~ Chapter 5: Questions ~

[ Jackie’s POV: ]

“Good morning!” Robin greeted me with a mouthful of bread as she sat at the dinner table next to about 3 boxes of pizza.

“Morning?” I raised my eyebrows in confusion, stepping closer to get a better view of her.

“You can help yourself to any flavor you’d like,” she eyed the boxes and I leaned on one of the chairs.

“We’re having pizza for breakfast?” I smiled teasingly.

“Of course we are,” she rolled her eyes. “Is that a problem?”

“Hell no,” I laughed, grabbing a slice and sitting in front of her. “Where are your parents and grandparents?”

“They’re still upstairs sleeping,” she shrugged. “I guess we’re early birdies.”

I let out a chuckle, munching on another piece of my pizza before taking out my phone. I replied to a few messages my mom left me and let her know that I was coming home tomorrow, since Robin’s Dad has to go back to work earlier than he expected.

After I was done replying, I went to my web browsing app and it opened up a website I visited a while ago, about celebrity gossip. I was about to go to Google when Justin’s name on the headliner caught my attention. Removing my finger from the screen, I looked at the title:

Justin Bieber’s Drunken Adventure

I raised an eyebrow, glancing over at Robin to see she was also on her phone, distracted by whoever it was that she was texting. Looking back down at the device in my hands, I curiously tapped the article and began to read.

Pop star Justin Bieber has gotten himself into a mess yesterday night when he was caught leaving a club with his friends Lil Twist and Lil Za. Paparazzi caught up to the three guys and could instantly tell that the young singer was… Drunk?!

As the paparazzi asked some questions, Justin replied to them rudely, calling them “dumbasses” and uttering drunken sentences all meanwhile his friend Twist tried to drag him out of the mess. By the end of the encounter, the “As Long As You Love Me” singer chucked water at the men from the water bottle he held in his hand since he walked out of the club. The whole situation ended in Twist finally convincing the Biebs to leave, as the paparazzi were soaked all thanks to Justin Bieber.

Watch the video below of what happened that night taken by one of the paparazzi and tell us what you guys think. Is Justin Bieber’s career in the verge of being destroyed? Or is he still a sweet little role model for 12 year old girls? Ouch.

I clutched the phone in my hand, wanting to throw it at the wall but kept my composure. This article just made Justin look like a complete jerk and I know there’s another side to this story. I know paparazzi are on his ass lately and they need to just leave him alone and maybe he wouldn’t act the way he does around them. Plus, wasn’t it mentioned that he was drunk? So why are they making him look like the bad guy when all the other paparazzi were sober? Then again, Justin should really watch his actions when he’s out in the public. I mean…

Whatever.

I sighed, locking my phone and placing it on the table in front of me. Maybe the next time I see him, it’s best I don’t bring up anything I’ve read about him on the news. It’ll just be awkward and it’s not like I believe a lot of what they’re saying anyway…

[ Justin’s POV: ]

I let out a low groan, feeling as if someone was smashing bricks into my head repeatedly. The bad thing about getting drunk is that… You get hungover.

“Oh good. You’re awake,” a voice snapped me from all thoughts, causing me to sit up, despite the throbbing pain that ached inside my head. Once I managed to lean my back against the headboard of my bed, I looked at Scooter and felt my heart drop.

“Good morning,” I tried to speak as casually as I could.

“Hey, how’s the headache?” he narrowed his eyes at me, and I immediately knew I was busted.

“How’d you know I went clubbing yesterday?” I asked, plopping back down on the bed and curling up into a ball.

“How’d I know?” he chuckled bitterly. “You’re all over the news, Justin. How could I not know?”

My heart dropped and I blinked my eyes repeatedly. I honestly don’t remember a thing about what happened last night, but something tells me I did something I’m already regretting.

“Why am I on the news?” I asked quietly, scared to even find out. “What did I do?”

Scooter leaned down and grabbed his laptop before making his way over to my bed and taking a seat next to where I was laying down. Opening his computer, he placed it in front of me so I could clearly see the screen. He pressed play on some video being displayed and I saw myself acting like a complete, drunk shithead, causing my stomach to churn in all different directions.

“Scooter, I can explain–,” I began, only to be cut off by Scooter raising his hand up at me, signaling me to stop.

“It’s too late,” he simply replied. “By now, an explanation doesn’t even matter.”

I kept my mouth shut and just stared at him, waiting for his next move. Surely, he always has a plan. But this time, he wasn’t saying anything.

“What do we do?” I whispered, wanting an answer. Scooter sighed and ran a hand through his face vigorously.

“Wait for this to die down at least a little. I don’t want you going outside without my consent.”

My eyes widened. “What?! But–”

“–But nothing,” he finished for me. Without saying another word, he picked up his laptop and left my room, leaving me to sit there in shame and guilt.

I should’ve been more careful. I always tell myself just that and I never end up actually being careful…

----

“What the hell are you doing?”

I looked up to see Alfredo leaning on the doorframe to my room, his arms crossed as he looked down at me. I was currently sitting on the floor in a criss-cross formation while just staring out the window. I didn’t even bother to put a shirt on today.

“Nothing,” I answered, which was true. I was doing absolutely nothing for the first time in my life.

“Is something wrong?” he asked, uncrossing his arms and taking a step towards me. The tone he had said that in already told me he knew exactly what was wrong, so I didn’t answer. Instead, I kept my gaze on the window a few feet away from me as I felt Fredo’s presence lean down and sit beside me. I heard him let out a long sigh, causing me to side glance at him.

“No,” I whispered, immediately feeling Alfredo’s eyes on me, as if that one word had surprised him.

“Come again?” he said, confusion circling his voice.

“Whatever it is, the answer is no. I don’t feel like talking right now,” I mumbled grumpily.

“Justin–”

“NO.”

It was silent between the two of us and I ignored Alfredo’s shocked aura, keeping my mouth shut as I studied the way the breeze hit the trees outside.

“Fine,” he muttered. “We won’t talk.” He repositioned himself so that he was sitting more comfortably on the floor. “We’ll just sit here and… say nothing.”

I rolled my eyes but didn’t argue with him. As long as I can drown myself in my own thoughts without being interrupted, I quite frankly don’t really care who’s with me.

“I messed up pretty bad, didn’t I?” I surprised both Alfredo and myself by talking after minutes of silence.

“Nah,” he shrugged. “It’ll blow over soon. I’m still waiting for news about Kanye having more kids. I mean, really… Where’s South, East and West West?”

I widened my eyes and burst out laughing, falling over to the floor face first. I could hear Alfredo chuckling at his own joke while my insides felt as if it were eating itself bit by bit due to how hard I was laughing. Just when I thought I was almost done, I suddenly began to choke on my own spit and let out multiple gasps, feeling as if the air was suffocating me.

“Are you seriously choking on your own spit right now?” Alfredo snorted, shaking his head in amusement. I shot him the deathliest glare in human existence and he finally decided to be useful for once and help me breathe again. Pinning me to the ground, Fredo pressed both of his hands to my chest and began pushing down countless times until I felt the need to cough. Once I did, my entire body relaxed itself, though my heart was still beating loudly in my chest.

“I hate you,” I cleared my throat, dropping to the floor lazily.

“Love you too,” he smirked, and that’s when I realized we’ve had this exact conversation, except the other way around. “Oh, how the tables have turned,” he chuckled, and I was ready to tackle him before a knock on the door stopped me from doing so.

“Justin,” Scooter’s face revealed itself from the hallway. “Someone’s here to see you.” There was hesitation between each word and he had a worried expression on his face. I stared back at him in pure curiosity before standing up.

“Who?”

“Put a shirt on,” he said, disappearing down the hall just like that. I furrowed my eyebrows together and looked over at Alfredo, who was just as confused as I was. I shrugged it off and walked towards my dresser, picking out a random v-neck and throwing it over my head to cover my sexy ass abs.

Walking past Fredo, I exited the room and followed where Scooter had left to, eventually ending up in the living room. I instantly noticed it was entirely empty, except for her, who was sitting on the couch, waiting patiently for me.

“Hello Justin,” she stood up the minute she saw me, locking eyes with me but keeping her natural, strict look on her face.

“Alright, what the hell are you doing here, Cindy?” I growled lowly, refusing to be polite to someone like her.

“Hasn’t anyone taught you any manners?” she shook her head disapprovingly, adjusting the oversized purse hanging from her shoulder.

Manners? Why should I be nice to my ex-girlfriend’s manager? The woman who helped end it between Alicia and I. The woman who took away the one girl I truly loved.

“Don’t you have better things to do? Like, I don’t know, monitoring every guy Alicia might be interested in and making sure the relationship doesn’t last long?” I tapped my right foot on the ground impatiently. “Hm?”

“Justin, let’s be honest here,” she sighed. “You don’t like me and I certainly don’t like you. We could live our lives completely avoiding each other but the problem with that, my boy, is that we both love the same person. Alicia Louise is the only reason we keep having to talk to each other, despite how we feel towards one another. So you either shut your mouth or I’ll leave because, trust me, I don’t want to be here standing in the same room as you any more than you do.”

I tightened my jaw, fighting back the urge to roll my eyes. “What do you want?” I went straight to the point.

“I’m only here because Alicia asked me to.”

“What? Why would she do that?” I pressed on the subject. “She’s the one who broke up with me…”

“I know but don’t question it. The girl wants to see you… And pronto,” she merely shrugged.

My heart skipped a beat. “Alicia? Sh-She wants to see me?” I asked for clarification.

Cindy nodded. “She told me she wants to speak to you. I didn’t like it at first, but she demands it.”

“Well… When can I see her?” my voice was soft, the thought of seeing Alicia in person again and being able to see her beautiful eyes looking back at me… It just… It was enough to make me go nuts.

“She’s taking a break from touring in 2 days. I’ll let you know when you can stop by.”

“Wait, really?” I asked. I knew Cindy and, if anything, she couldn’t stand me.

“Do you want to see her or not?” she narrowed her eyes at me.

“Yes,” I answered quickly.

“Then stop asking questions, boy,” she rolled her eyes. “Now I need to go. I have better things to do than to stand here and carry on a conversation with you.”

“Same,” I mumbled lowly. We stared at each other for a few more seconds before Cindy let out a deep breath and took off, leaving without another word. How polite, Cindy… Hasn’t anyone taught you any manners?

Bitch.

Hmm… So Justin’s going to see Alicia for the first time in a while.

Interesting…
