Chapter 17

Thankfully the rest of your break did not consist of many alternate versions of you coming from different dimensions. You're currently in the barn stacking hay. Lex has set up his laptop in the loft so he can get some work done while you're busy. As you continue to stack, something dawns on you.

"If the genders were switched, then all of my male friends were female in Lex's universe."

You pause for a second, and it catches Lex's attention.

"Is something wrong?"

You're contemplating whether you should even ask the question.

"Lex by chance did you..you know date anyone I know back there." You don't really meet his eyes.

"Most of the women I dated were usually linked through other corporations or foundations that I worked for. I believe that's why none of my relationships lasted. I was always trying to find something in others, something to fill a hole."

You feel a bit stupid for bringing it up now.

Much like Lex you had your fair share of failed relationships due to your secret. Even before Lex knew your secret he'd been someone you trusted and cared for. You'd practically been family despite your father's constant caution around Lex.

"It's a little crazy but if you hadn't gotten into that accident, I don't think I would have admitted my feelings for you."

Lex closes his laptop with a smile.

"Is the great (Y/N) Kent getting sappy?" You roll your eyes.

"You know you're a handful sometimes Lex Luthor."

"I am constantly reminded."

He makes his way down the stairs and you heave the last stack of hay, slipping off your plaid shirt. Lex catches the tank top you wear underneath. You aren't even sweating. Not that he expects you to. When you catch his stare you tilt your head, pulling your hair back.

"What's up?"

Lex swallows.

"Nothing, I'm a bit thirsty."

The wind hits him right in the face, and in a matter of seconds you're back, holding a bottle of water. You hand it to him.

"I forgot how heated it gets in here. The seasons are changing so you need to be careful." You advise.

"This is torture." He thinks.

Surely this was his penance for his past. Dangling your innocent demeanor in his face.

Lex says nothing, just opens the bottle and begins guzzling the water in frustration. You watch him, a bit impressed.

"You really were thirsty huh." You grin. Lex removes the bottle from his lips.

"You have no idea." He states. His tone, topped with that look, has you gulping.

"Uhh..I-I.."

Words have failed you.

Lex takes a step forward, placing the bottle down on a table behind you. Your hips hit the table as he backs you up.

"Am I the only one?" His lips graze your neck and you grip the edge of the table. Eyes lulling as you become lost in his teasing kisses.

"Am I?" He nibbles at your ear, and you shake your head.

"No.." you murmur. Lex grins, pulling back. You're ready for him to just lean in and ravish you. But he stops when he's just an inch away.

"That's good to know."

He steps away with a triumphant look.

"I need to get back to work. Thanks for the water." He swipes the bottle before he's heading back up the stairs, and all you can really do is gape.

"Y-You jerk!"
