Are We Safe?

Thranduil pulled out his long white sword and shouted out "Tula sinome!" Which means come here. Guards came racing towards us. I ran quickly after Thranduil and knelt down next to the maiden. She was dead. Blood pooled on the floor. Then I felt a knife at my throat."Get up!" The man hissed. I slowly got to my feet. Thranduil looked in horror."Drop your weapon!" Thranduil nodded and the guard dropped their weapons and his sword landed with a clang. "Now, hand over your crown and kingdom to me!" The man shouted. I watched and screamed at Thranduil."No, don't do it!" Then I heard a choking cry and the knife left my throat."No one places a hand on the queen, save the king." I turned around to face Lewood."Thank you, Lewood." Thranduil pulled me into his arms and said "Lewood, you are captain are you not?" Lewood bowed. "Lewood I would like to promote you to commander of the army." Lewood gasped and I laughed with Thranduil. That was the highest position in the army. I hugged my dear friend and said"Congratulations!" Lewood bowed and Thranduil turned to another guard."Show him to his new chambers."

I walked into the throne room and sat behind Thranduil in the throne built for me. He was sitting down looking thoughtful."My king, what is on your mind?" Thranduil turned to me and took my hand."My spy  has discovered that a dragon is in Gundabad. I plan to ride for that fortress in the morning." I bit my lip and replied"Then I will come with you." "No, Ella, not this time." "Thranduil, I am your queen and wife. Where ever you go I will follow, even to the ends of the earth." Thranduil's eyes filled with tears."I will be glad to have you by my side, Ellarian. You give me courage when I can find none.""Thranduil, you give me hope, then all is lost." Then we kissed.

Later that night, I walked out onto the balcony. I was soon joined by Thranduil."Ellarian, tell me your story." I sighed and leaned against the railing"I do not remember much about my childhood. My parents left Middle Earth after I was born, leaving me to die in the forest. But your father found me and took me in and trained me to be a solider. I have never had any friends, save Lewood. He looked after me and took care of me so no one found out that I was a girl. Then I fell in love with the most handsome elf in the world and I got married to him and they lived happily ever after. The end." We both laughed and Thranduil pulled me close to him. I snuggles into him. His breath was warm on my neck and I turn around and pushed my nose into his chest. He smelt like soap and forest. I held him close, afraid to lose him. Afraid for the future. What will fare chose for us tomorrow?
