, they laughed at then carried on doing what they were doing.

I sat back down on the sunbed. "No, I'm not asking her to marry me!" I heard Cody laugh, I looked at him. "But then you would be my brother." Lilly stated. "Go play with Tommy." Cody told her as he set her on the ground and she ran off.

"Your sister is bossier than you!" He laughed as he sat down. "She had to learn it somewhere." I smiled. "Our plan didn't work then." I said as I looked at him. "That was your fault." "How was it my fault?!" "You kissed me." "Shut up!" I giggled.

"You did though!" "You told me to!" "I didn't make you do it." I laughed at him and got off my sunbed, I layed on his sunbed with him and cuddled into him. "Look, you can see the sun going down." Cody whispered and pointed to the ocean, it looked beautiful.

"That was so nice, thank you mommy!" I thanked as I put my plate on the side. "It's alright, sweetie." "I'm going to have a shower." I told everyone and walked off. I showered and then did the normal rutine of drying my hair and changing.

"How long have you been hiding it?" I heard Alli ask as I walked into the bedroom. "What?" "How long have you been together?" "Since today." "Seriously?" "no, since last night." I remembered. "He said you weren't this morning." "I know he did."

"Why did he lie?" "We weren't going to tell anyone but we couldn't think of what to say so we just told you." "Oh, I knew something was going on. My mom and your mom said they saw you kissing, your dad said he knew about it and Trey said you told him you kissed him." "Yeah I did."

There was a knock at the door and then Cody appeared. "Which Ben and Jerry's ice-cream do you prefer, Chocolate Fudge Brownie or Cookie Dough?" "Why?" I asked. "Just answer the question." "The first one you said." He nodded and left.

I looked at Alli confused and then followed him. "Why did you want to know that?" I asked. "Go into my room." "Just tell me." "Do I seriously have to carry you in there everytime?" "Maybe." I put my hands on my hips.

Cody laughed at me and then picked me up and flung me over his shoulder. "Put me down! I can walk!" "You didn't give me much choice." He told me as he walked outside. "We're going to bed." Cody said to everyone.

"Not together." My dad told us. "Leave them, Steven. They're kids." My mom told him. "Codyyy." I moaned. "Put me down?" I asked. "Nope." He laughed and then carried me into his room. Cody threw me on his bed and then locked the door.

"Cody, no. Unlock it!" I told him, he sighed and unlocked it. "Why don't you like me locking it?" "Why do you want to lock it?" "Nevermind." I looked to the nightstand. "Ice-cream!" I exclaimed and grabbed it.

Cody put a movie into the tv and then sat on the bed, he picked up two spoons from the nightstand and handed me one and took the lid off. "What movie are we watching?" I asked. "Wild Child." "Oh my gosh! That's one of my favorites!" I happily said.

"I know." "How?" "Clever." Cody smiled as he put a spoonful of ice-cream in his mouth. "Tell me?" I asked as I did the same. "It was on your nightstand." "Oh right." Cody pressed play on the remote and we ate the ice-cream while we watched it.

"Are you sleepy?" Cody asked me, I sleepily lifted my head of his shoulder and slowly shook it. "Are you sure?" "Okay, maybe I'm a little sleepy." I giggled, Cody laughed at me. He placed his lips on my cheek.

"Ew, Cody!" I giggled as he left wet kisses all over my cheek, I playfully pushed him. "I like your cheeks." He laughed and kept doing it, I pushed him away as I slid down the bed. Cody followed me still doing it. "Go away!" I giggled.

"Give me a kiss then." "No, you made my cheeks all wet!" I wiped them. "Kiss my lips then." I thought about it. "No." I stuck my tongue out.

"Come here, you!" Coody threw me to the end of the bed where the pillows are and tickled me. "No! Cody! Stop! I'll kiss you!" "Nope, you have to want to kiss me." "I want to kiss you!" I told him. "I can't hear you!" Cody taunted.

"I WANT TO KISS YOU!" I shouted. "Want to kiss who?" He asked as he tickled me more, I screamed and then caught my breath. "I WANT TO KISS CODY!" "Cody?" "Simpson!" "Say it all?" "I want to kiss Cody Simpson!"

"What? I still can't hear you." "I WANT TO KISS CODY SIMPSON!" "Okay, Jees! No need to shout." Cody laughed. "I hate you." I stated as he kissed me, we both laughed through the kiss.

"it's bed time now." I told him and got back under the blankets. Cody did the same and pulled me close to him, I rested my head on his shoulder and my hand on his bare chest. "Your heart is beating really fast." I told him.

Cody just laughed slightly, it went silent for a while. "Your dad gave me a talk when you were in the shower." "About what?" "What do you think?" "He didn't?!" I sat up in shock. "Yeah, he told me that nothing's changed like he still likes me but if I hurt you or mess with you I will regret it." I layed back down again.

"Trey stepped in and added if we get up to anything, he'll make me regret that too." "I don't get that." "Why?" "Well, if I was a boy. They would be like 'go on, stick it in her' or something like that, but as I'm a girl they're like 'no, you can't go near boys'."

"Stick it in her?" Cody laughed at me, I laughed too. "Shut up! It was the first thing that came into my head." "You're a special one you, aren't you?" Cody squeezed me and kissed my head. I reached for his hand and played with his fingers while I slowly fell asleep.
