Chapter 17

Mitsuya

I just got home from part-time when I saw an expensive car outside the apartment building. I immediately went to y/n's unit. My heart is pounding fast, I never felt so scared in my whole life.

My eyes widened when I saw her pulling her luggage out. "y/n? what's the meaning of this? are you gonna leave me?"

Her eyes are blank, her expressions are blank. She just stared at me.

"Takashi, Let's break up, I can't do this anymore." is the only words she said.

"What? why? Does your father threaten you? We were just happy yesterday! Did I do something to upset you?"

"No, Dad has nothing to do with this. I just can't live like this anymore. I'm tired, Takashi. Tired of everything. I thought I could pass all of this with just with you by my side, turns out it's not that easy."

"Y-You're kidding, right? This is a prank... right?"

"No. Takashi, see... Love can't pay bills, love can't get me to school, love can't bring food to the table. we're too young and this was all a mistake." She said and walked past me. I hold her wrist to stop her.

I looked down. "You broke up with me and told me that you were tired but you never told me that you don't love me anymore so I'm not gonna let go."

She pulls her hand away but I grip it tighter. "let go."

"No. Not before you say it straight into my eyes that you don't love me anymore." She sighs and looks at me straight into my eyes, in a serious tone.

"I don't love you anymore. I fell out of love, Takashi, now please... let me go." She said in monotone. I slowly loosen my grip, my shoulders fall and my eyes are starting to burn.

She didn't even look at me she just continued to walk away. my tears slowly stream down. It hurt like hell, I feel like breaking into two and it's harder for me to breathe. My throat felt dry, I want to shout and call her name, hoping maybe, just maybe, she will run back to me and whisper to my ear that it was only a joke but I can't get any word out.

My vision became blurry as I just watch her disappear from my sight.

Her brothers contacted me saying that y/n went back from her little runaway stunt. I immediately went to their mansion to annoy her. I still don't forgive her for what she said to me last time.

I saw her sitting at the patio so, I sneaked behind her.

"So, I heard you can't endure the peasant life so, you came back."

"leave."

"What? is that all you've got? aren't you gonna retort or something?" I pulled her shoulder, making her face me. I froze when I saw her crying. She's a strong woman that never show her weak side but now, for the first time, I saw her with tears in her eyes. I felt a tug in my chest.

"leave." She repeats.

"Hey..."

"leave, please." She said in a weak tone like she's tired. I stepped back and raised my two hands, gesturing that I surrender, and then took my leave.

Mitsuya

Two weeks have passed and I learned that she went to her father's house in Yokohama. I want to follow her because I can't believe that she would just left me like that. I have a strong feeling that her father was behind all of this.

I will get her back.

I started to add more part-time to earn money but it's not enough, Ma got fired a month ago so she's at home brainstorming where she could apply with her age. Our landlady asked us to move out but we talked to her. We asked her to let us stay while we're looking for a new place. Thankfully, she agreed.

Every time I got my salary, there were things that I needed to pay so, I never had a chance to save.

"Yo," Baji said that made me snap back to reality. Other members also gathered in front of me.

"Hey," I sadly replied.

"Uhm... the boys..." He said, scratching his head. "The... boys."

"The boys gathered this," Nahoya said, continuing what Baji's about to say. Baji then handed me an envelope.

"What's this?" I asked.

"Well, we can't bear you looking like that. We know that you want to go to her, but you don't have enough money to buy train tickets so, the boys contributed some amount... it's not that huge but it's enough for you to buy a round trip ticket and an extra for some food." Nahoya explained.

"Guys..."

Mikey handed me a piece of paper, "That's her address. I got it from Izana." He said.

"Thank you! Thank you!" I stand up.

"It's early, you can book tickets if you leave now," Souya said.

"I'll drive you to the station," Hakkai added.

"Just be careful, okay?" Draken said with a thumbs up. "Take her back."

With a smile, I nodded. "Let's go, Hakkai!"

"y/n! y/n! come out, I'm here." I heard Takashi's voice. I immediately look at my window.

"Takashi," I whispered. I was about to run outside when I saw my brothers walking towards him. This is bad. Ran has his baton.

I quickly turn around to go outside when I see my father leaning at my door frame. "If you go, I will not grant your wishes." He said in a serious tone.

Ahhh... right, I made a deal with the devil.

It was a month ago, As I was preparing myself for dinner at Takashi's. I heard conversations from their house. The wall is thin so, I can hear them.

"They suddenly fired me. I worked there for ten years! ten years! I was good at my job but they just fired me just like that! What are we going to do? The prize money that you won is almost gone." Her mother's voice is not loud but I can still hear them.

"Ma, I'll take part times. Don't stress yourself we can work this out as a family!"

My heart instantly sank. I immediately know who's behind this. I sat on the floor as my hands started to shake. Why? They don't want me in their lives but they also didn't want me to be happy.

After a couple of minutes, my doorbell rings. I quickly wipe my tears and fix myself, then I open the door and it's Takashi. He's smiling as always, like nothing happened. I am waiting for him to open up about what happened earlier but all throughout dinner, he didn't tell me anything.

He's suffering more than I do. The next couple of days I heard her mother talking to the landlady, she's telling her that they need to move out as someone ordered it and paid them in double. Again, Takashi never told me about it.

I can't bear this, Luna and Mana are gonna be affected by this game my father is playing. so one day, I went to our house in Yokohama, I told Takashi that I have work so he wouldn't worry.

Then I made a deal.

"Dad, we need to talk." I said storming inside his office.

"Oh, the prodigal daughter is back." Rindou said, "Get it? like the prodigal son? but girl so, daughter?" He chuckled. I just glared at him.

"You and your corny jokes, Rin." Ran said.

"You two get out," Dad said as he put down some papers. They both stood up and walked past me, Ran smirked and Rin just tapped my shoulders.

"Tired of playing house so you came back?" Dad said.

"I know you're behind all of those things."

"What things? I don't even lift a finger."

"Dad!"

"Don't you dare raise your voice at me. you know how capable I am, I can ruin your little boyfriend's life." He looks at some papers. "Oh, so he has a scholarship from some cheap competition... interesting."

"Dad, don't! that's his dream."

"I didn't say anything."

I sigh. "You win. I'll come home... I just have one wish, I didn't wish for anything in my life, I hope you grant this and I will do all the things you want me to do."

"Let see... I'm all ears."

"Just, help them, Dad... help them succeed, especially Takashi. Bring her mother's job back and promote her for a higher salary, don't kick them out of the apartment and sponsor his siblings' studies."

"Too much for one wish,"

"Well, in exchange. I'll marry that guy to strengthen your business. it's a win-win."

"I'll think about it. When you come home, I'll reconsider."

"That's all I wanted to hear."

"I have a proposal," Dad said, making me snap back from thinking.

"What is it, dad?"

"Make sure that he leaves you alone... I'll grant your wishes and delay your engagement until you're ready. I will let you also finish your study until college..." He paused for a while. "In abroad. I already booked your tickets."

"What?"

"I can't trust you to study here. you might sneak back to him. Think about this y/n" He walks towards me and turns me around. There, I saw him getting beaten by my brothers. Why is he not fighting back? he's the second division captain for fuck's sake! Why does he let them beat him like that? All of this, for what? for me? He told me that his siblings need him. If this goes on, he might die.

"If you go, he will not suffer, instead his life will be much easier. Not just him but his whole family."

"I'll do it."

"I want to see her," I said to y/n's brothers.

"No can do. Her fiance is possessive." Rindou whispered.

"She's not marrying him! I know her!"

"Well, why do you think she came back?" Ran asked, tapping his baton lightly on his cheeks.

"She came back because you threaten her!"

"Funny." He then smacks me with his baton. I kneel from pain.

"C'mon, fight us."

"No. I just wanted her to talk to me."

They continue to beat me until I cough blood. Moments later, I saw her walking towards me.

"I'll talk to him." She said in her stoic face. Her brother stepped back. "make it quick, you have an early flight tomorrow, half-sis."

"leave." She told her brothers. They oblige and leave us alone.

Flight? What are they talking about? Is she leaving the country?

"y/n I came here to talk to you."

"leave."

"No."

"I already told you, Mitsuya... I don't love you anymore." She said. I just laughed.

"Why are you laughing?"

"You're really good at pretending, y/n but like what I've always told you... you don't have to pretend in front of me." I saw her eyes widen a little but immediately went back to her stoic expression.

"I don't love you anymore! What's hard for that to understand, huh? I don't love you!" She shouted angrily. I stood up.

"Take my hand." I extend my hand towards her.

"Huh?"

"Just take my hand, y/n and we will leave this shithole. Whatever happens after this, we can make it... as long as we're together so don't be afraid and take my hand."

She's silent for a while... I patiently waited for her answer as my hand is slowly reaching her, she raised her hand and extended it towards me. I smile.

She then slapped my hand away from her. "Mitsuya... you're just hurting yourself. Look at you! you look pathetic. Just leave and find someone that suits your peasant life." She said and quickly turned her back at me.

I was left there frozen. I can't understand... Why? Did she just get tired of living her life with me, so she went back here? Am I just a toy for her that she can throw away when she's done playing with it? did she even mean all the words she said to me before? did she even love me?

My arms slowly drop and my hands slowly turn into a fist.

"Remember this, y/n. you're the one who let go, not me." She halts and looks back at me.

"Like, I care."
