♛Chapter 1♛

04:04, 9 November 2014

As the cold, foggy garden of the Trancy estate slowly began to glow with morning sunlight, a young blonde boy had awoken, jolting up as the sun hit the windows and finding his way out of a horrific nightmare. A shrill scream filled the mansion and a tall, slender man wearing glasses appeared beside the traumatised boy.

"C-Claude!" The boy stuttered, holding his hands on his head in terror. "Claude, make them stop! Please... I cant take it anymore." He said, tears forming in his eyes.

"Your highness..." The tall figure replied, staring at the scared boy, and slowly pulling him into a gentle embrace. The tears ceased and he felt the young boy's breathing calm down.

This was a typical wake up call to the members of the Trancy household as this fragile young blonde awoke with awful memories from nightmares and his past. All the boy wanted was love, not forced love or fake love but a sort of love shared between two people that will last as long as they live and give them hope and warmth everyday of their lives. Unfortunately, this poor blonde soul had been through too much to remember or experience real love, he was now a rotten child and was sadly, unnaturally alone at 14 years of age.

This young boy was the head of the Trancy estate, Alois Trancy and his butler Claude Faustus (who is a demon), had made a contract with the boy in order to claim his soul after he had accomplished his wish, to make Ciel Phantomhive his.

"Claude!" Alois called impatiently.

"Yes your highness?" The tall dark butler responded.

"Make me something for breakfast, I want something sweet so... Make me waffles!" Alois demanded.

"As you wish, your highness" the butler replied, followed by a bow. The tall figure left the room, leaving Alois with Hannah to dress him.

Alois stared at Hannah with disgust and clicked his fingers pointing to the clothes on his bed beside him. The tall tanned maid avoided eye contact and made her way toward the bed near Alois to dress him. She removed his white nightgown as he lifted up his arms still offended by her presence, and gently buttoned on a white shirt followed by a forest green vest and some black velvet shorts. The timid, silent maid picked up an ash black ribbon, about to tie it around Alois' collar when he slapped it out of her hand.

"Hannah." He said, his tone of voice like poison. "Pick it up." He demanded, staring at her with an evil, sly smirk that was unique to his sadistic nature. The silent, saddened maid bent down to retrieve the ribbon but had to reach across her master to do so, receiving a blow to the stomach by her masters right knee. She let out a whimper and grabbed the ribbon, trying to show no pain. Alois let out an evil laugh that echoed the halls of the mansion and stared into his maid's eyes as she tied the ribbon around his collar, intimidating her with his stare. Just at that moment the boy's butler Claude arrived with his breakfast.

"Your highness, I have prepared your breakfast." Claude said, rolling in a golden serving tray. On top of the tray was his master's breakfast, light golden waffles topped with fresh strawberries and cream accompanied by sweet rose tea.

"Hannah," he said in disgust, "Piss off, I have no use for you now Claude is here. He will finish the job, now get out!" He screamed, anger filling his voice.

The quiet, timid maid bowed in response and left the room. Alois' eyes followed her out in disapproval but quickly brightened up as his eyes found Claude. The young boy, now in a good mood and full of energy, threw his black thigh length socks onto his butler and stared in amusement, a smile creeping onto his face.

"Come Claude, dress me!" He giggled, now beaming with excitement.

His tall dark butler still showing no emotion whatsoever, adjusted his glasses and removed the socks from his head, walking over to the beaming boy. Alois stared at Claude with affection as his butler bent down and put the socks on, followed by his knee high boots that were laced with purple ribbon. Claude then stood up and rolled the breakfast tray over to his master who was still sitting happily on the edge of his bed. Alois picked up the cutlery that was neatly set beside his breakfast plate and cut a small piece of the waffle, beckoning Claude over to him.

"Claude, feed me." The young boy demanded, opening his mouth.

His butler nodded and picked up the piece, feeding it to him. This was then repeated until Alois had finished eating and had also consumed his cup of sweet rose tea. The young boy slid off his bed and pulled on a plum purple coat that hung beside his bedroom door, looking in the mirror and adjusting stray strands of his platinum blonde hair while also watching Claude behind him.

"Your highness," his butler said in his usual monotonous voice, "Ciel Phantomhive called last night during your bath and asked to visit today, naturally I accepted the request on your behalf. He should be here in about an hour."

Alois turned around, staring at the clock that read 10:30am, then stared directly at his butler in shock and excitement, a small smirk creeping across his face.

"Oh?" He replied, sounding very interested, "although I'd prefer it if you had told me this earlier Claude," the young boy's words spoke in a poisonous yet still cheerful undertone, "I appreciate the surprise! I love suprises, and I hope Ciel does too..." Alois trailed off, seemingly deep in thought, as though he was secretly planning something.

"Your highness, Earl Phantomhive had also requested a duel for today." Claude said.

"A duel? Hm..." Alois said, "I've never fought in a duel with anyone before so this could be fun!" He exclaimed joyfully, making his way out of the bedroom and clinging onto Claude's arm, dragging him along.

They made their way downstairs, through the hallways and corridors and into the front garden. The young blonde boy let go of his butler's arm and skipped over to the fountain, sitting on the edge and dipping his finger into the cool, clear water, watching as he made ripples in the surface.

"Claude, did Ciel..." Alois trailed off looking down into his reflection, then looking up again, " Did Ciel say anything about me on the phone last night?"

"No your highness, nothing in particular." Claude replied as he turned to face his master.

Alois nodded in response and regained his bright expression as he looked at his stopwatch that he had placed in his inner coat pocket, the time read 11:00am.

"Claude," Alois demanded, "prepare the swords, clean them, polish them and get them ready for the duel now."

"Yes your highness." His butler bowed and went inside to complete his masters request.

Alois' eyes followed Claude into the mansion until he had completely disappeared from sight. The young boy then diverted his gaze to his reflection that rippled in the fountain beside him, staring intently and constantly checking the time and humming songs to himself to pass time. Alois checked the time a while later and called his butler.

"Claude!" The young boy demanded, "Claude! Its nearly time, hurry up!" Then checking his stopwatch again and fidgeting nervously as it read 11:28am. His butler then made his way swiftly to his master and led him back inside to sit at the newly prepared table that wasn't far from the front door, making greeting guests more convenient. Alois rested his head on his hand, impatient for his guests to arrive.

'Knock, knock, knock' was the sound at the door, causing Alois to jolt upright and run towards the front door, his butler following closely and opening the door.

"Welcome, and please come in." Claude greeted the guests and invited them inside. The first person to enter was a blueish-grey haired boy that was short and thin in stature, wearing a blue top hat to match his clothing and a black eye patch on his right eye. The next guest to enter was a tall slender man, similar to Claude only giving off a warmer presence and this man didn't wear glasses but did dress in black like Claude, he stood just behind the shorter boy who stood calmly in front, examining his surroundings, staring straight at the obnoxious blonde that was now walking towards him wearing a cheerful grin.

"Ciel! Welcome." Alois greeted, putting his right hand out toward the bluenette boy.

"Tch." Ciel exclaimed in response to the blonde's gesture, pushing his hand aside and walking forward, making his way to the table.

The blonde was now agitated, 'How dare anyone treat me like that?' he thought, following behind Ciel and thinking of a way to get back at him. As he followed behind the bluenette and without thinking, he began to admire his figure from behind, his shoulders were broad like a man but also shaped innocently like a child's and complimented his slender, sweetly shaped back that led to his a-, 'No,' the blonde thought, a small blush painting his pale cheeks, 'he has a fiancée, what is wrong with you all of a sudden?'

The truth was, the elegant blonde had always partially fancied this mysterious bluenette, but due to the fact that he had never known real love he was used to pushing away feelings that he believed weren't real. Even so, as they both took their seats at the table, the blonde stared at Ciel and couldn't take his eyes off him for one second, almost as though he was studying the bluenette's features. Ciel began to discuss something involving business to Alois and during the beginning of the discussion Alois was more than happy to listen, but deeper into the discussion, he just couldn't stop staring at the beautiful bluenette as he rambled.

"Beautiful..." Alois muttered.

"What? Trancy are you even paying attention?" Ciel asked, obviously annoyed.

"Oh," the blonde replied "so, how about that duel?" He said, avoiding the bluenette's question and his face regaining that natural smirk he always wore.

"Ah, I see." Ciel said, "are the swords ready?" The bluenette asked, a little more emotion on his face now.

"Of course, follow me." The blonde smiled as the bluenette walked behind him, following him into the courtyard.

Alois stopped in the middle of the courtyard when they arrived and looked over to make sure both butlers were still there, just in case something happened. The blonde turned to face Ciel, who much to the blonde's surprise was the one to put out his hand expecting a hand shake before the duel. Alois smirked and gripped Ciel's hand gently with his, pulling it up to his mouth and bowing down a little to kiss the bluenette's hand. Ciel, who was now very irritated, angrily removed his hand from the blondes grip and walked over to grab a sword.

"Trancy, I will now-" Ciel was cut off by the blonde, much to his irritation.

"Alois. Call me Alois for heavens sake." The blonde exclaimed. Earning a displeased sigh from the bluenette.

"As I was saying Trancy, I will now ask you to pick a sword from over there." Ciel said, pointing over to the side where Alois was standing at the sword rack behind him.

The blonde boy smirked and carefully made his way toward the sword rack that Ciel had pointed at, grabbing a sword, he walked over to the bluenette.

"So Ciel, shall we begin?" Alois asked, smirking in excitement as Ciel opened his mouth to reply, but was cut off once more by the irritating blonde beside him, "Oh and by the way, I think you should know that this Is my first time participating in a duel so please go easy on me." Alois said, his face a little more serious.

"Never, Trancy." Ciel replied, "You destroyed my pride, and for that I can never show anyone like you, mercy." He finished, staring the blonde in the eye, watching him stare at the ground in irritation.

"Oh I see how it is," Alois said, now looking straight back at Ciel, "Fine. I won't expect mercy but in return, don't expect any from me either, Phantomhive." Alois said, preparing to make the bluenette suffer and regaining his natural smirk that slowly widened into a smile.

Ciel walked slowly up to Alois and put his back against the blonde's, holding the sword and pointing its blade upwards. Alois leaned closer into Ciel awaiting instructions to begin the duel, his heart pumping with excitement and dread. 'Would Ciel really kill him?' He thought, 'He wouldn't, he's just bluffing right?'.
