Chapter 13

I asked Takashi to keep my secret until the fight is over, I promised him that I will tell Toman that I'm a girl. I just had an agreement with my brothers that Toman members must not know that I'm a Haitani.

I am now at the bulletin board. The school just announced the ranking of students. As I stand there my heart is pounding hard. What if I disappoint dad again?

I can't find myself to look at the list, I'm too nervous I feel like I'm going to explode, I clench my fist in an attempt to release the nervousness. I can hear everyone talking and it's making me dizzy. Suddenly I felt a warm feeling coming from my hands, I looked at it and there's a hand intertwining mine. I looked up and it was Takashi looking at the list.

"Look up." He said in a calm tone. With just his voice, he removed all the uneasy feeling.

"Huh?"

"look at the list. If you're scared, I'll hold your hand. I'm here beside you." He said, looking at me. I let out a small smile and slowly look at the list. I hold his hand tighter as I scan the paper. finally, I saw my name ranking at number one.

"top one!" I said in a surprised tone.

"Why are you surprised? I know you did your best that is why everything paid off." he fixes my bangs.

"Thank you for believing in me."

"I always believe in you, as you believe in me." He then smiles at me, Ahhh! Those precious smiles, I can't believe that he's mine.

After class, Takashi went ahead because he's going to pick up his siblings at school. Her mother wasn't able to pick them up. I thought of bringing them some snacks later, so I decided to swing by the grocery store.

I am counting some change because I want some water when I bump into someone, making the coins fall on the floor.

"Hey! Watch where you going." I said and pick up the coins. Someone crouches down and helps me pick them up. I look up and saw a guy probably the same age as mine or a little older? His hair is long with locks that are dyed in yellow and tied in a messy bun.

He has a pretty face and looks kind. I said to my head.

"I should be the one to tell you that, why on earth are you counting change while walking? Is your brain size of a pea?"

Until he opened his mouth.

"You're one smug asshole are you? feeling high and mighty, eh?" I said raising one eyebrow.

He chuckled and took my hand, he placed the coins on my palm. "You're not as perfect as they say you are." He then stands up.

I stand up too. "What do you mean? do you know me?" He just smirked and turn his back on me, he then proceeds to walk without answering my question.

"Hey! I'm talking to you! You rude ass motherfucker."

He looks back. "Don't worry, we will meet again."

I just watch him walk away, he's weird. I cringed. "Creepy," I whisper to myself.

Moments later, I heard my phone chime. Thinking it was Takashi, I quickly get it from my bag and opened the message.

it's from Dad.

You rank number one, Good job.

It's short but it made me happy, Dad is not disappointed anymore. I instantly forgot that cocky son of a gun.

"A little bit more, y/n... you'll gonna be accepted, just a little more," I whispered to myself.

Another week has passed, I'm getting uneasy about the upcoming fight. I trained every day to prepare myself but things are burning me out, now, I'm just lying on my bed thinking about everything.

I look at the time and it's 10:00 pm. I couldn't sleep so I decided to go to Takashi's. The silence in my house is killing me that I ended up overthinking things.

I am standing outside their apartment building for a while now. I'm contemplating if I should go or not. It's pretty late. Maybe, they were sleeping. I whisper to myself.

I turned my back "Maybe I can roam around the plaza, 'til I calm down." I was about to walk away when someone grabbed my arm, Out of instinct, I immediately throw hands.

"Woah! Relax, y/n"

"Takashi?"

"I have a feeling that you're nearby, so I look outside." He said with his gentle smile. "Why you didn't call me? and why are you here? it's late and dangerous."

"I- The silence in my house- I can't stand it, so I thought if I can see your face, I can calm down."

"Ahhhh, my love." He said and pulled me close. He hugs me tight.

"My love? Really?" I said, teasing him,

"What do you want? Baby? Sugar boo? Mommy?" He chuckled at his own joke.

"What, no!" I said as I buried my head on his neck. "Ahhh... You smelled nice, Takashi."

I felt his body stiffen "Don't tease me like that." He said in a low tone. His voice sends shivers to my spine, How can he sound calm and hot at the same time? I try to tease him for fun, I plant tiny kisses on his neck. The grip from his hug tightens.

"y/n," He whispered. I ended up putting marks on him. I let go and look at his face he's red as a tomato!

"This is my payback for putting marks on me at school!" I said and stuck my tongue out.

"Be thankful we're in public. If not, I will bite that tongue," he said, staring at my lips.

I felt heat travel to my body, he's not backing down. "So we're playing the teasing game now?"

Takashi chuckled. "Yes, we are."

"I am supposed to be the pervy one," I said and we both ended up laughing.

We decided to walk around to calm myself and we ended up in the park near his house. He bought me hot cocoa from the nearby convenience store as I sat on the swing looking at the stars.

"Here." He said as he handed me the cup.

"Thanks, Takashi."

"We were dating for months now and you still call me Takashi."

"What do you want me to call you? Taka-chan?"

"No. I want you to call me honey, or babe, or my one and only."

"Cringe!" I said. I drink the hot cocoa and look at him, side-eyes. he's pouting. I rolled my eyes.

"Fine, Babe," I said and reach for his nose to pinch it.

"Babe..." He rubs his chin. "Okay, that will work." He said with a smile.

There's a silence for a couple of seconds, I continue to drink my cocoa.

"How's the reaction of your father?"

I put down the cocoa on my lap still wrapping my hands on the cup and take a deep breath. "He sent me a short message earlier. He said good job. I don't know why but it made me happy. I felt like he's recognizing me. I felt instant relief."

"That's good! The load on your shoulder is now lessened. You can now focus on the fight."

"Yeah." I look at the stars for a while before I speak again. "Takashi- I mean, Babe. After all of this, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I plan to tell you this after the fight but I can't hold it anymore. I never felt this way before and it's overwhelming." I look at him and smile. "Please, don't let go of us."

"I won't, silly. Even if the world is against us, I will be by your side. I know that we're young and things might get tough in the future but if I feel like giving up, I will remember this day here, sitting at the swing looking at the stars with you, That's enough for me to hold on." He then smiled back.

"Thank you, Babe." Tears are building up in the corners of my eyes. He reached for it and wipe it with his thumb.

"Your smile, It's giving me warmth," I said, smiling at him. "I want to claim my prize, after the fight, whatever the result will be, Let's go on a date!"

"I would love that!"

The days went by so quickly, It's already the date of the fight and everyone is getting ready. The word got out so there are some high-rank members of other gangs that are watching.

"Are you okay?" Takashi said as he taps my shoulders.

"Yes and I'm ready. I'm going to beat my brothers."

"That's my girl." He said and winked at me. Really? He's flirting with me before the fight?

"Yo, Akio. Are you ready? You got this. We will win against Tenjiku!" A wild Baji suddenly appeared. He's about to smack my butt again when Takashi holds his hand.

"You're too touchy, Baji."

"What? That's a good luck smack from me." He said, chuckling. Mitsuya just stares at him. "You act like a possessive boyfriend, Mitsuya."

Takashi flinched. I can't hide my smiles. "No, it's just that Akio is tiny and the last time you smack his butt he almost went flying." He said, scratching the back of his head.

"Really? I can't remember that happened."

"Just- Just warm yourself up somewhere. the fight is about to start."

"Ah, yeah! Later, Akio!" Baji said and I just nod at him.

"Possessive boyfriend, eh? I teasingly said as he stand beside me.

"Shhh!" He gestured me to keep quiet, he's embarrassed I can see. It made me chuckle.

My smiles soon fade when I saw the members of Tenjiku entering the place. There, I saw their leader, Izana Kurokawa behind him are my brothers smirking. They immediately saw me and nod their heads. I nod back.

The commanders of both gangs step forward to talk, I think? We, the members are right behind them.

"I have an announcement to make." Ran said. Everyone whispers.

"Hi! Lil sis. You finally reached your dream." Rindou said, waving at me. I can feel Toman members' eyes are at me. Takashi holds my hand.

"Aww, how sweet," Rindou said when he saw Takashi hold my hand.

"As you all heard, my dear sister fool you. We had an agreement that she will join Toman and fight us wearing your uniform. She's my father's child from a different woman. She's a slut's daughter." Ran peeks behind Mikey and looks at me.

I looked around and Toman members were looking at me. I saw Baji looking at his hand.

"I kept my promise, I announced you as our sister in front of Tenjiku even before the battle begins. Are we good y/n?" He then winks at me.

There's silence for a while. Mikey is not talking, Is he angry? Will he kick me out from the gang?

"Is that all you have to say? it's none sense." Mikey suddenly said, My eyes widened and Takashi's grip tightens.

"She proved her spot at Toman and she proved it without using your name. So what if she's a girl? Once a Toman, always a Toman."

Everyone roars behind me. Mikey looks at me with a smile, I smile back.

"Boring," Ran said and charged towards me. Takashi instantly shielded but I gently pushed him.

"I'll handle my brothers." I charged towards them, then everyone started to charge at each other to start the fight.

"Hi, y/n," Ran said as he swung his baton. I immediately dodged it.

"You broke our agreement."

"Who cares? You will never be a Haitani anyway. Your mother was just a slut for my father. It just happens that she got pregnant that's why you're here."

"You mother-!" I was about to punch him when Rindou held me from behind. Ran instantly hit me with his Baton.

"Still weak." He said. I spat some blood and glared at him. I manage to hit Rindou's face with my elbow. I then charged towards Ran and landed a punch on his face.

"Ohhhh... did I hit a nerve?" He said holding his jaw "Not gonna lie, Your punches improved."

Rindou attacked me from behind, making me fall. He hugged my one leg, stretching it. I shout from pain. I heard Takashi calling me but I am focused on my brother. Ran crouched down to look at me. "Seeing you desperate is fun."

So he didn't really plan to accept me in the first place? He just made fun of me by giving me hope that this fight would earn their respect towards me. Stupid, y/n for believing them.

I felt this anger that I had never felt before. I kicked Rindou so hard that he immediately let go of my leg. "That hurts Lil sis." He said, holding his head.

"It's not over yet." I stand up and charge towards Rindou. I punched him so quickly that he didn't have time to react. He lay on the ground unconscious.

"One down," I said and was about to look back when Ran hit me with his baton, making me fall to the ground. I felt dizzy for a moment, then I saw Takashi trying to come towards me but other Tenjiku members were holding him back.

I stand up, wobbling. That blow is kinda hard that I still feel dizzy. I then felt warm liquid dripping down my head.

"You will not give up aren't you?"

"No. This time, not for my name but for Toman." I smirked. "Toman will be the number one gang in Japan."

Ran laughed. "Coming from you? You can't even earn our respect. Did my hit make you delusional, y/n?"

"Too much talking," I said and charged towards him. He got surprised when I jumped and kicked his head mid-air, making him kneel down. I held his head and hit his face with my knee several times until he got hold of my other leg and pulled it, making me fall to the ground. He sits on top of me and repeatedly punches my face.

"Too bad that beautiful face will be ruined but don't worry, my father will pay for your plastic surgery."

On his last hit, I manage to grab his wrist. I was fighting it as he tries to reach for my face. "Just accept your defeat so we can stop this madness, y/n."

"No."

He resist my grip and was about to punch me when someone tackled him. It's Baji.

"She's is not fighting alone, She's fighting with us," Baji said as he winked at me. "Sorry about smacking your butt last time."

Then it hit me, Even if I can't earn my brothers' respect now. I earn a family with Toman. I stand up. I can feel my eyelids swelling but I don't mind. I will finish what I started and I will finish it by winning.

I charge towards Ran and kick him again with speed. He finally falls on the floor almost unconscious. This time I crouch down. "Don't underestimate me. Onii-san." I said and stood up so I could kick him one last time on his gut. He coughed at my last kick.

After the long-ass fight and all the bruise and swelling of faces, Tenjiku retreated but before they leave, I saw my brothers slightly smirked at me, I don't know if that's their way of saying that I defeated them but I just nodded at them in response. This is a whole new level of sibling fights.

Shortly afterward, they finally announced that Toman wins. I sit on the floor feeling tired.

Even though my brothers tricked me. Surprisingly, I'm happy knowing that Toman didn't abandon me. I smiled.

I saw Takashi runs towards me and hold my chin. He raised it to examine my face. He looks worried.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"I'm fine, Takashi," I said and smiled at him. My eyes are blurry from the swelling of my eyelids.

"You did great, Babe."

"Thank you. We can finally have our date." I jokingly said.

"Yeah."

"But after I heal from this. I look like an inflated balloon." I chuckled.

"Aki- I mean, y/n." I heard Mikey's voice. I look at him and immediately stand up and bow at him.

"I'm sorry for keeping my identity hidden, I will accept any punishment that you will give me." I felt Mikey's hand patting my head. I kinda knew that you are a girl.

"What?" The members that are around us said in unison. I then stand straight and look at him, confused.

"Remember the initiation rights? When you hold my hand and put it in your chest? I felt something."

"Hey!" Takashi said.

"It's a binder! Mitsuya!" Mikey immediately said and then shook his head. "But I'm not that sure, then one day, Mitsuya showed us a picture of his girlfriend and that's when I confirmed everything."

I scratch the back of my head. "I'm sorry for lying."

"Well, as your punishment, you have to buy us dinner." He said, smiling.

"Deal!"
