21. Silas
20:25, 23 February 2014Ava picked up her phone. She was desperate and was about to call Klaus when she heard a shadow move behind her. She turned but didn't see anything. It was night and very dark. The shadow was just another amongst shadows.
"Come out come out where ever you are," she sang and the shadow got before her. She got startled and moved a few steps back.
"Stefan?" she asked and looked carefully his face. He frowned his eyebrows and stepped out from the shadow.
"Why can't I get in to your head?" He asked. He took a hold of Ava's head. He tried to get through her head but she fought. She bit her lip, it hurt. She frowned her eyebrows when she fought. The man took her hands off of her head and stepped one step back.
"Cassia?" he asked.
"Stefan what are you talking about?" Ava asked and the man chuckled and raised his eyebrows.
"My name is Silas," he said and Ava got chills up her spine. She closed her eyes and it was like she woke up from a trance.
"Silas," she said and sighed relieved.
"Cassia Devrata. It has been a long time," Silas said and crossed his arms.
"So it has, Silas," she said and smiled widely.
Flashback
Cassia Devrata
"Silas we are not suppose to be here!" Cassia shouted to him and moved closer to the emerald green water. Silas was in the middle of the pond, few steps away from the water fall, he was waving to Cassia.
"Cassia, come here. I can feel the power of the water run through me!" he shouted and dived in to the water, head first. Cassia stepped few steps closer with a concerned look on her young face.
"Silas come out. It is not funny!" she shouted and glared to see if anyone was behind her. Silas had been underwater for an unhumanly time. Cassia took her sandals off and dived in to the water, to see if Silas was okay. When she hit the water she could feel a massive power emarging through her. She reached back up for air and noticed that Silas wasn't under water anymore. She moved the water with her hand in Silas' face.
"You tricked me!" she said and moved fastly towards him. Silas stopped her with his finger.
"Look," he said and closed his eyes. The water around him started to levitate, drop by drop. Cassia snickered and Silas opened his eyes.
"How did you do that?" Cassia asked with her eyes full off wonder.
"Menthor Caius taught me," Silas said and it made Cassia snort. She crossed her hands and it made Silas smile.
"Caius is not fair. He does not teach the same things."
"He is your father. You should not disrespect him," Silas said with a tough, but playful tone.
"And what are you going to do about it Silas? It is my sixteenth summer. I am almost a woman grown," Cassia reminded him and Silas nodded. He was on his seventeeth summer and had known Cassia for his whole life. They were best friends. Silas laughed to Cassia but got quiet in the minute he saw Qetsiyah approach.
"Shouldn't you be in the village?" Qetsiyah asked from them. She smiled to Silas but didn't even glance at Cassia. She nodded to Silas and walked away. Behind her came her handmaiden, Amarra. Cassia saw the looks Silas and Amarra chanched and she smiled.
"Yes Qetsiyah. Cassia and I will be right behind you," he yelled to them but shook his head to Cassia who grinned.
"We almost got caught to Qetsiyah. She would have went straight to Caius to tell him that we are using magic beyond his instructions," Cassia said and closed her eyes. She wanted to try the same thing that Silas had done. She let the power roam freely in her hands. She lifted them and the water rose with them. She opened her eyes and saw the water drops levitate. She giggled and let the water fall back to the pond.
"Did you see that?" Cassia asked and snickered. Silas nodded.
"We should leave," he said. Cassia nodded and squeezed the water out of her gold brown hair Silas grabbed her by the hand and led her out of the water. Silas shook his head to dry his light brown hair. Cassia's white dress was wet and so was Silas' clothing.
"Are you still to marry Qetsiyah?" Cassia asked studying Silas' face. He nodded.
"It is meant. We are the promises of our traveler community," he tried to explain.
"If my father would teach me I would be as powerful as Qetsiyah..."
"You are still too young," he said. Cassia shook her head.
"You were the same age when you began your training. He is afraid that I will become more powerful," Cassia said. Silas chuckled.
"You would be more powerful."
END OF FLASHBACK
"It's been a very long time Silas," a part of Ava said. She was aware of what was happening but she didn't feel like she was in control.
"How does this person look like you?" Silas asked his voice full of confusion. Ava chuckled.
"I am this person and this person is me. I am no doppelgänger, lucky me," she said.
"When Qetsiyah created the immortality spell she needed my help. She channeled me against my will, there was nothing I could do. She had an other witch on her side. But I was prepared," Ava smirked and tapped Silas on the shoulder.
"I created a spell that kept my soul alive through the centuries. When the Devrata and Petrova line once again united I was born."
"Why Cassia?"
"Why what Silas? I wanted to live and now I get to live. This is my body and I'm in control. My name is not Cassia anymore it's Angeline Petrova, but please call me Ava," Ava said and smirked. She raised her other eyebrow and tilted her head. She turned on her heels.
"And I suggest that you leave me alone," she said and left him there to stand. Silas stood in the middle of the road and Ava stopped.
"I will forget that this happened, but there will be a time that I let all my old memories in. And I have not forgotten anything. I am a vampire but I'm also so much more," she said and continued walking.

"Klaus?" Ava yelled through the white mansion. She heard no one and no one answered her. She heard movement behind her.
"Ava what are you doing here?" she saw Elijah on her side. She turned to him and smiled.
"Hello Elijah," she said and tried to smile as kindly as possible. She couldn't bear to watch him in the eyes so she closed her eyes. She drew small breaths and let a tear roll down.
"Are you planning on burying Kol?" she asked and swallowed the pain. Elijah had his short brown hair all over the place and he looked tired.
"I don't think so, we have him in a coffin," Elijah said and Ava nodded. She smiled to him without watching him in the eyes.
"You loved him."
"Like a brother, after all he did for me," she said and cried.
"It did not always seem that way," Eijah comented. Ava kept a long pause.
"Elijah I did love him more than a brother," she continued and wiped her tears away from her cheeks. Elijah walked to her and pulled her in to a hug. He had his hand on her head like he was keeping her in place, so she wouldn't break down. She sobbed a few times to Elijah sleeve.
"I'm sorry Elijah for causing trouble, but it just seems that everyone I love dies and I can't handle it anymore," Ava cried. She felt the switch. It was like a button, if you pressed it all shutted off. Every emotion vanished, like she was a robot. No feelings, no sorrow, no pain. Ava shook her head.
"I need to flip the switch," she mumbled and got away from Elijah. He frowned his eyebrows.
"Ava your feelings are the only thing keeping you close to a human. And when you are as strong as us you need to keep them on," he tried to convince her. She swooshed to a corner in the shadow.
"No I don't," she said convinced that it would be easier when her emotions were off. Elijah pinned her against the wall.
"You do not turn your emotions off," he almost shouted. Ava closed her eyes and smiled.
"They will destroy me Elijah," she said and opened her eyes. They were full of tears.
"You are Angeline Petrova. You stole the white oak stake from us without blinking. You are brave and you need to deal with the emotions you're having," Elijah said and petted Ava's cheek. She smiled.
"I can't," she said and closed her eyes. She flipped it. The switch was flipped.
"No, tell me you didn't," Elijah said. Ava snickered and nodded with a mad expression.
"I di-" a massive pain strook her head she collapsed. She held her head and screamed in pain. Her neck bent to an unhuman position. Elijah crotched down to her and tried to help.
"What is happening?" Klaus shouted from the door. He saw Ava lay on the ground in pain and she moved straight to Elijah.
"What happened?" he asked from him.
"She tried to turn her emotions off, but she collapsed," Elijah tried to explain. Klaus looked at Ava who glanced at him in pain. She tried to breath and her face was full off tears.
"Make it stop, please make it stop!" she cried to them. Stop fighting it. A voice whispered in her head. She shook her head and rolled on the floor. She felt that someone lifted her. She barely saw who it was.
"Klaus," she was able to whisper and let a small smile to wonder on her face. Stop fighting! The voice demanded.
"No," Ava said and Klaus looked at her and frowned his eyebrows.Yes you will. Don't turn your emotions off, you'll need them.
"I don't believe you," Ava chuckled and coughed.
"Ava are you alright?" Klaus asked and Ava shook her head. She opened her eyes and saw Klaus' worried face.
"Yeah sure I am," she said and sighed. Klaus knocked on a wooden door. Ava tried to look where they were, but Klaus kept her against his chest.
"Where am I?" Ava asked and the door opened.
"I need to know what is wrong," Klaus said to a female figure.
"I will do it for Ava," Ava recognized the voice. It was Bonnie.
