Chapter 146

17:23, 31 January 2015

"Lucy, get your ass out of bed. I expected you to be the first one up" a deep voice calls through my room, making me shoot up from my place. Why do I always get woken up in the most unpleasant ways imaginable?

"I'm up" I manage to say, eyes half open. I probably look terrifying.

"I'm driving your Dad and Matt down to the car hire place. I want you ready by the time I'm back, yeah? You have half an hour" he says, slamming my door shut.

Half an hour? He can't be serious.

I leap out of bed remembering that the asshole that just woke me up is taking me to Disneyland today, so he's not so much of an asshole.

I leap into the shower and immediately start washing what's necessary. I'm never going to have time to dry my hair. After a record breaking 5 minute shower, I wrap the towel around my body and start to blow dry my hair with the hair dryer that's in the bathroom. The amount of times I've asked Mum for one of these since I saw them in Portsmouth is unreal.

It takes me about 15 minutes to decide that my hair's never going to be bone dry in time, so I risk just running the straighteners over it. I quickly run the straighteners over my hair and do a braided headband thing around my head.

I swap my towel for some simple denim shorts and a floral crop top, obviously not forgetting my white, low-top converse.

"You ready?" Eleanor asks, jumping into my room, completely prepared for the day.

"Almost" I panic, realising I still have to do make-up. I simply apply some mascara to my eyelashes, and fill in my eyebrows slightly, before putting some sunglasses on top of my head and looking one last time in the mirror. "How do I look?"

"Ooo, you look cute" El winks. I chuckle slightly, grabbing my phone and sliding it into my pockets, and adding my Pandora bracelet to my wrist.

"Right Lucy, I cut you some slack and gave you five more minutes" I hear Conor yell as he makes his way up the stairs. I roll my eyes and Eleanor laughs quietly to herself. "You better be ready by the time- oh"

He halts to a stop outside my door when he sees Eleanor and I stood next to each other, completely ready to go.

"Took your time getting here, Conor" I smirk, strolling past him.

"Are we in the Lamborghini?" Eleanor stops as she makes her way past him, smiling innocently.

"Yeah" he nods. "Our Mum's are taking the Range Rover"

"Where's everyone else going?" she frowns in confusion. I listen in on their conversation as I lead the way downstairs.

"Our Mum's are going shopping and that place where there do wax figures-"

"Madame Tussauds" I correct him again.

"Thank you, Lucy" he gives me a quick nod. "And your Dad's are just driving around LA and 'seeing where the wind takes them'"

"AKA, the Playboy Mansion" Eleanor tuts and I cringe in disgust.

"I decided not to ask for that exact reason" Conor chuckles.

"How are they finding their way home?" I frown. Oh my god, I'd laugh so hard if they got lost.

"I texted your Dad my address and there's a built in SatNav in the car" he shrugs. Aw, damn. "Jack, let's go" Conor calls through the house.

"How long will it take us to get there?" El asks.

"Um, I'll try and make it in half an hour. Might be traffic when we get closer though" he shrugs. "Jack, Anna, come on!"

Damn, he's hot when he takes charge.

I snap out of my thoughts when I see Jack and Anna running downstairs... Well, Anna takes the stairs. Jack decides to slide down the banister. I'm so trying that when we get back.

"Lucy's in the front with me. Everyone else in the back" Conor decides as we all pile out of the house. I smile in satisfaction as we all make our way to the car.

Anna squeezes in the middle of Jack and Eleanor in the back of the car whereas Conor and I sit comfortably in the front. This feels great.

"With it being a Saturday in the summer holidays, won't all the queues be huge?" Eleanor frowns. She asks too many questions.

"Fuck that, I got us all a Fastpass" Conor shrugs as we speed down the long road that leads out of his house. "We get to cut queues"

El squeals, "I love being with rich people"

"Don't get used to it. There's a ninety percent chance I'm bankrupt after spending so much money on you this week" he scoffs, making me instantly feel bad for even asking to go to Disneyland.

I mean sure, he's rich, but that's his money and he shouldn't be spending it on us. I'm sure he was only joking by what he said to Eleanor and it was completely aimed at her constant need for food this week but it still makes me feel bad for the boy.

"You didn't have to take us here, you know?" I sigh once Eleanor and Jack start making bets on how many rides we'll go on today. They do this a lot; bet ridiculous amounts of money on stupid things. I'm definitely the sensible one out of our group.

"Of course you would take that seriously" he chuckles. "Luce, it was only a joke"

"Yeah but it's your money and you shouldn't have to spend it on us"

"Well I want to. It's not every day I get company up here, you know?" he shrugs. "I like to treat you all"

"Thanks" I smile. "I appreciate it"

He glances at me for a second and smiles before returning his attention back to the road.

"You look nice"

"Thank you" I bite my lip to hide my smile, failing miserably as a huge smile breaks across my face. "I could've looked better if I had more than half an hour"

"Hey, I gave you five extra minutes. If you'd have woken up earlier, this wouldn't have been a problem" he teases.

"I didn't know we had to be up this early!"

"It's only nine, Luce" he chuckles, butterflies hitting my stomach as soon as he says my name.

"Since when have you happily woken up early?" I raise an eyebrow. Two years ago, I think he loved his bed more than he loved me. I try not to take it personally...

"Being in the music industry has changed me" he teases again, making me chuckle. "So what's the latest on Lois and Sam? I haven't spoken to her in a while"

I groan and shake my head, "Last I heard was they're going on break for a bit until they both decide what they want"

"Serious?" he chuckles. "Those two have more problems than a bloody math book"

I roll my head back in laughter, completely agreeing to what he's saying. Lois and Sam's relationship didn't last long. I think we all expected it to be honest. They're both not the 'settling down' type.

They broke up after 4 months when they both decided they just weren't working out. They were having constant arguments and just not loving each other's company as much as they used to so they eventually came to a mutual decision to break up... for a while.

After that, they stopped talking for around 1 month until they had, um... interactions with each other at a party, and it's just been seriously complicated ever since. They always meet up and stuff but then they argue and say they're going on a 'break'. It's weird.

I always say, why don't they just sort their acts out and get together officially. I mean, it's what they both want but they're both too damn stubborn to admit to that. It's either Sam saying that he prefers to sleep around, or Lois actually making out with a guy in front of him just to get Sam mad.

I don't even know why they both bother with all this hassle. I mean, either end it or get together. Don't do a mixture... I think they're both just scared of settling down too early in their lives, but hey, you can't stop yourself from falling in love.

Honestly, I thought Conor and I were bad back in the day but these two are on another level. The whole group and I usually have huge Skype calls and the conversation never fails to make its way onto those two.

"They should just end things. They're such a shit couple. As if Lois could ever settle down with someone" Conor laughs.

I shrug, "They both care about each other"

"Then why don't they just be friends? Why complicate things?" he sighs.

"When two people really care about each other, they will always look for a way to make it work, no matter how hard it is" I shrug again, only realising how relatable this is to mine and Conor's situation, after I've said it.

We both don't speak after that and with everyone in the car on mute, I'm guessing Conor and I weren't speaking in private. I also think everyone realised how relatable what I said was to mine and Conor's situation... Not that they know anything about it.

"Why has it gone silent?" I hear Anna whisper, making me laugh under my breath.

"How long have we been driving for, Jack?" Conor breaks the silence.

"Only ten minutes"

"Easy" he smirks, speeding even further down the motorway.

-

"That was such a rush" Eleanor squeals as we get out of the car.

"I'm gutted there was traffic" Conor groans.

"We were literally in traffic for five minutes, queuing to get into this place" she frowns in confusion.

"Yeah but we would've been quicker if it wasn't for that"

"Rich people" she rolls her eyes, making me bite back my laugh.

We're finally at Disneyland and I literally think I'm about to have a heart attack or something. I only ever see this place on bloody TV and now I'm here... In Los Angeles! I still haven't let that sink in.

"You alright? You look like you're about to faint" Jack frowns at me.

"I think I am" I gawp at the opening sign to it.

"Jesus Christ, Anna's calmer than you are and she's twelve" he rolls his eyes.

"Leave her alone, she's been having dreams of this since she was like, five" Eleanor backs me up and I give her a small nod of appreciation.

"You have dreams of coming to Disneyland? Bloody hell" he rolls his head back in laughter, receiving daggers from both me and El.

"Quit messing about and let's go" Conor snaps. Jack gives him a quick salute and Eleanor pulls a face.

"I think Conor's most excited out of us all" Anna mutters. I start laughing and Conor just shakes his head in amusement.

-

"The party's finally arrived" Eleanor cheers as we roll into the house.

To say Disneyland was absolutely amazing would be an understatement. Let's start off with the 'fastpass'... We literally didn't queue for anything. I felt like a VIP. The lines were ginormous and we just got to cut right through, and as sick as it sounds, I took joy out of people's scowling faces as we strolled straight pass them.

The rides weren't these crazy ass rollercoaster's that you see at Alton Towers or something, but they were actually really good and I just loved how they were all Disney themed. I've got to say, I think the underwater Finding Nemo ride was my favourite. I don't think I blinked on the ride.

Conor and I were 'partners' all day. I can't think of one time where we split up in the park. Well, except from when I went to the loo. El and Jack would wander off every now and then and sometimes take Anna with them, but there was never a time when Conor and I parted ways... and I didn't mind it one bit. He even bought me, Anna and Eleanor little Minnie Mouse ears. Cute.

We stayed at the park for 12 hours and not one time was I bored or tired. I don't think I've even eaten anything today actually... We just got a take-away for the ride home. Oh and by the way, America does have Chinese take-aways. Praise the Lord.

So it's now midnight and after our crazy outing, I just want to sit down, eat my Chinese and watch Tangled. We planned to do this in the car. There was a bit of a heated discussion about the film choice but Anna and I soon persuaded everyone into it.

"Jeeze, the house is dead" El sighs. "Hey Lucy, do you think our Dad's got into the Playboy Mansion?"

I scrunch my face up in disgust as Eleanor continues to wind me up about the traumatizing thought.

"They went where!?" Jack raises his voice.

"Jack, calm down buddy" Conor frowns in concern.

"I've been stuck in Disneyland all day when I could've been with your Dad's. What the hell, man? Why did nobody tell me?" he groans.

"Well one, would you tell anyone your Dad was going there?" Eleanor raises an eyebrow. "And two, we don't even know for definite if they have"

"Yeah, they only told me they were seeing where the wind takes them" Conor shrugs, throwing his coat on the banister.

"I need some air" Jack breathes, making his way outside.

After finding our parents and confirming that our Dad's were in fact only joking about the Playboy Mansion, and they actually only went to see the Hollywood sign and the Walk of Fame, we end the night by telling each other about our days... Of course with Tangled playing in the background.
