Chapter 18

Vincent floated in nothingness. He can't see anything but darkness. His body is numb because of the coldness he feels.

"Where am I?" he can't speak but he can hear his thoughts clearly.

It is an understatement to say that Lucy wasn't shocked by the sudden explosions. After she and Natsu survived the stray orb that he dragon slayer saw, they immediately vacated the area to find the other guild members.

Natsu told her about the plan and the real intentions of their interference except the confession that the salamander should've said earlier. Judging from the celestial spirit wizard's expression, she was absolutely astonished that Vincent's Uncle, Nero backs up the dark wizards.

Nero since she and Vincent were kids was already aloof, but he is kind to the both of them. He even used to give them sweets when she would go visit the Cashmere Mansion. So now, she just can't believe that a man like Nero would fall to the darkness.

Lucy was cut out of her reverie when they finally met with others at the front of the mansion. The outside was a wreck, fallen lamp posts and the uneven ground proved that the magic orbs have made its way there and are fended off by her guild mates.

"Lucyyyy~" Happy flew to her. She embraced the cat and giggled.With all the greetings and smiles that Lucy and the rest of Fairy Tail members shared after she came, one would thought that it was all over. But just after a few minutes, a new set of those magic orbs approached them, this time, the orbs are not scattered in all directions but are only pointed at them.

"Beast Arm Take Over!" Elfman, being the man he is, he charged to one of the orbs. But before the wizard could even punch the orb he's targeting, another orb flew near him, touching his back before it exploded. The explosion was not that powerful but it forced the take over wizard to kneel at the ground. Not even a scratch or dent was made on the surface of the culprit orb.

From the smoky surroundings, Nero appeared, behind him is the transformed Vincent who even with his dark appearance and cloak, his blonde hair continued to shine in the darkness for some reason.

"V- Vincent?" those were Lucy's thoughts. She can't believe that the kind and sweet friend that Vincent always is, would be engulfed by some evil and dark transformation. She was speechless, to say the least. She was immensely surprised that Nero was the one who caused this.

"What did you do with your nephew?!" Jellal, who previously knocked out an orb successfully, questioned the uncle.

"I didn't do anything." wickedly, Nero flashed a smile that was probably supposed to be an innocent one, "But that lacrima, did." he answered.

"What in the world have you done?!" Lucy yelled in anger. Her fists trembled and at that moment. But for some reason, she can't move her feet. She can't do anything. She felt powerless, because by now, she realized that her keys were not with her. Even if she was so sure to stuff it in her dress' secret pocket.

"Nothing. I just put a demon magic lacrima in his body." he grinned. "Hahahahaha! That was pretty easy. With some help of my dark wizard friends, I managed to have this weapon implanted on Vincent. Just like those second generation dragon slayer that you have."

"If that's true, then Vincent has the powers of a demon as a human." Erza concluded as she sheathed her sword.

"He is not a complete human now." Jellal said, "I read about it in the books. Anyone joined with the power of a demon can never be called a complete human. Right now, he is, safe to say, a part demon."

"Yes! Finally. Someone knows. He is indeed a part demon now!" Nero who laughed maniacally started to be engulfed in a black smoke. When the smoke has cleared, he was already wearing a black cloak. His forehead tattooed with ancient runes that even Natsu and the others can't read.

"What happened to him?" Gray who finally said something, asked.

"With Vincent being a part demon, that was made possible by Nero, his uncle received the right to control the lacrima inside his nephew. Thus, controlling Vincent over-all." Jellal informed.

Natsu, who was impatient as always, attacked Nero. But Nero was enveloped in a big bubble of magic that not even Natsu's fire can penetrate. What's more, is that the powerful the attack, the powerful the attack would ricochet at the attacker. Natsu was caught in his own "Wings of the Fire Dragon" and thrown on a big boulder.

"If I can't attack you, I'll beat this demon, instead!" with that, Natsu prepared for his attack, "Iron Fists of the Fire Dragon". Natsu closed in, almost punching him, but Vincent was too fast. The dragon slayer didn't see the strong punch that easily landed on his abdomen. He kneeled on the ground as he coughed blood.

"Natsu!" Lucy called him in worry. Her mind, worried with the current events.

"Was that punch, with magic?" Natsu only thought as he glared at Nero who was laughing more heartily.

"It is useless! You can't defeat me!" arrogantly, Nero smirked as his opponents. "I know! I shall make this fight, fun!"

"F-Fun?" Lucy only stared.

"Fun!" Nero announced, "Vincent! Kill this girl!"

A flock of those magical orbs that seemed different from the first ones, were too close together. They carried a certain white haired girl, unconscious to Vincent.

The orbs dropped Lisanna in  front of Vincent just as how would someone do with a sack of potatoes. With Nero's order, Vincent hold onto Lisanna's hair. Lifting her by the hair. Slowly, at Lisanna's neck, his dark clawed hands made its way.
