-Eckhart Tolle
Don't ask me how the argument happened. Even I'm not sure, which is strange considering I was apart of it. Perhaps if I looked back on the situation, it could become clear.
———
"You know what it means, don't you?" Chiron asked softly.
Annabeth refused to meet anyone's...
Wait a second. We need to go further back.
———
"That we are going to make a great team," Annabeth said with a bit of sarcasm dripping from her tone.
My fingers twitched, eager to grab my sword and just end the conversation already. Parker must have noticed how both of us weren't the biggest fans of each other because he stepped right in between us.
"Come on guys. We already have a war coming, we don't need another one," he said, breaking us apart.
He seemed to be the only one that noticed that two of us wanted to kill each other. Annabeth and I were glaring at each other. I didn't know or care why she didn't like me, all that mattered was that she had betrayed me all those years ago.
"Maybe if I knew what he looked like, I could trust him," Annabeth said still glaring at me.
"Sure," I started with a sarcastic tone. "Because knowing someone's identity automatically means they have your trust. I know what you look like, and I'm not liking what I'm seeing."
She punched me. Not going to lie, it was a pretty sweet right hook, and I deserved the hit for being a jerk.
I stumbled back a little and was surprised when I felt a trickle of blood run down the side of my face. Annabeth was a lot stronger than I remembered.
People finally started to take notice that neither me or Annabeth liked each other. Luke held my shoulder to make sure I wouldn't retaliate. Clarisse, who was surprisingly still at Camp Half-Blood, took hold of Annabeth's right arm.
"We are supposed to be allies!" Chiron yelled at both me and Annabeth like we were six-year-olds that couldn't share. "Let's not have our leaders brawn when we're meant to be working together."
"How am I supposed to trust him when I don't even know what he looks like?" Annabeth countered. "I became allies with the Romans because we established trust. This-" she pointed at mine and Luke's hood. "-is not trust."
Silena walked into everyone's line of sight to get the attention on her. "My codename is Beauty. However, you may know me better as Silena Beauguard." she pulled down her hood to reveal her identity.
The older campers and Chiron were all frozen until Clarisse ran up to her old friend, and hugged the living daylight out of her. They both had tears in their eyes.
They made quiet conversation as a younger camper yelled out: "I thought she died?!" A few people shushed him causing the kid to yell sorry.
"I guess someone should explain," Alpha said, directing the statement at me. I mentally rolled my eyes before turning to the large crowd of demigods.
"Please refrain from yelling out questions while I am explaining," I shouted to the demigods causing all of them to become silent. "To answer the question everyone is thinking: Yes, Silena did die. However, as most of you already know, Chaos is our leader and the primordial of creation. After watching heroes for their whole lives, Chaos selects a few that have fallen to fight in one of his armies. The Elite Army, this army, is different. Each of the members were chosen specifically by me. During their lives, my members sacrificed themselves through death for the greater good. Silena was among those who I felt deserved a second chance." Silena smiled at me and mouthed a small thank you. I nodded in response. "She and the other soldiers have been working with me for a long time now. I trust each of them with my life."
A few campers awed.
"Well, maybe not Alpha," I said, catching them by surprise. "He somehow convinced my father to eat dog crap."
Luke smirked. "I told him it was chocolate."
All the campers laughed.
Bianca stepped up. "Any questions now that Omega is finished?"
"I have one." a voice spoke from the back. The owner of said voice came to the front.
Nico di Angelo.
"Will we learn the rest of your identities?" He asked as I saw Bianca pale. Knowing her, she wanted to run up to her little brother and hug him as Clarisse had done to Silena.
"Depends," Alpha asked. "I, myself am more hesitant considering I have a lot of enemies. Shadow, I know, wants to reveal herself to one or more people. Omega," he looked at me. "I doubt, due to how he reacted to us coming here."
I made a mental note to prank him later.
"I wouldn't be surprised if Forge revealed himself. Star will probably only-" Zoë cut him off.
"Just stop talking. Your explanation is taking too long. You could've just responded with maybe."
"Right." He replied.
"Any more ques-" I started, but was interrupted when a redheaded girl came running up to Chiron.
"Prophecy, " the redhead, who I recognized as Rachel Elizabeth Dare, panted. "There's a new prophecy coming."
And just like that, she passed out. Annabeth caught her before she hit the ground. A camper, who looked about seven, hurried over to them and sheepishly handed a stool to Annabeth.
"Thank you," she smiled at the young boy.
Two other campers came over to get Rachel to sit upright as green smoke flowed out of her mouth.
"Earth and Time rise together in Rome"
The smoke slowly crept over to the group of demigods.
"Heroes of past must return home"
Some of the smoke whirled around Silena, Luke, Annabeth, and me.
"Masks reveal the eldest son, stars, and dead"
More smoke went over to the rest of the army.
"Loyalty of the leader marks beginning's end"
The smoke became more green and began to travel over to Parker.
"Proof of ancient rivalries destroyed decides the path"
Parker tried to swipe away the smoke in his eyes.
"Olympus to serve or end in bloodbath"
The abnormal green smoke transformed into an ominous red color before fading into nothing.
