Chapter 19 (Graduation day)

Jisoo's POV:

Today is the day. We have our graduation ceremony that will starts at 5 PM and will have our graduation ball as the continuation at 9 PM onwards. I'm currently in Salon right now with Lisa and having our hair and makeup while Irene, Jennie, and Joy are together in one salon nearby on their subdivision. Seulgi will be here anytime soon to join us.

I miss this Lisa girl, she's been absent for 2 weeks because she spends a lot of time with her family. Sometimes, I envy her for having very supportive parents. Good to know that my parents have time to attend my graduation, they canceled their business trips to be with me today. After class, I used to visit Lisa as always since we're neighbors and I noticed something strange to her. Something's not right but I can't figure it out. I have known Lisa since birth and I can sense it if she's hiding a secret or if something's bothering her. But what is it? Her parents are here, Jennie's with her and they're in good terms and us, her friends are also here. She's also rich so it's not a financial problem. Maybe I'm just assuming?

"Sorry, I'm late ".Seulgi just arrives. She went with us and give us a hug.

"We're used to it ".Lisa tried to teased her

"Look who's talking".Seulgi replied.

Seulgi seated and position herself on a comfortable sit so the stylist can start her job...

Lisa's phone vibrated so she checked it. Jennie message her.

"Hi Boo, just arrived here at the salon with Joy and Irene. I'll see you later. Love you". She smiled because Jennie attached her photo to the message.

"She doesn't need a makeover, she's already beautiful".Lisa whispered.

"My girl is so pretty 😍 I'm almost done with my make up and having my hair done, I love you too can't wait to see you," Lisa replied to Jennie's message and also sent her a picture.

Jennie's jaw dropped when she received Lisa's picture.

"She's so stunning, that jawline makes me weak. Aish! This idiot, I need to keep an eye to her later, for sure guys and girls will be head over heels to her once they saw how gorgeous my Lisa is." Jennie whispered to herself.

"No!  I'm not whipped, I'm just protecting my property".She nodded her head and smiled.

2 hours passed and everyone is ready. Jennie gets her phone and took a photo of herself before being dressed. She replied to Lisa.

"I'm done, boo".

"Take it off, take it off". Lisa teasingly replied.

Jennie read her message and burst out laughing.

"Hahaha!  Pervert!  Are you done"?she replied to the message.

Lisa sent Jennie a picture of her and trying to endorse a beauty product.

"Your bride is ready! Do you think I can be a makeup endorser"?Lisa captioned her photo and send it to Jennie.

Jennie laugh again when she read Lisa's reply.

"I'll buy all of the beauty products including you if you will be the endorser" She typed and sent it.

Jisoo noticed Lisa smiling like an idiot. "Yah!  Stop flirting and let's go now". She said.

Lisa replied to Jennie "We're going to the venue now, I'll see you, my love".

It's 4:30 PM and everyone gathered in the venue. Parents will be seated at the back while graduating students are all in front. Lisa, Seulgi, and Jisoo arrived in the venue early because they're just nearby. They're waiting for the other girls.

Jennie arrived with her parents, she saw her friends and happily waved to them. She's about to go in their direction when her dad held her hand and whispered.

"Remember what I told you last time, stay away from her"Jennie's Dad warned her.

"Dad, please not tonight. Just give this to me, just tonight".Jennie replied and walk towards her friend's direction.

Her Dad just gave her a glare.

Irene and Joy arrived together and the three went together on their seats.

"You're pretty and gets prettier tonight".Seulgi praised Irene

"You too, I mean all of you ".Irene replied.

Lisa intertwined her hand and seated next to Jennie. "Can I marry you now".Lisa is staring at her and kissed her hand.

"Do you think I will say yes ".Jennie jokingly replied.

"Will you marry me?  Yes or yes? Lisa asked.

"Can I answer "or"?" Jennie teased back. Lisa pretended that she's hurt and Jennie notice it.

"Of course I will marry you anytime that you want ".She smiled and held Lisa's hand tighter.

The graduation ceremony started. The School Director gave his words of welcome and the Dean of the college followed. After giving an inspirational message to the graduates there's a student who had an intermission number then the MC starts now calling the graduate's name so they can proceed on stage to get their diploma.

Jennie's group was also awarded as the "Best in Thesis" and she was awarded at "Best Presenter "

The girls went up to the stage to get their awards and take a group picture.

2 hours passed and everyone is already seated.

MC: Now may we call on our top student to give her closing speech. Our school's Summa Cum Laude, Jennie Ruby Jane Kim. *everyone stands up and gave her a round of applause*.

Lisa graduated as Cum Laude but the highest distinction will only provide a speech. Hashtag couple  goals.

Jennie walks confidently and went up to stage for her speech. Lisa claps as a proud girlfriend so her friends are.

"Why are you smiling, idiot".Lisa asked Jisoo

"Because it's my first time to hear that Jennie is "Top" hahaha I mean top student" Jisoo answered

Today, we celebrate the culmination of all our efforts. Today, after all the years of our education, the seeds of our determination have borne fruit. "Jennie started"

It makes me remember how we've come to this point in life, all of the experiences we've had here at YG University. We've had our fair share of hardships and triumphs. Making friends, losing loved ones, getting lost in unfamiliar places, being found by familiar faces, failing a test, making a comeback, receiving help in times of need, giving help to those in need, falling in love, getting heartbroken, recovering and moving on, struggling to keep up with life, and enjoying every minute of it.

College life really has been one heck of a roller coaster ride for us. You know, these moments, however painful some of them might be, are actually blessings. All of these moments are time and effort well-spent, every second of it, every blood, sweat, and tear was well worth it.These experiences have all become a part of our lives, the reasons we've become the person we see each day in front of the mirror. These are all essential, and like most essential things, they are invisible to the naked eye.

Our parents, our loved ones, our family deserve our thanks and gratitude, they deserve our warmest round of applause. Mom and Dad, thank you for all of your hard works and for bringing me back here in Korea. Enrolling me in YGU is one of the best things that happened to me.

To my beloved friends who are seating there *she pointed the direction*

Thank you for being with me from ups and downs. When I entered the portals of this school. I know no one and you guys made me feel welcome. More years of friendship with you guys. Please know that this Ruby Jane loves you.

And to my boo, my partner in crime and my one and only Lalisa Manoban, thank you for coming into my life. My last year in college became more meaningful because of your presence.

Thank you for being one of my inspirations to strive more and to study harder. We will get through everything together. You were there for me when times were tough. You were always the first person to ask me how I was doing, if I needed help with anything, or if I wanted to get away so that I could clear my head. You were always so worried about me, and I always told you that I was fine. Because I was, knowing that I had you with me. Now that everything's okay, I know that I can still count on you for anything. Thank you for being that person for me. I love you! Please stay with me forever.

To end this, again my warmest congratulations to the YG class of 2019

Jennie bowed her head and the audience claps when she finished. She looks at her parent's direction and saw her Dad crossed his arms and nod his head because of disappointment.

Jennie ignored it and go back to her seat.

MC: That was a wonderful speech, thank you, Ms. Kim. Congratulations Graduates! We have the graduation ball after an hour, dinner and drinks will be served. See you all at the reception. The MC ended the program.

Lisa hugged Jennie tight

"Congrats,  my loved".She greeted

"You did great too".Jennie replied

"Congrats to us girls" Irene greeted and initiated a group hug.

"C'mon let's get ready for the grad ball".Joy pulled from the hug.

"Excuse myself, I need to go in the washroom first". Lisa excused

"Do you want me to go with you ".Jennie asked

"Aniya, I'll be quick promise *give her a peck of kiss* I'll see you later?

Jisoo Unnie, please wait for me at the lobby." Then she leaves.

Lisa run to the washroom. She's about to cry when she heard Jennie's speech "Please stay with me forever". It echoed in her mind. But I can't promise, she whispered when she remembers her current situation, her disease.

The girls were left in the venue and took a photo of themselves together with their parents.

Lisa is about to go inside the washroom when someone grabs her arm. She knows this person. She was shocked and stop for a while.

"Let's talk".The old man instructed her...
