Twenty (Levi)

*TEN YEAR TIME SKIP*

The girls are in High School now and I just can't believe how much they've grown! They're both tall and tanned and beautiful.

"Phoenix! Kenzie! Get up come on I made waffles" I call, within ten minutes the girls were dressed and ready to eat. Kenzie wore ripped jeans, a black top and her hair in a ponytail. Phoenix wore ripped jeans too and a white crop top that read "Love is Universal", the crop top showed her bullet scar on her hip, she always said she never minded the scar, it's the terrible memories the scar holds.

Kenzie and Phoenix have kept their close relationship and actually get sad when they aren't in the same lessons. Thankfully they're in most of their lessons together. "Ugh dad these waffles!" Exclaimed Kenzie "thanks, Ken" I say. A few minutes later Nico comes down the stairs. I smile "hey" I say, he smiles and wraps his arm around my waist "Hey" he replies before kissing me smoothly "ew! Get a room!" Exclaimed Phoenix, Nico turned and gave her a mocked threatening look "Phoenix Anne Schmitt!" Exclaimed Nico "I am shocked and offended" mocked Phoenix. They both chuckled.

The girls finished their orange juice and brushed their teeth "alright, Ken and I are heading to school, shall we meet you at the hospital?" Asked Phoenix, I nodded "sure thing, Phee" I replied. The girls kiss Nico and I on the cheek and they leave the house with their backpacks slung across their shoulders.

Nico and I head off to the hospital, I was in the pit and Nico had back to back surgeries all day. After one surgery my phone rings, it's the school. I answer it "hello" I say warily, I was a little bit worried "hello, Mr Levi Schmitt" replied the voice "yes, who's speaking?" I asked "Jennifer Cosgrove, headmaster of Seattle High School, there has been an incident with your daughters and a boy named Frankie" replied Jennifer, I sighed "what happened?" I asked

"Well, apparently Frankie had been intimidating Kenzie-Leigh shouting homophobic slurs about her parents, Phoenix was walking over quickly to intervene when Frankie threw a punch at Kenzie-Leigh, at this Phoenix punched him back, pushed him to the floor and kicked him, she said he was a good for nothing piece of dirt" replied Jennifer, I was confused "so why are you calling me?" I asked "surely you should be calling Frankie's parents not me" I added "well I'm calling you to ask you to pick your daughter Phoenix up as she is suspended for a few days" replied Jennifer

"I'll come down to the school, not because I'm picking Phoenix up but because I'm going to talk to you face to face about your bullshit" I said and hung up the phone. I left and drove up to the school and stormed into the headmistress' office "I assume your Jennifer Cosgrove" I say, Phoenix and Kenzie still sitting in her office "I am" replied Jennifer "what is this about? Why is Phoenix getting suspended?" I asked "because Phoenix was violent toward another student" replied Jennifer

"What punishment is Frankie getting?" I asked "two after school detentions" replied Jennifer, I laughed mockingly "bullshit" I Exclaim "this boy was being homophobic about me, not to mention he threw a punch at my daughter for no reason, he was scaring and manipulating her Phoenix had every right to step in and defend Kenzie from this wretched boy, what is wrong with this school? Do you not agree with self Defence? Do you just think self Defence is violence? Is that what you are? A defenseless homophobic public school that teaches students that you can't stand up for yourself or others around you? Is that what it is?" I asked

"Of course not sir and I am not satisfied with your use of language nor am I fond with your tone. I am only doing what has to be done. Phoenix will have a three day suspension" replied Jennifer, I shook my head "to hell she will, I swear I will take this to court if I have to" I threatened "now sit there is no need for that, I'm sure we can make a compromise, after all I mean Frankie has a right to free speech" replied Jennifer "homophobia is illegal!" I Exclaimed "he was not being homophobic to Kenzie-Leigh specifically" retaliated Jennifer

"Is that what this is about? So you're saying that homophobia is ok so long as it's not directly to the person?" I asked "no sir that's not what I'm saying" denied Jennifer "yes, yes it is, and if you suspend my daughter I will take you to court, not the school, you, I will get you fired and make sure I sue you, I will not stand for this bullshit behaviors of yours, you leave Phoenix with nothing, if Frankie doesn't get a suspension then it's highly unfair Phoenix gets one and even if Frankie did get suspended you would still have no right to suspend Phoenix" I lectured, Jennifer sighed

"Fine, Phoenix goes without punishment and I apologize for any inconveniences this has caused" replied Jennifer,  I sighed "good good, oh and you have caused major inconveniences, whilst you were here being a child I could have been doing surgeries and saving lives but because of your biases I had to come here. You best believe anything like this happens again and I will be down here again and don't think I'll be any less than what I was today, in fact, expect more, next time expect a court date because I will not stand for this" I said, Jennifer shook her head

"Sir please leave" Asked Jennifer bitterly "gladly" I said and I left. I got in the car and drove back to the hospital. That felt amazing. That earned me brownie points from the girls most definitely. I should have got Nico to come but he was in surgery so I just went alone.

Hey guys!

So I wanted to get away from hospital drama and make Kenzie and Phoenix older so there could be more content that was interesting. I thought a fight with the head teacher was some good tea.
