Hunter, Grant and Tim are walking and talking when Angela and Talia walk down to the bottom of the stairs. "What's going on?" Tim asked.
"Talia just got the Tap." Angela said.
"No kidding. That's great." Tim and Hunter said at the same time.
"That's amazing." Grant said, proud of his friend.
In the carport, Grey is supervising delivery of someone in a patrol car; it's Isabel, the others are watching from the bullpen. "What is she doing back here?" Grant and Hunter asked.
***
Tim goes over to confront Grey as Isabel is led away. "What the hell's going on? They were supposed to hand her to the D.A. for prosecution." Tim said.
"Your wife made a deal to be a confidential informant." Grey replied.
"What?" Tim asked incredulously.
"She has a lot of contacts on the street." Grey said.
"Because she's a drug addict." Tim replied.
"With police training." Grey added.
"Which will get her killed if someone finds out." Tim argued.
"They won't let that happen. At least this way she stays out of prison." Grey said before walking off.
***
Hunter and Grant are responding to a reported silent alarm. "Dispatch, show us Code 6 and on location. How many times has this alarm gone off in the last month?" Hunter asked into the radio.
"Six that I see." Dispatch said.
"Thanks. We'll check the premises and advise." Hunter said.
"Did miss all this when you became a fancy detective in the NYPD?" Grant asked.
"Not at all." Hunter replied.
"What about me?" Grant asked.
"Even less." Hunter said jokingly.
They approach a convenience store, then crouch down under cover when they see that the cashier has a gun covering two men. "Don't you move." She said to the two men.
"Dispatch, 7-Adam-20. We have a woman with a gun. Requesting backup." Hunter said into the radio.
"Who wants to try me? Don't move." The cashier warned.
"Put the gun down." Hunter ordered.
"They tried to rob me." the cashier said.
"Drop the gun now." Grant said.
The two men take advantage of the distraction to make a run for it. One climbs on top of a display, trying to pry off a ceiling tile, and the other goes to run out the back door.
"Take the one on the left. Get down! There's nowhere to go." Grant then hits the man on the display in the leg with her baton and he falls to the ground.
"Stop! Drop the gun!" Hunter yelled chasing Alex.
"You're under arrest." Hunter heard Grant saying to the other robber.
Hunter chases the other robber, who ducks into a house nearby whose door is open. There is a man with two young children inside.
"Stop!" Hunter yelled.
"Where are your keys? I need a car!" Alex yelled at the dad of the two kids.
"Drop the gun! Put it down!" Hunter yelled. Alex runs upstairs. "Get out of the house. Get outside. Go, go, go." Hunter said to the dad and children. She goes upstairs, checking around corners as she goes, and comes upon Alex in a bedroom looking out the window.
"Drop the gun! Don't move."
Alex pauses, gathering himself.
"Drop the gun!" Hunter yelled.
Alex spins around, aiming his gun at Hunter. Hunter fires one shot and Alex falls to the floor, hit. Hunter then checks his pulse. "7-Adam-15, shots fired. Suspect is deceased. Notify the watch commander." Hunter said into her radio taking a step back.
Grant enters the room, staring at Alex on the floor. Hunter takes a breath. It's not her first time being involved in an officer involved shooting but that didn't make it any less traumatizing.
"Copy." Dispatch said in response to what Hunter had told him.
"Time of death?" Hunter asked.
"Time of death 09:55 hours." Dispatch said.
"He pulled a gun." Hunter said sounding distant.
"We can't talk about this, until after we're both questioned. It could compromise the investigation." Grant reminds her.
"Right. Of course. So, what's next?" Hunter asked.
"It's a homicide. I'll secure the scene, preserve the evidence." Grant reminds her calmly.
"I'm a suspect. I'll go wait in the hall." Hunter said, she'd thought she'd be used to taking someone's life by now but it had been so long since she'd last done it, at least twelve years since she killed someone.
***
"You did the right thing, letting them find Isabel's drugs," Tim shoots Lucy a side-eye. "Hunter told me." She elaborated.
"They weren't hers. She's in this situation because she let herself get taken advantage of." Tim replied.
"Do you really believe that?" Lucy checks the laptop screen when it beeps. "It's an officer-involved shooting," Lucy's heart drops when she sees the name, she looks over at Tim. "It's Hunter." Knowing it was easier to use her first name rather than her last name so Tim doesn't get confused with Angela.
Tim pulled over and slammed on the breaks, which caused Lucy to jolt forward, she glanced over at Tim who had closed his eyes taking a few deep breaths before calling Angela.
"Ange, Hunt's killed someone in an officer-involved shooting."
"No, looks like we're gonna have to go in and answer questions and booking'll be closed." Angela replied. "Are you okay?" She asked Tim.
"I will be." Tim said.
Angela hummed, seemingly knowing what he meant. "We'd better get back to the station." Angela said.
"Yep, see you there." Tim said before hanging up. Tim then turned to Lucy. "I need you to drive us back to the station." Lucy blinked in surprise and nodded.
***
Hunter stands in the hallway as the crime scene techs and detectives move around the body in the bedroom. "Detective Lopez? Detective Lopez." Grey was saying.
Snapping Hunter out of her thoughts. "Yes." She said.
"How many shots, from which direction?" Grey asked.
"He was standing over there, I was here." Hunter said.
"Lopez, remember-" Grey was saying.
"Yeah, I know. There was one shot, that way." Hunter looks into the room and then back into the hall.
Zoe has walked up to her. "Your companion officer? To guide you through the process. Anyone you want. It's your choice." She said.
Hunter didn't have to think. "Tim. I-I want Tim. Is that all right?" She asked.
"That's perfect. Officer Lawrence will take you to the station and Officer Bradford will be informed upon his return." Zoe said.
Grant walked over, taking the shop keys from Hunter. "After he, Talia, Angela and Grant and some other officers get questioned by IA." Hunter added.
"Yes, I forgot this wasn't the first time you've been involved in an officer-suspect shooting." Zoe said looking into the room where Alex was laying.
"It doesn't make it any less traumatizing. It was different in the army, I was trained to do that as a first and only resort in the LAPD or any police force, taking someone's life is always a last resort." Hunter said.
"Officer Lawrence." Zoe nodded to Grant.
Hunter was led by Grant to the shop and taken back to the station.
***
Tim, Angela, Talia, Nolan, Jackson and Lucy all arrived at the Holding Cell Area. "What's going on?" Lucy asked looking around.
The Holding Cell's are being emptied, Zoe is the one who walks over. "Booking's closed. We got a bus in the garage to take everyone to County." She said.
"Is that because of the shooting?" Nolan asked, Zoe nodded.
Talia, Tim and Angela all looked through the glass seeing Hunter enter, with Grant entering after her and heading over to the others. "She'll be cleared, right?" Lucy asked Grant.
"We hope so." Zoe replied, she then looked at Tim. "Officer Bradford, after speaking with IA. You're-"
"Hunter's companion officer." Tim said, interrupting the captain.
"Yes, but you'll still go out on duty during the day. Officer Bishop, I would like a word with you. Everyone else, go to the breakroom and wait your turns." Zoe informed them.
The rest walked to the breakroom and Talia followed the captain.
***
Hunter has her mug shot taken, then changes into street clothes and hands her uniform to Grey in a bag. Someone takes a blood sample from Hunter. "Things feel, um, really strange. Time is all over the place. I can't remember what the name is for it." Hunter said to Grey.
"Tachypsychia. It's a common response to a traumatic event. You'll feel better after you've slept." Grey said.
"So, what now?" Hunter asked.
"Now you meet with your lawyer, put together your written statement. Union rep is on his way. He wants to go over a few things. Then there's the interview, conducted by Internal Affairs, with the lead homicide detective, district attorney, and the independent police auditor in attendance." Grey said, listing off everyone Hunter has to meet with.
"Lot of people." Hunter comments.
"Just tell the truth to the best of your ability. It'll be fine." Grey said.
Hunter notices Tim and Angela in the bullpen, watching her with worried expression. "Questioning with IA, right, about me?" She asked turning to Grey.
***
Angela was in an interrogation room with Detective Barrett. "You're Detective Lopez's sister." She comments. Tim, Grant, Talia, Zoe, Grey and the rookies had already spoken to Barrett and it was now Angela's turn.
"Yep." Angela replied.
"How would you characterize your sister?" Barrett asked.
"Um, well she's one of the best people I know. At the Academy she'd stay up late helping one of our friends study, even if that meaning doing terribly on an exam herself." Angela said.
"Is she on any medication?" Barrett asked.
"No, she's got allergies, nuts and sometimes she gets eczema but that doesn't affect her job." Angela said.
"Has Detective Lopez ever talked about wanting to use force?" Barrett asked.
"No, I mean she was in the army but that was a different situation and she readjusted to society really well and would never use force unless needed." Angela said.
"Is she going through anything in her personal life?" Barrett asked.
"I mean, isn't everyone?" Angela asked in return.
"Anything traumatic? Death of a parent? Breakup? Interpersonal conflict?" Barrett asked.
"No." Angela said. With that she was allowed to leave.
***
Hunter sits in a chair looking lost. "You don't know who to call." Grey comments.
"Can it wait?" Hunter asked.
"The PIO will be briefing the press soon. You don't want your family to hear about this on the news. Who can handle a call like this?" Grey asked her.
"Mami. My Mom." Hunter said, the first time she went through this she told her abeulo but he was dead now.
Grey hands Hunter the phone and she dials; Emilia Lopez picks up on the other end. "Mom, it's me." Hunter said.
"Hunter, suenas distante, ¿qué pasa?/Hunter, you sound distant what's wrong?" Emilia asked in Spanish.
"Sí, escucha -/Yeah, listen -" Hunter tried to say but couldn't find the words.
"Hunter Alejandra, ¿qué está pasando?/Hunter Alejandra, what's going on?" Emilia asked.
Grey is writing something on a pad and he hands it to Hunter. It's a prompt as to what she should say to her mother.
"Mamá, verás algunas cosas en las noticias. Quiero que sepas que estoy bien. Y decirle a Damien, Cruz, Benny y Bruno que estoy bien./Mom, you're gonna see some things on the news. I want you to know I'm fine. And tell Damien, Cruz, Benny and Bruno I'm fine." Hunter said.
"Hunter Alejandra López, ¿qué pasa?/Hunter Alejandra Lopez, what's going on?" Emilia asked.
"Maté a alguien./I killed someone." Hunter replied.
"¿Qué?/What?" Emilia asked.
"En el trabajo. Maté a alguien. Y no es la primera vez, esa vez le dije al abuelo que no te lo dijera. Yo todavía era un novato en ese entonces./On the job. I killed someone. And not for the first time, that time I told grandpa not to tell you. I was still a rookie back then." Hunter replied.
"Oh Mija/Ay Mija" Emilia said sympathetically.
"Me tengo que ir mamá, te prometo que haré que Ángela te llame más tarde, ya sea después de que termine su turno o mañana./I have to go mom, I promise I'll get Angela to call you later, either after her shift ends or tomorrow." Hunter said.
"Hand the phone to Wade./Pásale el teléfono a Wade." Emilia ordered.
Hunter winced but handed the phone to her boss. "Sorry." She said.
Grey winced as well but accepted the phone, Emilia assuming it was Grey on the other line started speaking. "Wade, asegúrate de que mi hija salga libre sin ningún problema o, que Dios me ayude, iré allí y hablaré con el Comandante yo mismo./Wade, you make sure my daughter's cleared without any problems or so help me god I will come storming down there and speaking to the Commander myself."
Grey cleared his throat and started speaking English, even though he knew and could speak Spanish fluently. "Emilia, I assure you Detective Lopez will be cleared without any setbacks." That he knew would do nothing to reassure the Latin-American mother on the other end.
Emilia could be heard muttering things on the other end as she hung up. Grey turned to Hunter. "Everything's going to be alright, Hunter." He tried to reassure her.
"The first time I killed someone as a cop, I was a rookie. Do you remember?" Hunter asked him.
"I do and you were cleared no problem." Grey replied.
Hunter was about to speak when Zoe knocked on the door, Grey waved her in. "Lopez, you're Union Rep's here." She said looking directly at Hunter.
Hunter nodded and walked out the room.
***
Hunter was sitting across from her Union Rep in the interrogation room, trapped in her own thoughts. "Civil liability is covered up to $2 million under your plan." Simon Paige her Union Rep said, but to Hunter it was muffled.
She dragged herself out of her thoughts and looked at the man. "I'm sorry. I don't, uh - I'm a little - Who are you?" She asked him.
"Simon Paige, your union rep." Paige replied.
"Oh," the next thing Hunter knew a lawyer was sitting across from her. "What?" She asked confused.
"If you don't remember, say you don't remember. Under no circumstances do you express guilt." The Lawyer said.
"But I feel terrible." Hunter replied.
"Guilt implies you did something wrong. Now, they're gonna tell you your statement can't be used against you in a murder trial. Technically true, but it can and will be used against you in any civil proceeding." The Lawyer said.
"Right. You were saying, about a civil trial? Is that likely?" Hunter asked.
And suddenly Simon was sitting across from her again. "Quite. If liability exceeds $2 million, your wages will be garnished, pursuant to ..." His voice trailed off.
When Hunter bought herself back to reality, she finds that she's sitting across from Percy and four other IA officials. "...to subdivision F of California Government Code Section 3303 or as otherwise required by law." Percy said.
Hunter's head went fuzzy and she shook her head focusing on Percy. "You're Jackson's dad." She said.
"Yes, I am. But right now, I'm the head of Internal Affairs, and you're being interviewed about a shooting that happened earlier today." Percy said to Hunter calmly.
"Right. Yes, sir. Sorry." Hunter said.
"Now, do you understand your rights as I've described them?" Percy asked.
"No." Hunter said, she didn't even hear him say her rights and since it had been 12 years since she was a rookie she'd forgotten the rights.
"Only civilians have the right to remain silent. If you choose not to answer any of my questions, you will no longer be a cop. Understand?" Percy asked.
"I understand." Hunter replied.
"Let's begin," Percy waits a moment before speaking again. "Did you have any less-than-lethal weapons available? Taser? Pepper spray?" He asked.
"Yes." Hunter replied.
"Did you attempt to use any of these less-than-lethal weapons?" Percy asked.
"No." Hunter replied.
"Why not?" Percy asked.
"I'm not sure. I didn't have time." Hunter said.
"You're not sure or you didn't have time?" Percy asked wanting confirmation for one of the two options.
Hunter shakes her head for a moment trying to focus on Percy. "I-I didn't have time. My hand was on my gun. I couldn't reach for my Taser." Hunter said.
"Did you have cover or concealment?" Percy asked.
"No." Hunter replied.
"Did the suspect discharge his firearm?" Percy asked.
"No." Hunter replied.
"How many rounds did you fire?" Percy asked.
"One." Hunter replied.
"What were you aiming at?" Percy asked.
"Him, his chest. Center mass, like we were trained." Hunter replied.
"Did you hit what you were aiming at?" Percy asked.
"Yes." Hunter replied.
"Describe what he did or what you saw to make you think you struck the suspect." Percy said.
"Um. There was blood. He fell." Hunter said after a moment of thinking.
"Finally, appreciating that police work involves rapidly changing and dangerous, fluid environments, is there anything you would have done differently?" Percy asked.
Hunter thought carefully before answering. "No."
Percy nodded his head.

Nolan, Grant Angela, Jackson, and Lucy are sitting at a table while Tim's pacing behind them. Talia was working with the Detective's Wolfe and Vestri so Nolan was working the front desk when he wasn't on break.
"I can't imagine what Hunter's going through. Can you?" Jackson asked Angela.
"Yeah. My second year as a T.O., a prisoner transport went sideways. My Boot didn't search the suspect properly, lost her gun. The guy would've killed us both if I hadn't pulled the trigger." Angela replied looking down at her coffee.
"What happened to the Boot?" Nolan asked.
"I don't know. She wasn't a cop after that." Angela replied.
"Is there anything anyone said or did that helped you through it?" Lucy asked.
"No, I just had to make my peace with it." Angela said.
Grant glanced over at Tim who was still pacing. "Tim, stop pacing. You're stressing me out." Grant snapped.
"Hmm." Is all Tim replied with meaning he wasn't listening.
Angela turned to her friend and then turned to her other friend who was sitting beside her. "Grant ignore him. He's waiting for Hunter and then there's the thing with Isabel, so relax," Angela turned to the three rookies. "It's not Hunter's first time shooting someone in the line of duty as a cop." She explained.
"Oh." Lucy said.
"I heard about that. I was a kid at the time, around 12. Dad told me that one of the rookies shot someone to save her life and their TOs life. You're telling me that was Hunter?" Jackson asked.
"Yeah," Tim sighed and leaned on the counter near the coffee machine. "Same year we left the army. We left the army early 2007 joined the LAPD in March." Tim elaborated.
"You two served together?" Lucy asked, taking a sip of her coffee.
"Mhm, all six years. Básicamente, Tim es una familia en este momento./Tim's basically family at this point." Angela said switching to Spanish just to tease Tim.
"¿Te das cuenta, Ángela, de que hablo español, ruso, farsi y dari con fluidez?/You do realise Angela, that I speak fluent Spanish, Russian, Farsi and Dari?" Tim replied.
"Yeah, I know. That's why I did it." Angela said.
Zoe walked into the breakroom and she spoke directly to Angela and Tim to reassure them. "She's finished speaking to IA and Bradford, you'll be taking her home. Hunter's got the option between her apartment and your house."
Tim nodded and then walked out the room with Zoe following shortly after, Angela hesitated before racing past Tim, wanting to see how Hunter was before she left.
***
Hunter and Percy were in the bullpen, with Hunter handing her badge over to Percy. "Don't leave town. You must be available for questioning within an hour of notification. And remember, you can talk to your fellow officers. But they could be called in to testify about anything you say. So think about whether you want to drag them into this." He reminded her.
"I understand, sir." Hunter said. As Percy walks away, Hunter turns and sees Angela running up to her and hugging her tightly causing Hunter to stumble slightly.
Hunter releases her sister who looks her over. "Hey, are you all right?" Angela asked.
"Yeah. Feel like I haven't seen you in years." Hunter replied.
"Is there anything you need?" Angela asked, Hunter didn't get a chance to speak when Tim walks over.
"Ready to go?" Tim asked.
"Yeah." Hunter replied.
Tim and Hunter started walking away. "My house or your apartment?" Tim asked her.
"Um. Your house." Hunter said.
***
Hunter and Tim slowly walk up to the door of Tim's house. "Everybody will do their jobs. I'm sure it'll be over shortly. Just go get some sleep." Tim said to her.
"Thanks." Hunter mumbled.
"Why did you choose me to be your companion officer?" Tim asked.
"You're my best friend but the rest of them would have told me I did the right thing whether I did or not. I knew if I asked you, you'd tell me the truth." Hunter replied.
"So, why haven't you asked me?" Tim asked her.
"I don't think I'm ready to hear the answer." Hunter admitted.
"He had a gun on you. He refused repeated orders to surrender. I would've done exactly what you did." Tim said. He opened the door and allowed Hunter in first.
***
Hunter was lying on the bed in the guest room wide awake, she'd kept clothes and stuff at Tim's house for whenever she stayed over. She fell into her own head, remembering what happened. "Get outside. Go, go, go. Drop the gun! Put it down! Don't move." Hunter hears the gunshot. And then her own voice once again. "7-Adam 20. Suspect is deceased. I'm the suspect. I'll wait in the hall."
Hunter then hears Percy's voice. "Is there anything you would have done differently?" He asked.
Suddenly, Hunter's alarm clock goes off; it's five in the morning, she doesn't normally need an alarm but sometimes she had one. Hunter sat up in bed and then walked out to make coffee, she peaks inside Tim's room and he's gone for a morning run.
She made herself a coffee and then walked back to her room and decided to go back to the station, she needed something from there.
***
Hunter knocked on the door to Zoe's office. "Do you have a minute?" She asked.
"Of course. Come in. Get the door. How are you doing?" Zoe asked looking up at Hunter as she closed the door.
"Good. No. That's, uh That's not true at all. There was something I was hoping you could help me with. Um, I wanted to see my body-cam footage of the event, if that's okay." Hunter said sitting down across from Zoe.
"You have a right to see it. But honestly, I don't think you should. Look, I've been where you are now. It was an alley instead of a bedroom, rapist instead of a robber, but the results were the same. I understand that you want answers, but watching the body-cam footage, I don't think you're ready for how traumatic that can be." Zoe tells her.
"I need to see it." Hunter said.
"Okay." Zoe turns the laptop to face Hunter and comes over to sit in the chair next to her.
"Drop the gun! Put it down! Get out of the house. Get outside. Go, go, go. Drop the gun! Put it down! Don't move." Hunter almost flinches at the sound of the gunshot in the recording.
Zoe closed the laptop. "He was scared. Maybe he wasn't gonna pull the trigger. Maybe I could have talked him down another way." Hunter said.
"Hey. That's not what I saw." Zoe said to her.
"You think he was gonna kill me?" Hunter asked.
"I think you did exactly what we trained you to do when you saw that your life was in jeopardy." Zoe replied.
"Thank you." Hunter said.
Zoe and Hunter stood up, Zoe grabbed her laptop and Hunter turned to leave when Zoe spoke again. "One more thing. The other robber, Kyle Montgomery, posted bail this morning. He gave an interview stating that you killed his brother in cold blood. Now, obviously, we know that the facts don't match his version. Hunter, I want you to know that the department has your back, 100%." She said.
"Thank you." Hunter then left.
***
Tim and Angela are at table, talking. "The rooks were asking how they can help Hunter." Angela said.
"I found heavy drinking really helped knock out the nightmares. So did Hunter, which means she's either drinking whiskey or vodka or alcohol in her coffee or just plain coffee." Tim said with a smile.
"Maybe keep that between yourself and Hunter," Angela said with an amused smile, Talia comes up to the two of them. "Mm. Detective Talia graces us with her presence." Angela said teasing her friend.
"Yeah, it breaks my heart to see you out of uniform," Tim said sarcastically, he takes in the fact that Talia's not in uniform and looks her over. "You seem shorter." He comments.
Talia rolls her eyes. "I need to talk to you." She said to Tim.
"Come on, Boot!" Angela yelled as she leaves the table.
Talia takes Angela's seat. "How is she?" Tim asked.
"Not good. I can only imagine how you've been handling -" Talia was saying.
"I don't need to commiserate. I need to know what's going on." Tim interrupted.
"If the detectives know I revealed anything about the operation -" Talia was saying.
"Then don't." Tim once again interrupted, he gets up to walk away.
Talia calls after him. "They want Isabel to wear a wire to a drug deal. Tonight." She said.
***
Zoe is standing and talking with two men in suits when Tim comes storming in. "A wire? Why not shoot her in the head, and be done with it? Be a hell of a lot quicker."
Zoe ignores him at first and turns to the men. "Excuse us," the men leave and Zoe speak to Tim. "You enter my office again without knocking, I will put you on admin leave without pay. Is that understood?" Zoe warned Tim.
"You can't let them do this, all right? She's an ex-cop. As if being an informant wasn't enough, now they want her to buy a kilo of heroin wearing a wire?" Tim asked incredulously.
"I looked at her file. She took part in dozens of drug busts when she was a narcotics detective. And we can't use Hunter because she's station bound until further notice and she's got no connection to Vance." Zoe replied.
"This is different." Tim replied.
"Explain to me how it is that you know the details of their operation." Zoe said coldly.
Tim ignored that continued about Isabel. "You don't know her like I do, okay? You've read her file. You know who she was. I know who she is now. And the Isabel in that file is gone." He informed her.
"I'm sorry. All I can do now is put you on rescue detail. If the deal goes south, you will be the first in the door." Zoe told him sympathetically.
Tim turns to go, looking defeated. "I'm sorry I barged in. It won't happen again." Zoe nodded at that and Tim left.
***
Hunter was standing in a hallway at the station when Grant comes up to her, his shift having ended early seeing as he's got no partner and really doesn't want to ride with Smitty and so he decided to knock off early. "Hunt. Hey." He said.
"Hey." Hunter sighed.
"Uh, how long have you been standing here?" Grant looked around and noticed people looking up at Hunter. "People are staring." He comments.
"Oh. Yeah, I get that a lot." Hunter said.
"Tell me what's going on." Grant said.
"Ah, I can't. If I talk to you about it, they could call you to testify." Hunter said to her friend and partner.
"Uh, then I'll testify you're one of the best people I know." Grant said shrugging.
"I can't stop thinking about it. I was so amped up chasing that guy, and then he turned, and then he was dead. What if I can't get past this, Grant? I mean it's been twelve years since the last time I killed some but I don't- What - How will I ever do the job again?" Hunter pauses. "Um... You know what? I'm sorry. I should go." She said.
"Hey. No, no, no, no. Um, come with me. Yeah?" Grant then texted Lexi to make sure she was at home.
Grant Lawrence: Lex, you home?
Lexi Smith: Yep. I heard what happened, Hunter okay?
Grant Lawrence: She will be. I'm gonna take her to where it happened, meet us there and maybe you can take her either to your house or Hunter's apartment.
Lexi Smith: Tim's house. I don't own it but I live there. I'll take her there.
Grant Lawrence: Great. I'm sharing my location now.
Grant then put his phone away and led Hunter to his car.
***
Hunter and Grant are sitting in Grant's car outside the house where Hunter shot the robber. "What are we doing here?" She asked her friend.
"I can't imagine what you're going through. And maybe if I was in the same place, I'd think about quitting, too. But they're alive because you did your job. You put your own life at risk to protect them, and if you're ever in that position again, I know you'll do the same thing." Grant said.
Hunter hummed in thanks when Lexi's car pulled up, Grant wound down the window to the passenger side and Lexi wound down her own window. "Hey. I'm here to take you to Tim's house." She said skipping pleasantries all together.
Hunter laughed. "Alright," she turned to Grant. "Thanks." Hunter opened the door and got into the passenger side in Lexi's car.
***
Hunter and Lexi walk into Tim's house, Hunter and Lexi shiver slightly at the coolness of the house. "I think I left either a window open or the aircon on." Lexi said.
"Hopefully the aircon, not the window I'd rather not be broken into." Hunter said.
"The alarm system would go off." Lexi replied.
"Sure, unless they bypassed the system." Hunter said.
"I'll look around, you check the alarm system." Lexi said.
Hunter nodded. She checked the security system which was still armed and Lexi had found the window closed but aircon on.
"Wanna watch Top Chef and eat food?" Lexi asked.
Hunter mustered a small smile. "Yeah, sounds like a plan." She said. Hunter placed herself on the couch and Lexi joined her with food from the fridge and she turned on the TV to watch Top Chef.
***
Tim is watching a video on his phone. "Stop! What are you doing?" Isabel asked.
Tim laughed on the recording. "I want to remember this. Come on. This is our last day as fun, carefree single people."
"Only boredom and drudgery from here on out." Isabel replied.
"I'm afraid so. It's in the vows." Tim said.
"There's still time." Isabel said.
"Great. Yeah. Go." Tim and Isabel kissed on the video.
Tim swipes and finds an old photo it was of him, Hunter, Mark Greer, Richard Coyle, Michael Henderson from their time in the army, they looked so much younger back then, just before they're deployment for the first time. Tim smiled sadly at the photo remembering his two friends that were killed.
The door to the passenger side opens and Tim turns his phone off quickly and places it face down, seeing Angela come in holding drinks and junk food. Tim looks down at the food that Angela had pretty much thrown into his lap. "Hey." Angela said.
Tim looked at his friend. "What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Are you kidding? Hanging out near the airport is a normal Tuesday night for me. You'd be right here if the situations were reversed," Angela said, she looked over at Tim. "And I brought fries." She said.
"Thanks," Angela smiled, Tim looked over at Angela. "You know, you'd have to be in an actual relationship for the situations to be reversed." He reminds her.
"What are you, my mother?" Angela asked as she ate a chip.
Tim and Angela can hear Isabel via the wire.
"Who are you?" Pony, Vance's aide asked.
"Carson sent me." Isabel said.
"She's nervous." Tim said, able to hear her tone of voice.
"She's fine. She's done stuff like this before." Angela said before taking a sip of her drink.
"Get out of here, junkie." Pony said.
"Hey. I have the money that Carson owes Vance. Does he want it or not?" Isabel asked. It seems that Pony's let Isabel in because she speaks again. "You Vance?" Isabel asked.
"You got my money?" Vance asked her.
"Yeah." Isabel said.
"Count it." Vance ordered Pony.
"The money's all here." Pony said after checking the bag.
"How fast can you move that?" Vance asked.
"Couple of weeks." Isabel said.
"Good. Tell Carson next time he sends you to do his work for him, I'll assume you're in charge and put him in the ground." Vance informs Isabel.
"It's done." Tim said relieved.
Tim and Angela heard Talia over the radio. "Just take the brick and go."
"Hey, wait. Um, we could move more than this." Isabel suggested.
"What the hell is she doing?" Tim asked.
"Another kilo at least." Isabel once again suggested.
"Really? 'Cause Carson always said no to that much weight." Vance replied.
"What is she doing?" Angela asked.
"If he sends for another kilo, we can follow his guys to their source. She wants to end this." Tim explained.
"Ah, smart." Angela said.
"No, desperate. Gonna make him suspicious." Tim replied.
"Okay. I'll get you another kilo. But you'll have to wait." Vance told her.
"Sure. I got no place else to be. This place got a mini-bar?" Isabel asked.
"We should go in now." Tim said.
"Negative. We wait for the drop." Wolfe replied.
"I know you from someplace?" Vance asked Isabel.
"I don't think so." Isabel said.
"I do. You look really familiar." Vance said sounding suspicious.
"I'm an addict, and you're a dealer, so I'm sure we've crossed paths." Isabel said.
"He's on to her. He knows she was a cop." Tim said into the radio.
"It's a big city. He could have seen her anywhere." Vestri replied.
"Or she busted one of his friends back in the day." Talia replied.
"Could be. Maybe you just have one of those faces." Vance said.
"Sure. Yeah. I, uh, get that all the time." Isabel said.
Vance chuckled.
The image shakes and cuts out, as does the audio feed.
"What happened?" Angela asked.
"We lost signal." Tim said.
"All units, hold position!" Wolfe speaks into the radio.
"He's on to her. I'm going in." Tim replied.
"No. It's just a glitch, Tim. Hold position. All units, hold. Damn it. Go. Go, go." Wolfe relented.

The surveillance van speeds across the parking lot and pulls up in front of the motel, joining Tim's car. Everyone jumps out and busts into the room where Vance was moments ago. "Police!" Angela yelled. They clear each room.
Tim finds Isabel's wire and some blood on the floor. "Clear! They must have gone out the back." Angela said. She moves to stop Tim from attacking Wolfe just in case, but he didn't try and attack Wolfe, he was just angry they didn't stop the deal when they had the chance.

Hunter wakes up on the couch, Lexi having fallen asleep there as well, she decides to make herself some food as quietly as possible when she hears a noise. "Lexi?" She asked.
Hunter notices the outer door to the patio and pool is slightly open and goes over to slide it shut. She heads back to the living room, but before she gets there a man, Kyle jumps out at her and hits her with a baseball bat. He drags a dazed Hunter by her feet, out into the living room area, and hits Hunter again with the bat, then tosses it away and pulls out a gun. "Hey. You know who I am?" Kyle asked.
"You're Kyle Montgomery. You're Alex's brother." Hunter said.
"No! No, no, no, no, no. I don't got a brother no more. You killed him." Kyle yelled.
"I didn't have a choice. He was gonna shoot me." Hunter replied.
"You're a liar! He wouldn't have hurt anybody." Kyle said.
"You can't know that. You weren't in the roo-" Kyle pistol-whips Hunter. Suddenly there's the sound of a gunshot going off.

There's going to be changes in the next episode as well.
Tim doesn't go with Isabel to the hospital instead getting a call from Lexi.
Hunter decides to tell Lexi to leave before calling the cops, so that way she's not involved.
Lexi got Tim's off duty gun from the gun safe that works for Tim's, Hunter's and of course Lexi's fingerprint.
