Chapter 18

KATIE'S P.O.V.

After me and Chers little  "incident "  the wedding was smooth sailing with some awkward tension. Cher and I skirted around each other the whole night not really knowing what to say to one another. I was still in shock and I kept replaying what had happened an hour ago. I guess Travis started to realize my strange behavior because he quickly excused himself and pulled me to the side.

" Hey, what's going with you?"

"I can't explain right now, I"ll update you later on."

 "Ok, I'll be here for you". He held my hand in mine making my heart skip a beat.

 "You better explain later, but for now lets dance ."

Me and Cher were currently at my house as we waiting in awkward silence. Not really knowing what to say, we sat in silence for a few more minutes before I finally spoke up. 

" Ok, we can't avoid this subject forever so I'm just going to break this painfully awkward silence. When did you find out you were a demigod? ".

She was looking around my room even though she had seen it hundreds of times. She finally looked at me and answered with a deep sigh, "It was about two years ago. Remember that time I missed a week school because I said I had strep throat? ". I gingerly nodded my head knowing where this was going. "Well, what really happened was I had been attacked by a hell hound. They're kind of my specialty at killing them ."

" But that doesn't explain why I have never seen you at Camp Half-Blood,and I'm pretty sure you have not been surviving out here all on your own."

She looked at me with nervous expression and started to fidget with her hands. " Well, at first I did go to Camp Half-Blood, but I don't think you were there yet or whatever. The reason I didn't stay was because it didn't feel...right ."

I scoffed "It didn't feel right?!? You had just found out you were a demigod, of course it didn't feel right, nothing did."

" No I mean, I didn't feel like I belonged. I-I didn't understand the Greek and I j-just had this feeling like I wasn't supposed to be there."

" So I left and then my dad was going to California on business trip and he told me I had to come with him. He knew who and what I was but he never told me. He told me to stay in the hotel because he was going to take me some where important later that day, but I was on my phone and I was attacked so I left. That's when I found Camp Jupiter."

I looked at her with confusion. What was Camp Jupiter? A science camp? "Katie, I have something to tell you, it's going to shock you but Camp Half-Blood isn't the only camp for demigods ". I stared at her for quit a while probably looking like an idiot. I mean, Camp Half-Blood not the only camp? It made sense in a way but how come we had never heard of them? And why was it named after a planet? Questions started flying through my head and I needed them to be answered.

Cher looked at me and seemed to know what I was thinking. " I know you probably have a lot of questions, but first lets start from the beginning."

" So you guys were the one that took down Cronos? We just assumed that he fell on his own."

" I could say the same for you, we thought Cronos just gave up or something. Well, I kind if assumed it was you guys."

" Well technically it wasn't just us, it was mostly Percy, one of our missing campers who took him down."

She lifted her head and  looked at me questionably "Percy?".

" Yeah?"

" Oh nothing it's just that we have this new camper on a quest named Percy. It was weird, he didn't know anything, he basically has amnesia ".

As soon as she said that it had occurred to me that Jason was the same way. "Really? That's weird we have a kid named Jason who is exactly like Percy, doesn't remember anything, just has a weird tattoo ".

 Her eyes widened  and she lifted up her arm. " Does it look like this?!" She lifted her sleeve exposing her arm. I had  to rub my eyes to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. It was exactly like Jason's, except the she different symbol. " Yeah, it does, what is that? How have I never noticed this before?"

All of a sudden it was like a light bulb went off over my head. I ran over to my desk and grabbed a photo that had been taken with a few campers last summer. It just so happened that Percy was in that photo. 

My hands were shaking as I held up the photo. " Does this Percy kid look like this?".

" He looks exactly like that." A sudden relief came over me. Maybe once we found him, camp wouldn't be so depressing anymore.

" Cher, we have to go and tell Chiron and tell him everything." She nodded her head in agreement and we picked up our stuff and headed down stairs. I left a note for my dad telling him where I was going and we walked out. I couldn't use my car because I couldn't park it anywhere at camp and I was not going to park it on the grass like Travis, disgraceful . A cab it was. We walked to the city, which wasn't that far and we quickly got a cab and headed out.  When we told him were to stop he looked at us like we were crazy, we probably were.  We walked about half a mile before I started to see the entrance.

I looked over at Cher and realized, I didn't know who her godly parent was. " Hey Cher, who's your godly parent?."

" Venus, but for you Aphrodite." It made sense, she was really girly  and knew the history of fashion like the back of her hand but didn't she say the Romans were way more strict than us?

" So then tell me how your not a buzz kill or how you can barely run a mile? "

" Oh I can run a mile, actually I've done a few marathons. I just use all that fake coughing stuff as a cover up, and the reason I'm not so strict like the rest is because I kind of just wanna be normal sometimes, you know? And I have you guys, I could never be strict around you guys, that would be weird. Also, Venus is not so different that Aphrodite, she's just more you know, strict."

" Also, I have one more question, when did you find out I was a demigod?".

" Remember that day after Travis and Connor prank-d you and you fell in the puke?". I grimaced at the thought of that memory. I mean how could I forget? It was nasty.

" Well, It was in gym class and we were running outside. Travis was next to you, I guess you thought you saw a monster and you stopped and I saw you take your knife out. It made sense though. You would always say "Oh my gods" or sometimes just use words that would only make sense in demigod terms and it finally clicked for me. I was thinking of confronting you at the end of senior year. You would be out of camp, if you survived, and then the two camps secrets could be safe." I took in her information and wondered what the mortals thought I did when I took out my knife, maybe a stick.

" Oh,  I also was thinking of telling you Jo and Layla at the end of senior year about me, but I guess you already knew." She nodded her head and the rest of the car ride was silent. We finally reached the borders of camp and I looked around taking it all in. This was gonna be a long day.

" Well, welcome to Camp-Half Blood, or should I say, welcome back." We walked inside and I instantly felt safer.

" Do you think anyone will remember me?" She asked tilting her head.

" How long were you here for?"

" About a week."

" Not even, unless someone has a really good memory ". I started walking towards the big house and Cher was already attracting attention from the campers.

"We have a new camper?"

" I didn't see any monsters chasing them"

" She's hot!"

"  You're nine, she's not going to date you"

" A man can dream.."

" You're nine!"

Me and Cher laughed at the conversation we just heard from two of the campers. My hand was reaching for the door of the big house when it suddenly flew open and whacked me in the face.  I fell to the ground and a loud groan came out of my mouth and when I looked up I saw Connor laughing like a maniac while Travis grabbed my face checking for injuries. I had such a lovely boyfriend. 

" Oh jeez Katie I wish I could replay your reaction over and over! ". Connor told me while wiping away the tears of laughter at his eyes. Travis offered me a hand and he pulled me up. I was kind of mad, I mean he couldn't be a little softer while opening a door? Who opens with such intensity? I guess he saw the expression at my face because he softly pulled me in for hug,

" Aw c'mon Katie don't be mad, you know I didn't mean to." He started playing with my hair and my anger slowly faded away. I could never be mad at him. I gazed up at him and before I knew it we were kissing. I weaved my fingers through his hair as he wrapped his arms around me. Oh gods his lips were so kissable and his hair was just so--

" AHEM THERE ARE PEOPLE YOUNGER THAN YOU GUYS PRESENT IN THIS CROWD ".Connor bellowed. We had been a little bit preoccupied in what we were doing and I remembered what I had to come here for. A blush started creeping up my cheeks when I saw the way Cher was staring at me with a smirk on her face.

 " Cher what the hell are you doing here?" Travis asked.

" Long story short she is a demigod. I found out yesterday at the wedding. That's why I was acting weird. Anyway we have good news, we know were Percy is! We have to tell Chiron ."

He looked at me with an odd expression and said " Yeah we know, didn't you get the news?"

" Jason, Piper, and Leo came back today. Turns out there's another camp and Percy's their while Jason is here. Some parent trap shit is going on" Travis answered. So I guess me and Cher figured that out a little too late.

He cocked his head to the side, which made him look freaking adorable and asked " When do you find out Cher's godly parent?".

"Actually I'm like Jason. We came here to tell them about Percy but I guess you guys already found out ". Cher said.

Connor pumped his fist in the air and said " Aw yes, hot and roman!"

 Cher turned her head to the side to hide her blushing. I rolled my eyes and realized there was nothing left to do. 

" I turned over to Cher and asked " So, what are you going to do now?"

" Well summers not over yet, so I'm going to go back to Camp Jupiter, they probably already know about this whole Percy/Jason situation so I'm just going to pretend like I didn't know. If they found out I knew about you guys for a long time well I don't know. I'll be in big trouble for sure."

Cher left later on that day and caught a cab back home. I stayed as I wasn't leaving until the end of summer.

I was currently sitting at the edge of the docks watching the nayads doing flips out of the water. I heard footsteps and I turned around. Travis sat down and put his arm around me.

" So what is bugging yeah Katie-kat?". I had left the campfire halfway because I was getting tired and I needed to get my head cleared out from everything that happened today.

" I'm just tired of everything that's happened today and I don't know. I know now that Percy has been found everything should feel ok but something feels weird. Not weird just like something big is coming and it's not a good feeling. Im just worried about what's going to happen after all this" He turned to face me and we just sat it silence for  a few minutes looking at everything.

He finally spoke up and put a quick kiss to my forehead saying,

" Don't worry, everything will be ok."

AHHHH I'M SORRY. I know its been like three months I think... I've had a hard time keeping up with school and being on 2 swim teams and I have had barely any time to read and stuff. But the next chapter is definitely the last chapter:( Its probably not going to Be long and yeah.

1 more thing, if you guys get updates its because I'll be re-doing some of the old chapters like just little tweaks and stuff.
