Talon
08:17, 8 October 2018●fyi Reaper is going to be known as Gabe,Gabriel, Reyes, and Reaper throughout the story.●
Jack was thrown into a cell that night. Rather than trying to escape, he was still trying to wrap his mind around what Reaper had just said. Overwatch was his team, his family. Now he wanted to kill them all? And Ana, was she really dead? Jack tried to gather his thoughts. The whole world was against him. Reaper had lost his mind. Does that include Jesse? He was just a kid back then, but he made the tough decision to leave. No one knew where he was. Where anyone was. No one even knew that Jack and Gabriel were still alive. They burried empty caskets that day of the explosion. Jack remembered coming to his own grave one day. He saw his own tombstone and no one knew it. Jack knew he had to disappear, or spend the rest of his life in a cell. Overwatch was gone, but old habbits die hard. He continued rescuing people, under a mask, but it wasn't enough to save the world.
That night Jack was thrown into a cell. Five days passed and Jack hadn't had anything to eat. He refused to look weak. He ignored the pain inhis stomach every day. Reaper came by on the fith night and spoke to him.
"Getting hungry Jacky?"
"No."
"You'll give up soon, or you'll starve. Akande believes you will." Reaper said laughing menacingly.
"You're a sick bastard Reyes!"
"That's the nicest thing I've heard all day."
He phased away. Jack gripped at his stomach wincing in pain. He couldn't sleep that night. His stomach gargled and pain filled his insides, but then all of a sudden the gate to his cell unlocked. The keypad shined bright green and the door slid open. He got up from his bed to investigate. All of a sudden Reaper appeared in the doorway, motioning Jack out of the cell.
"Hurry up, we don't have much time!"
"What the hell are you on Gabe?"
"Shut your bloody mouth and stay close. Follow me."
They crept through the halls of Talon hq until they reached the garage. They walked down the long line of vehicles unril they came to a black Camaro with dark tinted windows. The window rolled don to reveal Sombra in the drivers seat.
"Need a ride boys?"
"Move your ass. I'm driving."
Sombra moved to the passengers seat. Gabriel warped through the window and apeared in the drivers seat. Sombra waved her hands in her face and coughed.
"Stop doing that."
"Get in, Jack."
Jack looked at him confused, but got into the back seat. Reaper started the car and they took off. Jack was scared to ask anything so he was silent.
"Es mejor tener una buena razón o hacer esto."(You better have a good reason for doing this.)
"Hago."(I do.)
"¿Qué vas a decir Doom?"(What are you going to tell Doom?)
"No tiene que hace y no vas a decir nada."(He doesn't have to know and you're not going to say anything.)
"Hey no side chit chat." Jack said. "Where are we going?"
"To get some dinner. I'm starving." Sombra said.
Jack grabbed at his grumbling stomach.
"Thanks."
"Shut up." Reaper said.
Jack looked at him curiously.
"Why are you doing this?"
Reaper sighed. There was a long pause.
"Because there is still a small part of me that gives a shit."
Jack was shocked. He tried not to smile, but he couldn't get over the fact that Gabriel might have some sanity left. They arrived at a 24 hour cafe. Inside was a steam punk style cafe. It was empty and playing slow music. Jack stopped and looked down to see Gabriel attaching an electronic ankle bracelet to his leg. He stood up to look at Jack.
"Sorry. We can't risk anything."
Jack sighed and nodded. They sat at a booth and a girl with short black hair and robot dress came out to greet them.
"Sombra, Reaper. Who's your new friend?"
"Hola Chloe. This is Jack." Sombra said.
Reaper nudged Sombra a bit with his elbow, but she ignored him.
"Jack, are you a new member of Talon?" Chloe asked.
Jack sat up in the booth and looked at her sternly.
"Never."
Chloe's smile faded.
"Chloe I think we'll order now. We are a bit rushed." Reaper said.
"Rushed? At this hour?"
"I'll take coffee, as black as..."
"As black as your soul, I know. And for you two?"
"I could use some whiskey." Sombra said.
Chloe wrote on her pad.
"I'll second that." Jack replied.
"I'll be right back." Chloe said walking away.
"I assume you guys come here quite a bit." Jack said.
Sombra sighed.
"We used to."
"Sombra, aqui no."(Sombra not here.)
"Tenemos que decirle eventualmente."(We have to tell him eventually.)
Gabriel slammed his fist on the table.
"¡No tenemos que decirle nada!(We don't have to tell him anything!)
"Gabriel!" Jack exclaimed.
He looked up at Jack.
"What the hell is going on?"
Reaper sighed. He turned to Sombra.
"Fine."
"Before we found out you were alive Gabriel and I were.....together." Sombra said.
Jack gasped for breath.
"Wha-what?!"
"Our dates usually included coming to this cafe." Sombra explained. "Then we found out you were still alive and Gabe was trying to do whatever he could to find you. Things were not going good between us, so we broke it off, but Talon is a place of commitment. You have to learn to live with the people you work with, so we learned to live with the struggles. All I wanted was for Gabe to be happy. I helped him find you and it helped us become great friends, because of it."
Jack was speechless. They gave up eachother to find him.
"What do you want from me?" He asked.
Gabriel leaned foreward.
"Like I said." He held Jacks hand. "A small part of me still gives a shit."
Chloe came back out with a tray of drinks. Gabriel ket go and leaned back into the booth. Chloe set their drinks down.
"I need a whiskey too." Gabe replied.
"Yes sir."
Reaper widdled the mug in his hands and looked down at the table.
"We had some fun times, didn't we Gabe?"
"Not helping, Sombra."
"Gabe's open to very few people in the world. You're lucky to be a part of that group, Jack. I'm happy to be his friend."
"Wow."
"What is it?"
"Nothing, I guess I didn't think that Talon members were so close to eachother."
"I like to think we are family, but sometimes you can't trust your own family. To be honest Gabe and I don't like Talon that much."
Jack thought about that. What did Sombra mean. The rest of the night they talked about the good old days. When they had freedom. They ordered food, ate, and went back to Talon hq. Reaper put Jack back in a cell.
"I promise Jack this will be over soon." Gabriel said closing the cell door.Jack nodded solemnly and laued in bed. He woke up to hear two people talking in the distance. He heard Gabe, but didn't recognize the second voice.
"Why do you jave an ankle bracelet on him?"
"In case he escapes, sir."
"You think he will?"
"He might."
"It seems like you don't want him to leave."
"I'm sure you don't either sir. He's skilled. If he escapes he could leak Talon's secrets." Gabriel explained.
"I think there is a different reason."
Gabriel didn't respond.
"What are you hiding Gabriel?"
All of a sudden an alarm went off. Jack heard someome grunt amd a body fall to the floor. He sat up and looked through the bars to see Reaper staring right back at him. Doomfist was lying on the ground next to him. Reaper looked around confused. He grumted and grabbed his neck, then fell to the floor. Jack shook the bars. Just then a figure fell from the ceiling and went up to Jack's cell. The figure was shorter than him and was wearing a hood over their face. Tje figure began fiddling with the lock on the cell and spoke.
"Jack! I'm here! I'm gonna get you out!"
He recognized the voice. The figure removed their hood and Jack stared wide eyed. He saw the focused expression of Ana Amari. It made his hair stand on end. She was wearing an eyepatch. She quickly unlocked the cell and motioned for Jack to come out. He was far too terrified and she attempted to pull his arm.
"Jack, let's go!"
She pulled him down the hall.
"Wait!" Jack stopped and looked at Gabriel lying on the floor.
"We have to go! They could wake up any second!"
They ran. Ana motioned him into a black van. He sat in the passengers seat and she drove off.
"How the hell did you live?! They said you were dead!"
"You should expect lies out of a terrorist group. They thought I was dead. That bitch of a girl shot out my one good eye. You're safe now and that's all that matters."
"Ana we're not safe anywhere."
"Don't worry. I've found somewhere safe. I've moved all the equipment. We'll be safe there. I've missed you Jack."
Jack sighed in regret.
"Ana, there's something I need to tell you."
"Later, we got company."
Jack looked out the window. He could see several Talon agents on motorcycles behind them.
"Damn it! Got any weapons on this thing?"
"Your old gun and visor are in the back."
Jack hopped to the back of the van. He found his visor. Jack put it on and grabbed his gun. He kicked open the van doors and started shooting the bikes. Several agents were shot off and their bikes exploding in the background. Some of them had their bikes blown and had to jump off to safety. The last of tje agents started getting out gums and firing at the van. Jack doged out of the way, reloaded his clip and shot the rest of them down. He closed the back doors and hopped into the passengers seat. He took off his visor and looked over at Ana laughing.
"I gotta admit. That was fun." Jack said laughing.
